Hey Sheri... funny story for ya. I have lived here for about 6 years. It wasn't till November that I drove to Carousel by myself for the first time. And a couple months before that I drove to the Genessee Grand by myself, that was my first time EVER driving up there. I didn't even make it to Great Northern by myself for years. ANd yet I could drive in Atlanta and the metro area just fine..... go figure.
That is funny. You're in Amherst if I remember right. It's a straight shot from there really.

No, I am in Oswego. WHere is Amherst???
Amherst is outside of Buffalo. I wonder who that was?? Well, Oswego's even closer. What is that, like 45 minutes?

45 minutes if that. Yea I am close, but a chicken. Although I may be bold and daring soon and going to Carousel by myself again. Because the weather is nice and I may have a day off. I like shopping by myself, I get to take my time then :) Although I never get to do it.

Good night and good luck.

About the pics and photobucket...what if I have a series of photos...How many pics are you allowed in one post? Is there a rule about that. I don't want any mods 'flippin out' on my little pooh butt. (Yeah, k, that sounds a bit gross).

Grammy ...I know you're away but I'm having choc. mint coffee in my Blue Winnie the Pooh ceramic mug. (It's actually DH's mug, ssshh, don't tell)

PolyJen...I love your avatar...keep the melon part

Javamom,Jamal,Frickles.... :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

MarkyMark
...Sorry to hear about that poor woman. I hope her suffering ends soon.

MummyPoppins...How's your baby this morning? Did his fever break?

Horseypoodleypoohgirl....How's Sky doing?

K, Maelstromers...I'm off :moped: to do some food shopping, ick

sheridac I like your avatar, it's pretty. What is it?

Are you doing more Maelstrom Reports? I thought the last one was cute.

I also wanted to congratulate you on your weight loss. I think that is awesome. That is an incredible amount of weight to lose. My DH has lost about 55 so far. He's worked soooo hard . I'm really proud of him, it's so hard to stick to it. I've lost about 30 and it's taken me 14 months...I think it's taken sooooo long because I despise exercise. :yay:

Kaleb still is running a fever. I'm keeping it down with motrin. He's really cranky. I think it's his teeth...he's getting a lot...at once. :guilty: I hope it's just that and not another ear infection. He just had one a couple weeks ago. He went last week for his 15 month check up and the Dr. didn't say anything about an ear infection...I hate when they get sick days after being at the stupid Dr. office. :furious: A few months ago he went for a check up and like 3 days later started running a fever and had an ear infection. Why couldn't he have gotten it 3 days sooner? We have spent so much in the past year on Dr. visits and prescriptions.

My mom offered to watch the kids yesterday so we didn't have to drag them with us suit shopping. :cool1: We found one at JCPenny's for $99.00. Plus we had to buy shoes, shirt and tie. So it was a little over $200 for all. That's good I guess...except the groomsmen only had to pay $78.00 for their tuxes and shoes. This wedding has turned into one huge fiasco. Which is why I hate weddings.

I exercised again this morning...only DH came by the house and caught me. :yay: I wasn't going to tell him I had been exercising, that way if he said anything about my body being different, I'd know it was for real and not just his imagination. ;) Oh well.

It's a crudy overcast hot and muggy day outside. blech..

Well, I guess that's about it for now.

Ahem, checking in.

Love all the new avatars -
PolyMelonMom - I say leave it like it is - looks good.
Sheridac - very cool Celtic knot
PasleaPooh - yours is new, too, isn't it? Very cute -
HOLY CRAP!!!

I did NOT MAKE that tag fairy/ melon comment!!!
Alright - I just GOTTA know what this is about!

MP - I agree - yucky overcast day here too, and we're supposed to get thunderstorms this afternoon - We really need the rain, but it is going to ruin my Iris blooms (my purple has about 8 blooms out at once - gorgeous!)
PPG - more wedding stories - and let us know how it goes with the 1st wedding hall - surely they can't refuse to give your money back, after THEY screwed up!

I moved ADRs around yesterday to make sure I was going to be in Epcot on Oct 2nd, so I better see some Maelstromers there!

That's all for now - I went to the fabric store yesterday, but decided to go to the REAL fabric store instead of Wal-Mart to avoid the higher math!

Maelstrom!

Hi All!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter. And spent it with family and friends.

We happyhaunts had a great one. A bunch of old university friends, from different parts of the country, came together to celebrate with our family... and the beloved, dreaded General. And The General's cat named... Lotus. Who reminds me of a cat I used to have. At one time. A while ago. We had fantastic time. It was a Gong Show as usual. Calvin suffered a terrible tree climbing injury at West Point when he climbed a massive tree of The General's and decided to quickly descend by sliding down the trunk of it... shredding both his brand new Easter shirt and most of his torso skin. It was disgusting. Looked like someone took a huge cheese grater to him. And it took about a foot and a half of bandage to fix him back up. On the upside... The General is talking directly to me, again. Finally. And not through another person in my family. Heh, heh. She's refusing to return the cat. And I'm pretty sure it doesn't want anything to do with us either, anymore. Because after Calvin recovered from his bodyshred he decided to amuse himself by putting pants on the cat. Yes. Little pants from Build-a-Bear with a tiny tail hole. He managed to dress the cat in pants and a button-down polo shirt. The cat looked ridiculous... and humiliated. I have never wished that cat would have learned to scratch more than I did at that very moment. Poor cat. But, pretty funny. Seeing a cat in pants. Then we had a margarita party. Just like old times, at university, but without Butter Shot. 'Cause we're not so hard core anymore. We dragged out the old embarrassing pictures of me in Day Glo. I had a whole Day Glo wardrobe. Bathing suit, winter coat, t-shirts, and mini-skirt/crop top combo in neon green. Everyone laughed at me. Then I teased Mellyman for his bizarre crush on Mary Lou Retton and her muscular thighs, we remembered going to a 1st year formal with all of the guys wearing thin, leather ties with a piano pattern, crimping our hair for Friday Night Out and kissing madly on the dance floor to Madonna's "Crazy For You". It was really funny 'cause the guy I was kissing was visiting us, too. Heh, heh. Which made it REALLY fun for Mellyman to remember, too. I think. Then we listened to Scritti Politti, Echo and the Bunnymen and PARTIED LIKE IT'S 1999!!!!!!

Wow. I've been gone so long that everyone looks different here. New cool avatars and all. LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa... La La! I miss your smell too. I think??????!!!!!! Where's ZZUBie? I have a great throw-up story for him!!!!! A great one!!

Mel.

Yeah! Melly's back - and another Calvin injury story - poor Calvin. I suppose it's Cosmic payback for the spider, eh?

On a side note, what's with the Flippin Tag fairy...... She only tags you IF you say something witty and funny.....Who made the Tag Fairy the authority on all that is witty and funny? I bet the Tag Fairy doesn't have any melons !!

Who on Earth even remembers Scritti Polliti? I feel like I've been dragged back to the glorious 80's. Acid washed jeans, surfer hair cut, boat shoes and Ronald Reagan. Ah to be 17 again.

I just saw MOMOFMNM's new avatar and I was thinking how confusing it would be to the unitiated. You just know hundreds of non-Maelstroming Disers will see it and wonder what Hawaian word "melon" is. Seriously, can't you hear them pronouncing it in their heads as me-looon?

LaLa: thanks for what you said. It's funny to think we'll be writing new trip reports about the same time again.

Loubon: I've got a question for you. Where did you find your countdown ticker deal? I like the one you have and want to put one in my signature to countdown our upcoming trip.

Anyone, I've got a Yachtsman Steakhouse question. We're planning on eating there when we're suffering through Epcot. Roughly how long does it take to walk there from World Showcase of Horrors?
