The Maelstromers... a FASTPASS! Part 2

Okay, I need MORE help. What is with me this week? At any rate, now that my Sept/Oct trip is all booked and settled, and the JetBlue rates will be out by this Friday, it's time for me to start planning my November trip. Planning to go Nov. 5-12. Sis & I from Sun to Wed, then sis going home and DH and the boys joining me from Weds to Sun. (They have Th & Fr off of school for Veteran's Day.)

Here's my dilemma: I wanted to rent points at BWV or BCV. This is turning out to be impossible (kpk, as you said, probably due to the F&W fest.). Only studios available for that week are at Saratoga Springs. I really wanted to be close to Epcot, and show my sister how much better it is on-site. So, do I do POFQ....Lala? Zzub? or do I go with the Swan because it's closer to Epicot? At least for sis and I, the F&W is a major reason for us being there. Anyone ever stay at the Swan? We were at the Dolphin for 3 nights before our Disney cruise. Not long enough to form a strong opinion either way, tho I've heard good things about Fresh.....??????

I am open to ideas, and I know you, my friends, have lots of 'em. Share, please!?!?

Ash - Are you planning to do the dining? If so, POR or my personal favorite mod - Coronado Springs. If not, Swan or Dolphin.

Well Ash, I loved our stay at POFQ, but I don't think it is significantly easier to get to Epcot than from any of the other resorts. If you can go deluxe, then you may want to consider one of the monorail resorts. That would make it easier to get there, or just rent a regular room at Yacht or Beach or Boardwalk. Otherwise, I would just rent at whatever resort suits your fancy.

If that is the criteria, then I will say that I LOVEDLOVEDLOVED POFQ. Nice and compact, friendly, beautiful, etc. Bus service was very good also.

Sorry I can't help more. Wish I had some DVC points to help you out. Heck, wish I had some DVC points to help me out. I rented at the 11 month mark, but am staying in OKW.

Ash - DW and I really enjoy POFQ. We honeymooned there, so that could be part of our attraction, but I think it is a really nice resort. A little bit quieter than POR as it is slightly smaller.

We've never been to Coronado Springs (hear it is very nice) or the Swan or Dolphin, so I can't comment on those.

We've gotten to the point where if we are in the World, we really don't care where we are staying.

This will be the third time we've stayed at POP in a year.

I prefer deluxe, but since I promised my sister that this wouldn't cost too much, AND it'll be my 2nd trip in 35 days, I feel the need to be frugal. So you Port Orleans people, what's the diff between POR and POFQ? Why is POFQ cheaper?

Jamal - I can hardly wait for dinner. Last night I had an ice cream cone.

Yes these girls are BEAUTIFUL. I will do our (you and me) part of lowering the bar. I am more of a natural women. Scrubbed and squeaky clean. That's me! I do have nice jewelry so maybe that will be a distraction. Plus I will get my legs waxed cause I can't have hooP drooling while I am there. First I am afraid of Paslea Pooh, and my husband does all the drooling a girl can handle. His theory is eye candy is nice but the good stuff is what you actually get to enjoy. Though lately he is enjoying me from 1 1/2 hours away.

A little sideline of an exercise story. I told you all that I bought one of those body balls. This weekend I actually took it out of the box and inflated it. That is the true exercise in this piece of equipment. It has a foot pump to inflate with. One hour and 8 minutes to inflate. When I want a workout I am just going to deflate the ball and reinflate. No other exercise required. One problem with this apparatus is you can't use it to hang clothes on like my treadmill, nordic track, and bike. Those are true modern marvels. Multi tasking at it's finest.

Anybody know the answers to the riddle? I think I have 2 and would be willing to share.

Ash I Liked the POFQ very much its a small resort easy to get to anywhere from any of the buildings. I helped write the POFQ FAQ's on the resort page most of your questions can be answered on the first page but if you have others you can ask and I will see if I can remember.

I don't think POFQ is cheaper, unless they only have view rooms left at POR. POR is bigger, so has multiple bus stops. The resorts share bus service, but the buses always pick up and drop off from POFQ first. At busy times they sometimes send buses straight to POR. POR has a table service rest and POFQ doesn't. POFQ is all one style (old New Orleans) while POR has both Alligator Bayou and the mansions. Anyone else want to chime in with some of the differences?

True story - The UPS guy comes to my house everyday. Same guy for the last 8 years. Know him well. He is not hot. But.... my son told his then GF that I was having an affair with the UPS guy. He told her to just listen to the things we talk about. So one day I am on my way to a funeral, all gussied up as GA would say. UPS guy pulls up and says" I almost didn't recognize you with clothes on". Son and his GF just look at each other.
Fast forward 2 weeks. 4th of July picnic at my place. I invited said UPS guy cause we (DH and I) are very friendly with him. He comes with his SO. A guy! Said GF pulls me aside and says " Did you know your BF is gay" She is a moron and was on my list for the answers to the riddle.

She is my grandsons mother. We have him in an early intervention program.

Whoever asked about POFQ? We stayed there about 7 years ago and loved it. The kids LOVED LOVED the pool. The room was kinda small. It was only 5 of us then. I do remember having a hard time with the buses. It was the 3rd week of September and the buses always seemed so crowded. That was the year Florida had a hurricane coming from the east coast and the west coast at the SAME time. We lived in our ponchos but it was Good Times!!

But before I left, I ventured onto the CB and took the "How evil are you?" quiz. I was only 20% evil. I think it was the gun question that popped me higher (it IS a job requirement). Combine that with the 70% snob and you get ME. You wouldn't think the two were a good combination. (What am I saying? They probably aren't. I'll have to ask my husband. He'll give me an honest answer or else I'll beat him up with my designer bag.)
