How nice! I love to sing, but those around me don't love it so much when I do.

Yep! :)

You guys are so great.

I used to teach VBS at our old church, but I have offered to help with Sunday School and VBS at this one, and I guess they just don't need the help here. I miss it a little, but it's also nice just to drop the kids off like everybody else for a change, too.

Since Denise isn't here to ask (where has she been lately?), what's for dinner?

I have Lil' Smokies (cocktail weinies) in BBQ sauce in the crock pot right now. Not that Impressive, I realize, but at least it was easy!

Oh man, I love little smokies. Now if only there were mac and cheese on the side.................

There was no lunch here, since we had a late breakfast, ds and I grabbed pbandjs on the fly, and I don't think dh and older ds ate anything.

I do need to get in there and cook SOMETHING. I don't want to do chicken, so somebody give me an idea for something fun with hamburger meat....................

You could put hamburger meat in macaroni and cheese.
:rotfl:

That'd be great for the kids and me, but DH is a bit old-fashioned........he'd want something more dinner-y and not so lunch-y.

Paige, you need to keep a supply of on-sale Hamburger Helper in your pantry for occasions such as this. :thumbsup2

Or make meatloaf.

Bonnie, usually DS makes sure we have Cheddar Cheese Melt in there, but we seem to have run out. Now that he has become an almost exclusive meat eater, those darn noodles must get in his way!

I ended up making hamburgers with mac and cheese on the side. DS1 ate the mac and the meat out of two burgers but not the buns. DS2 ate only half his mac and no burger at all. Neither of them touched the beautiful veggies from my parents' garden that I sliced.

I thought DH wouldn't come to table as he's painting, and usually won't do anything until some magic alarm goes off in his head during that time. He's doing a Fantasmic painting with Mickey on the cliff and water all around. I'll take a pic when he's finished.

Your DH is an artist? That sounds awesome! Yes, definitely do take a pic!

Here's the painting in progress:

He saw a painting like it at Epcot and decided to do his own.................

Wow, it's coming along VERY nicely! Your DH looks like he's off in his own little world. I don't blame him for not stopping for dinner. :)

Yeah, he puts his ipod on and fuhgeddaboutit...............

I'm quite proud of him..............

What does your DH do workwise? Does he paint for a living, or as a hobby?

No, just as a hobby. This is the first real canvas he's done. Always before he'd paint or sketch on copy paper.

He has a BS in psychology and works for a business in sales of computer components. He hates his job. I've tried to get him to go into teaching, but he's afraid of all my stories!

Hee hee! There are some lovely teaching stories, huh? I had two Kindergartners pee on the slide last year. That was VERY thrilling!

He speaks fluent Spanish too. I tell him he's wasting his talents in that job, but apparently he is quite good at it..............so many others would appreciate him more though if he'd just take a chance......................
