I'm thinking of booking a massage for myself as a birthday present to me :flower:

But prices are about 30% more then what I'd pay at home. Is it worth it? I could do it on one of our sea days and it would nice to have a little bit of me time on day 8 of a 10 day family vacation.

Or would you just spend less and have a massage at home after the trip?

I usually book at least one massage on a cruise and enjoy it but they are more expensive then what I would pay for at home. The problem is I typically do not book massages at home because I don't make the time to do it. Which is why I indulge on the cruise a book a massage. Another low cost option is to book the rain forest room which you can get a day pass for about $14. The Magic's rain forest room isn't as nice as the Fantasy but it is alone time away from kids and relaxing.

I haven't been on the Magic, but the spa on the Wonder is right under the basketball court. I had an expensive treatment with the ceiling being pounded by a basketball the entire time. I have found that in general ship/resort spas have less personalized service at a higher price that similar treatments close to home. It's something to do to help pass the time, but it will be overpriced. There are daily specials posted in the navigator.

I have and wouldn't do it again. I had a bamboo massage because at the time I couldn't find anyone near me that did them and I wanted to try it. It was a great massage, but super pricey and then they ruin it by trying to sell you junk at the end. Next cruise I'm just going to get the day pass.

I did the "alone time" pricey, yes, not something I would get anywhere else. I will definitely be booking it again when we go again. Maybe I just needed a break that bad (very possible) but it was wonderful. And very quiet.

I'm not a spa person, but decided to treat myself on our Thanksgiving cruise on the Magic this past year. Like the PP, I booked "Alone Time" and LOVED it. I would definitely do it again. You get a spa villa all to yourself, including your own (small) hot tub, for about 2 hours. It was a splurge, but I had no regrets at all.

I did the Swedish Massage and it was nice but I really didn't like the upsell / add on sell that they push on you. I get it's part of their job but it was not for me.
It's super relaxing though!

I do it every cruise. I love it. They do a fantastic job and I just tell the person I'm booking with that I don't want the selling at the end and I've never ever had a problem with it. I look forward to my hot stone massages on board!
