The Mad Chatters thread Part 2

Man, I wish I could speak spanish. SO many new doors would be open to me in the job department.

:rotfl: Oh, yeah, the stories! I had one kid crawl through the tunnel in the playground, and somehow got covered in poop! Never figured out if it was his, another kid's or an animal or what.

Then, we made Christmas cookies every year. Even though I told parents ahead of time we'd be doing it and using food coloring for our icing, I still got ones that were mad that they'd have it on their hands..........not their clothes, I was careful to cover, but just their hands. I said to one set of parents as I was dismissing, "I'm sorry, but they got the food coloring on their hands, but it should come off in their bath tonight if you make it a little longer than usual". One mom said, "And are you going to come over and give her the bath?" The poop in the tunnel kept going through my mind.

Some parents are so ignorant.

How did you and your DH meet?

I've learned some from him and my bilingual teacher friends, but I learned the most before we had bilingual classes and I taught all the Pre-Kindergarteners. I HAD to learn it, to communicate with the kids and their parents. When they opened the bilingual section, I lost a lot of it, but have relearned it as I said through my friends.

My poor son never learned any, even though dh uses it a lot at home. I couldn't figure it out for the longest, as I had videos, books, games in Spanish, he had a Spanish speaking babysitter too. I found out when he was in 3rd grade that he has language problems in English........so no wonder he couldn't learn the second language. His 4 year old brother knows more Spanish than he does at 11. He's a bit sensitive about that. I am hoping all the early exposure will help him with it in secondary school.

We met in college. He was a friend of my brother's. I set my sights on him right away and chased him shamelessly. He told me later that he avoided me at first because he wanted to have a good time, and he knew he would have to take me seriously. He said I was the marrying kind, which is almost an echo of what my mom had said when I complained that "good" girls never got the guys, only the girls who my parents called "bad" girls. My mom had said boys like to date those girls, but they don't marry them. Who knew my mom and future husband thought alike? :rotfl:

I was working as a secretary for the president of an architectural firm. Brent was working at the firm, but I worked upstairs and he worked downstairs so I never knew about him. There were about 70 people in the firm. One weekend a coworker who lived in my apartment complex invited me to a poker game at his house. Brent was there too, and we sat by each other at the game. We had fun. He called me a few times and we would talk for hours. Then he finally asked me out on a real date. We ate at TGI Fridays and went to the movies and saw Twister.

So, it would seem proximity is a big factor.................

Hey Ladies! I finally found time for the DIS. I got a message saying my siggy is too full.... And my Belle has been removed. :guilty:

Whew!! Looks like I made it just in time for siggy busting and love stories.
Evening Bonnie and Paige.

Well hello, Denise and Karen!

I got busted for my siggy too! That's why Joey is gone. They said he was too big. :guilty:

Oh, I see! I was wondering about that...

Well my countdown ticker will be gone in a few days anyway....

I also took my Mad Hatter picture off of the link. It looks really bad now.

I guess I'll pimp it up (LOL- Bonnie!) after vacation...

That's right, you're going on a little getaway! Was it to the beach? I can't remember.

Hi Denise

I'm so glad that I am in good company. I see a lot of big siggys out there. Hopefully, everyone is being busted. I trimmed mine back, I guess I'll tweak it some more. Gives me something to do when I'm bored. :teeth:

Karen, I did see a lot of red messages out there today. We werent' alone. :teeth:

Huh. I wrote a reply here and then to a PM, and neither went through and then I was kicked off the boards! Weird.

Anyway, yeah, he did it himself. I wish I had taken more pics when he started. He looked at pics he took of an Epcot painting, but it's just the same general scene.........his doesn't look like the other one. You can see the pics and his sketches on the table.

I had no idea he'd do so much in one night. He'd done the sketching of the Mickey, the mount, and the swirls and then painted them in over a couple of weeks.

He's embarrassed that I posted it..............
