Hi Everyone!

Just checking in to let you know I'm still alive and still doing the FE. I've been laying low, waiting for 2013 to end as it turned out to be possibly the most miserable year of my life. No exaggeration. In addition to losing an uncle, a cousin, and my dear mother, we lost two of our beloved dogs two weeks before Christmas, one of which was my little Chihuahua, Juanita.

No flights or hotels booked yet. We're still discussing options for getting to Barca, and we may as yet have to cancel, but I'm remaining optimistic, at least until the PIF date. I'm starting a new business venture and continuing to develop my dog clothing business, so with a little luck we'll have the extra income needed to make this happen.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas and the New Year brings all that we hope for!

If you haven't sent me a PM about the FE (or joined the FE page on FB) and you wish to participate, please do so as soon as possible. I'm going to be editing the list for those who have cancelled, consolidating the lists from here and FB, and setting up a spreadsheet to begin working on groups over the next couple of weeks. As we still have 8 months til we cruise we'll likely have some dropping and adding, but at least we'll have a rough idea of numbers. Thanks!

HELLO FUTURE WBTA CRUISERS!!!
Well....we are finally into the year in which our cruise if finally going to happen!!! WAHOO!!! I am organizing the rum cocktail tastings and the mixology tastings. If you have signed up, please take a minute to check the list and see if your name is one it. Everyone please make sure that you double-check your PIF date with your TA or DCL. We had a huge glitch with our WBPC sailing in May…the DCL original date was 2/16. Because we booked with Costco, our PIF date was listed as 2/2 (apparently they need a two-week turnaround).

Then all of a sudden, people were noticing (or a few TA's notified their clients -- Costco DID NOT) that the PIF date was moved up. Some people's were 1/2. Ours was 12/31! It was only because of the DIS (and our FB page) that I actually checked. Long story short, it was a big mess, and some people missed their PIF dates! Thankfully, those that have posted were only a day off and were able to straighten things out.

The issue was that DCL made a mistake in the beginning and the PIF date for longer sailings is supposed to be 120 days out (150 for suites/concierge). This was not reflected in our original bookings. For this cruise, our date is 4/25, which is 134 days out (120+14), so it seems right. But please just check!

]We should set up a military meet anyways for everyone on the cruise who's either prior, retired, Reserve or in any way shape or form ever been a part of the military.

My DH is ex-Royal Navy so probably would be up for this.

I just got flights from San Juan to Orlando for $33 apiece! Delta Airlines (we get free baggage, too!) via Orbitz. We're flying back on Monday the 22nd to give ourselves a couple of days in Puerto Rico.

Still looking for flights from Orlando to Europe.

That's a fantastic deal Michael !! We still have everything to book ... can't do anything at the moment as one of our group has a passport issue so just waiting for that to be cleared up. Not relishing the thought of booking everything for 9 people.

Well we have some bittersweet news.... We are having to cancel the WBTA :-(. We found out we are pregnant (yay) and due 1 week too late to be able to bring the baby with us. While I normally am super early, we just don't want to chance it and add extra stress to our lives! I'm super excited about baby #3, I am super bummed to not be able to be on board. It has been fun planning and I really hope there is a 2015/2016 WBTA that we will be able to travel on.

Congratulations on the baby news. Shame you can't be on the cruise but it's a great reason

Booking our flights today!!! We will be flying into Stockholm and sightseeing for a few days before heading to Barcelona for a week before the cruise! I found a decent price on a direct flight to STO and 8 1/2 hrs on a plane alone with a 4yr old and 1yr old sound MUCH better than the multiple stops and 18hr day other airlines were showing for BCN! . Sweden is one of the countries I've never been to so I'm excited!

Now to book our apartment in Barcelona and keep an eye out for good deals out of Puerto Rico! It is starting to feel real!

I would be up for a military meet! DH is ADAF but will be deployed and not on this cruise with us.....I however can use all the adult interaction I can get! My kiddos are cute but the conversation starts lacking

Sure! If you've done them before, having one set up in a private area might be better. I'd say let's go ahead and make a list and get something together. it sounds like there's at least enough interest already to make a small group anyways.

Sounds like a good idea! Send a PM to Claire (Pinky166) so she can add the meet and sign-up information to Page 1. As the cruise gets closer, we might want to have the organizers of the different events try to coordinate the meets/events to avoid as much overlap as possible. We may not have much choice as it will depend on what DCL has available and is willing to give us, but we can try. I know on the 2011 the Pub Crawl overlapped with the Champagne Girls meet, which was fine. Some of us were well on the way by the time we got to CG!
