I'll try to not meet you in the park because mine always looks great! :lmao: Oh, who am I kidding, my hair always looks like crap! I've given up a long time ago on having decent hair when it is hot and humid in the paks. Right now my hair is pretty short so it is easier to have decent hair, but when I had longer hair it was pretty much a pony tail every day.

BUT even in a pony tail, people do not have a ton on little hairs sticking out like static electricity. I am now fully convinced it is b/c of the thinning shears. I looked around and it seemed NO ONE had hair as bad as mine and it felt almost crispy on the ends even though I tried a ton of different products to combat that. OKAY I do color my hair with a mild semi perminent....everyone down there had processed hair so that is not it either.

Has anyone tried the Revlon Grow Luscious mascara?

I don't care for it. The brush is HUGE! I think you could spread cement with it!

The mascara is clumpy and not at all smooth to apply. I'm disappointed. :sad2:

I hate bad mascaras. Nothing more disappointing than spending money on a tube of crap.

Got my Ulta rewards today. This time I will not dump it because I know what it is. They are so not as good as Sephora. I can get a .5 oz bottle of Essie polish and bunch of other useless things and I am on level 3 out of 5 being the highest.

My hair identical to yours, I could of written your post. I have tried all kinds of products from oils, serums, thousands of different shampoos/conditioners, etc and nothing helps. My hair did it's best in Colorado (low humidity) and first time in years I actually liked my hair, but moving back to KY I hate it again. Back to trying to find the right cut and products. I also hilight and color, but, stopped the hilights and went more with all over color with lowlights (auburn)..that's has helped somewhat. She also has it mainly one length with the ends cut into a bit (basically long layered) and slightly angled around the face.

See I think that is the key LONG LAYERs and no thinning shears.

I'm continuing my quest for a great SMUDGE proof mascara. My drawer is a wasteland of tubes. I have used the Maybelline pink stuff, Cover girl, Lancome, Blinc, BE, revlon, clinique. My favorite used to be cover girl marathon but that is long gone (Ebay has it for $75 :rolleyes1). I also loved the Revlon color stay but they discontinued the one I liked the most. Hmmm, I'm seeing a trend here.

Anyways I have to use mascara or people ask me if I'm feeling ok (I have red-blonde hair, very light skin and blue eyes). I also wear contacts so if it flakes at all I'm doomed.

I'm tired of ending up with black/brown under my eyes and no mascara on my lashes by noon.

What suggestions do you have?

I'm right there with you but add 'I'm 55' to your description. Now that I am older, my eye lashes seem to be thinner and shorter and it takes longer to even put on the mascara. I have light red hair with a big streak of gray. The 'raccoon look' isn't doing me any favors. :guilty:

I'll watch for your responses and also take to heart any suggestions! :)

As I said in a previous post I am a make up snob I will admit it BUT no matter which mascara I use I keep going back to L'oreal double extend in the blue and gold tube. It did not smudge even one day when I was at WDW and the heat index was 106 and the humidity was like a million%.

I missed your post...must have been right in front of my face...why would I see it!? :headache:

I will have to check out that mascara, thanks!

I also missed the post about layering your hair. My mess is thick and curly and I *try* to keep it layered but not everyone can cut layers correctly. I have been letting whoever is available cut my hair and I need to stop that! The last time I got a hair cut, she just used the thinning shears and my hair is a mess. I'm embarrassed to go outside! :scared1: I'll have to seek out the girl that cut my hair before her and go back to her.

I am thinking I need to take a bouquet of flowers to the person that can cut my hair properly. :rolleyes1

Rite aid has Loreal b1g1 50% off so may check it out. I have 2 months to find something that stands up to Disney heat. We were at an amusement park this weekend and the heat was horrible (as was my mascara). Thanks for the suggestion!

Okay so now you have confirmed the thinning shears thing for me. Seriously I am obssesed by this if you look back over the thread you will see. I guess it is because I used to have really good hair that did not do this.

I use DiorShow Blackout Waterproof:
http://www.sephora.com/browse/produ...d=P212928&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=1073

Love it!! No smudging-- it's definitely worth the price. I always splurge on good mascara-- I tried a Revlon red-tubed mascara a few weeks ago, trying to be economical. Couldn't do it. "Waterproof" and still flaked a ton!

I like dior and I loved the Givenchy but they were hard to remove even with remover yet they did smudge. I found the L'oreal does not .

best mascara: loreal double extend in gold/blue or red/white tubes
and MAC opulash.....i love primers so i use the white loreal primer and then the opulash and then a coat of the loreal double extend tubes to top it off!

Just popping in here to ask, what kind of Makeup brushes do you use? Mac or Sephora brand? I'm in the market for a few eye brushes. Any ideas?

I use MAC, Ulta, and I got some really pretty good ones at Costco Borghase(sp)

I get the Mac at the outlet, Ulta I wait till they are bogo and Costco has the brush set at Christmas.

I use Sephora mostly, but I recently bought a crease brush from everydayminerals that I love. Also, they are so much cheaper than the Sephora brushes. The only downside is they don't have much of a selection, but what they do have is very good. :)

I definitely pick up the Costco Borghese set every winter. When I need something in between, I either order brushes from Everyday Minerals (they make an awesome eye kabuki brush) or buy brushes made by EcoTools at the drug store.
