The Mad Chatters thread Part 3

Well, sure, but I don't think I fixed you that fast, did I?

Well they said she would need this appliance thing put on the roof and she would have to go in weekly to have it cranked to spread the upper teeth, and then they showed her this head gear thing that she would have to wear; and OMG this thing looked like something Hannibal Lecter wore. This is the guy our insurance sent us too, but there is another here in town who comes highly recommended and they accept our insurance, but they are not a preferred provider. Oh and the cost was a total of 4800 min. up to 5500 max. they would know more once they do X-rays.

Whoa, Mary, that's a rough visit all right!!!! I don't think they have to wear a big appliance like that (I assume you're talking on their head OUTSIDE their mouth?). I know I've read some threads about moms having to "turn the key" on their kid's braces............I think you can get them to spread apart with just braces, not any head appliance.............

definitely get a second opinion! There are so many better ways than that to fix teeth I'll bet. Poor little girl should not have to be subjected to that!

I'm spitting nails with my DH. For the last 3 1/2 weeks we have been without a computer. According to DH we needed to buy a new one which should have been simple but Dh is picky about what he "needs" in a computer. I told him earlier tonight I was going to buy a cheaper computer just for me because I "needed a computer" and must DIS.

Within an hour, he had our old one running.......ugh!! So Im back!

Hi Southernforsure! Glad you're back! We were getting worried about ya!
nothing motivates a man to fix something more than the prospect of having to spend money, doesn't it? But at least you have a comp again and can DIS away!

Well thats what I'm hoping for. We are going to the other guy as soon as I can get in. I was stunned for DD. She was so upset, her stomach was hurting again, just like when we had the bug. I thought she was going to throw up again. She saw that head gear and freaked.

Esp for my dh. He hyperventilates at the thought of spending money. I think I still will buy myself a laptop though. I didnt realize how much I used a computer until I was without one. I never want to experience that again........ :rotfl:

So anyway, one of the 5th grade teachers had said that our AP told her that she was not to chew gum at school. He said if the kids couldn't, she couldn't either and he said it in front of the kids. So, when I realized it was Thursday and there I was in my Friday spirit glory and the kids were to be in uniform, I went to ask if I needed to go home and change................no such luck for me, they said to stay put! :rotfl:

That's what HE said......... :rotfl2:

I told him not to worry, that I'd tell the kids I was modeling for them what they could wear on spirit day (since even that has rules about types of jeans, not sagging, etc).

I have a really old laptop at home and I have a mac laptop for work. Its so nice having that laptop because I can connect to my office comp remotely. So I can work at home next week with ease. Very nice
