The Many Adventures of Bella Sue and Her Family Too!

This is my very first trip report, and I am very excited to share you!!! We celebrated many things at WDW this time around...My daughter's 1st birthday and 1st visit, a family reunion (1st time altogether at WDW since my wedding there in 2006), and of course our 3rd wedding anniversary! I did a short trip report that includes some background information on me and my family with some pictures included (1st - Trip with DD and 1st Trip Report) if you are interested in reading.

CAST:
ME (Kammie) - 14 visits to WDW, married in 06 at the wedding pavilion and reception at boardwalk, I am a first grade teacher on summer vacation...so I have time to write this

DH (Eric) - 6th visit to WDW, starting to become as big a disney fan as me, if that's possible!

DD (Bella) - 1st Visit to WDW, a very vocal little sweetie who needs lots of sleep

DF (my Dad) - 20 some visits I'm sure a little less than DM though, and a big fan of disney also!

DM (my Mom) - I believe she's on her 24th visit---a big scrapbooking and disney fan!!

DS1 (my older sister) - 14th visit to WDW, she is also on the boards (mindystar)

DS2 (my younger sister) - ok so I'm trying to remember how many times they've been I think she's 13, 14 , or 15


I can hear DD crying in her crib (she's been asleep since midnight last night riding home from the airport...almost 12 hours of sleep, good for her since she did catch a cold on our last day in disney) so I guess i should stop now and get pictures together and I will start our 1st day Thursday, June 4th very soon...

Day 1 : It's finally here, time to go to Disney World!!!

All packed and ready to go. Wake up time is 4:15, of course I wake up earlier and stare at the clock willing it to go faster - it doesn't, so I get up and take a shower. DH takes his next and I get ready, then head in to get DD changed and dressed. DH's brother is picking us up for the airport and he arrives early - 9 minutes early in fact (I even told him an earlier time so we wouldn't be late, good job Kiko)!! I check the luggage, get DD's carseat all set and we are off to the airport (I hope we didn't forget anything??!!...) - I love Home Alone 1 and 2, I even watched Lost in New York on ABC Family the night before we left - ok so back to the trip...

Day 1, take 2: Bella's First Plane Ride!

We arrive at the airport in plenty of time and check our bags, we had already gotten our boarding passes online. We ended up paying $30 to check two bags with Delta. On to security, everything went smoothly once DH figured out how to fold up the stroller. We then walked to our gate (Omaha's airport is VERY small)! DH bought DD a milk and us a breakfast sandwich. When I had finished DD convienced me that it was very important to her that she hold my trash for me?! SO...she played with the empty breakfast sandwich box and we waited for our plane to arrive. I have to admit I was very worried about how DD would do on the plane. She is at an exploring stage right now and loves to walk around holding on to things and crawl up and over everything. I was not sure how she would do having to sit in our laps for hours at a time (she is also very vocal when she want to be)!

We board our first plane to Atlanta and everything goes well. Bella just chilled in my lap (a big people watcher like her mom and dad)! She then fell asleep in my arms (very uncomfortably, my hand fell asleep), but at least she was content. When she woke up I handed her to DH, seeing my hand was asleep, but DD wanted nothing to do with him , soooo back to me and she was fine. We land in Atlanta and I am very pleased with our good little girl on her first airplane ride!

We found a little sit down Mexican restaurant (can't remember the name) and eat lunch. Bella made a big mess with all her beans and rice!! Oh well, she's learning! I then change Bella in the restroom and DH and I take turns strolling her around while the other sits and rests. I made sure not to stroll past the place we ate since DD had made a mess

Boarding our 2nd plane to Orlando I am hoping Bella will again do a nice job flying... and all went well...even better then the 1st. We luck out not having anyone sit next to us and we have an empty seat. DH moves over and we have an empty seat in between us...awwww...more space!

Coming up next: Arriving in Orlando, will DD be as good on the bus as she was on the plane or will she even be able to stay awake long enough to see the magical express line??

Ok so I am thinking of changing my Trip Report Title. I am noticing how much I am writing about Bella and all of the pictures are basically of her soooo...The trip report will now be called..."The Many Adventures of Bella Sue" - We share the same middle name, and grandma's too!

Oh my goodness Bella is so adorable! I had to laugh at the picture of your dog (also adorable!) sleeping on the Disney bag. I have the same bag and every time I unload my groceries and leave it by the front door to take back to my car, the cat curls up on it and goes to sleep

Day 1, Take 3: Magical Express, and arriving at Pop Century Resort

"All partied out," as DH likes to say. DD fell asleep on the stroller ride to magical express. We were pleasantly surprised to find we did not have to wait in a long line to check in to ME. A kind man just had us get right in line for our bus to Pop (must have changed since I was just there March '08). DD slept for about 15 minutes on the bus, then she played with her sunglasses and we snapped a few pics. I was sad we did not get an actual ME bus and there was no video either, darn!

As we pulled up at Pop Century I could see my DM coming out to greet us camera in hand. Feeling overwhelmed with emotion (seeing my DM, happy to be at disney, and having Bella there for the first time) I started tearing up (and I'm not one to cry) so I threw my sunglasses on. DH waited for our stroller and I went over to DM who bought DD a mickey necklace and put it on her (Bella loved it and it kept her busy a lot of the time there, it also came in handy for a nice place to clip her binky since she pulls it right off her clothes).

We all went inside and I got in line to check us in (well get our packet and keys since I already checked us in online)! DM and DD joined me and I went up to get our things. I was hoping for 4th floor, got it! I was wishing for 50's building, got it! AND to top it off it was a king sized bed!!!! Everything was going so well, we were sooooo happy...nothing could possbly go wrong now...or could they???


DH and I recieved our anniversary pins and we headed toward the room. The rest of my family were staying at the Grand Floridian and had drove down earlier. So they brought along DD's pack 'n play, blankets, and car seat. My parents even went to the store and bought us diapers and some food for Bella, how nice was that?!! After unpacking DD's things we decided to look around a bit at the resort and snap some photos before heading to dinner at Kona Cafe.

What a cute family you guys are! Thanks so much for posting Pop pictures. We are staying there for the first time this coming August. Every time I see Pop pictures, I get more and more excited.

Well since I'm home (thanks Bella!) I knew I better come check on your TR.
You're doing a great job so far! Glad I could recommend the 4th story of the 50s building Did you ever get to see any of Illuminations? Or were you at the GF with us too late at night
I was soooo glad that mom and dad decided to move us out of the first room and into the second. We initially were put in a dormer room (which was adorable! and would have been perfect if there were two people--or were there with little kids, but for us four adults we needed more space to spread out. And knowing we were going to have Bella, Eric and Kammie over most nights it was definitely not enough room! And the view wasn't all that great either--so we got moved to Lagoon view with the day bed--which Katie slept on and so I got a bed all to myself )
It was fun to go to the Pop resort and I loved the lobby--still that I forgot to take pictures of all of the cool stuff they had on the walls that I remembered/had when were children of the eighties! I do enjoy how in the deluxe resorts the whole bathroom is separate from the room, but was jealous of how much drawer space Pop had compared to our tiny one drawer apiece at GF.
Oh and sadly for this DSis1, it was only my 13th trip. And DSis2 (Katie) it was her 14th. Now I've just got to work on saving up my money for your 5 year anniversary (if I can wait that long--how sad--remember when we went our first time in 93 and it was going to be a once-in-a-lifetime trip? And now people at my job don't believe I've been anywhere but WDW!) and I think I want to stay at CR again--and if I do a good job at saving my $ I could get a room all to myself-whaa hahahaha!
Anywhoo back to your TR--I swear mom had us leaving the Grand to wait for you at Pop before your DME even left! They had even already went to AK in the morning--I opted to stay in the room and take my time getting ready and listen to podcasts and read out on the deck--another thing I'm in love with at the deluxe resorts!
MMMMM. . .next is Kona (and we had already ate there on our first day too! We had ordered the Ohana bread pudding and I had mine to go---soooooooo good! And yummy Pina Colava smoothies--ahh reminded me of Hawaii!)

Day 1, Take 4: We're Soaked!!!

After taking lots of pics at Pop, we decide to look for DF who has gone off by himself. Luckily we find him back at the car waiting for us. Since there is not enough room for everyone to ride the rest of the family drives back to GF and Bella, DH, and myself wait for the bus to Magic Kingdom. We watch 2 DS, 2 AK, and 1 Epcot bus go by b4 ours arrives. We were second in line and the bus door for handicap access opens. The people in front of us go over and try to board however the bus driver strictly tells them they are boarding the lady on the "scooter" deal first! The mom and son (or thats what I think it was) walk back to the line, but not b4 calling the bus driver a b%&$@! Wow, I couldn't believe she said that especially in front of the boy. Anyway this started a whole conversation with people in line about people being fat and lazy eating too many hamburgers...whatever! DH said if anything for Bella he hopes she will not grow up and be as rude as those people (we don't know anyones situation, or thier handicap)--just bc you're overwieght doesn't automatcially make you lazy!! Well enough of that, we board the bus and I have my own personal crisis!

I won't go into any details, but by the time the bus arrives at MK I know I need a change of wardrobe. SOOOO...as quick as we can we take the monorail to GF and meet the family. At this time the clouds decide to burst open and down pour. DS1 (who has so kindly decided to let me borrow some of her clothes), DM, and I head out in the rain to their room. Everyone else stays in the lobby. As soon as we walk outside we are instantly soaked. It was as if we had jumped into the pool with our clothes on. I felt terrible making them have to go out in the rain with me. We change (after trying on a couple of shirts ), and head back to the lobby to take the monorail to poly for dinner at the Kona Cafe.

Sadly these are the only two pictures I have for the rest of this day. I guess my mind was not on taking pics the rest of the night...but there are lots for Day 2!

We wait a while to be seated at Kona, since I made us 20 minutes late. When we are finally seated DD is restless and tired from her long day. She did not want to sit in her highchair and of course won't let anyone else hold her but me (I too am overly exhasted). I ordered the terriaki (?) new york strip and it was sooooooooooooo good (one of my favs, I wish I would have taken a pic)...everyone orders their dessert to go, so we can head to bed. DH strolls DD around while we sign for the tip, he uses the restroomand we head back to the GF. DF and DM kindly drive us back to Pop (since they did bring the car seat along). We try to lay DD in her pack 'n play with no luck so we all lay in bed and enjoy our desserts. I had the chocolate torte (WOW...SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD words cannot describe it) and DH has the banana/chocolate creme brulee. He can't finish it so of course I say I'll try it (not a fan of bananas at all!) and I don't know which was better his or mine!!!

DH finally get DD to fall asleep in her bed (after much crying) and we fall asleep. Three hours later DD is back in bed with us for the rest of the night. Tomorrow...Magic Kingdom and Bella's first haircut!!!

Mmmmmm. . .that night I had the ribeye--yummers! The time before I had the coconut almond chicken because I'm in with that salad it comes with! Another Pina Colava, but this time that can't do Ohana bread pudding to go so got my favorite Kilauea Torte and had it for breakfast the next morning and it was to die for!!!
While they took the monorail back, Katie and I walked back to our room in the Big Pine Key. They are working on the building (love that sound from 9 am to 6 pm!) but we are still able to go from the beach to behind our building and enter through that door.
Ahh, I had already forgot about getting soaking wet! So much so that my clothes were never going to dry, so I changed into another outfit as well But at least it was a cool rain and not the slow drizzle that gets you wet enough that with the humidity just makes you feel all fresh and pretty and not at all like you just did three hours of yard work and are looking for the shower!

Ok I will be posting pics and writing about our time at MK today. First I have to go to school to go over some new curriculum with my teaching buddy for next year and get Bella down for her afternoon nap, catch up on y&R...and then...I promise to start day 2 of our trip!
