Hi guys! Do penguins quack? My 4 year old son is running around the house on his heels, flapping his arms and scream-quacking. He says they quack, I thought they just whistled. It just made me wonder.

BBQ chicken and scalloped potatoes au gratin a la Betty Crocker here for dinner!

I'm great- it was a long day but the energy of the kids keeps you going.

I don't think that penguins quack. I could be wrong though.

It took a LOT of convincing to tell him that not only do penguins not quack, but even if they did they wouldn't scream it.............

He's now a dwarf and mining in the understairs closet with a flashlight.

Brent says that penguins do not quack, they make more of a cooing sound. He saw March of the Penguins with the kids, I didn't go.

Nothing much here. DS is in the bed already. He went to a sleepover and didn't go to sleep until 3:30 AM. Mommy didn't know this until this morning. I'm not a happy camper.

Yep, we brought home the car. I'm so happy to finally have something to drive again. We always have the worst luck with things. We left Vegas with 2 running cars and until today we had 0 running cars! Lame stuff happens to us and we call it the Grizzle curse!

Penguins. My DS is a penguin expert. I asked him to tell me about them and let me tell you, you guys owe me big time

According to my expert, Jimmy (who by the way says he's in the artic studying penguins on his voice mail) all penguins use sounds to communicate.

Chicks in large colonies need to be able to attract their own parents so that they can be fed. Different species make different noises. African, Humboldt, Magellanic and Galapagos penguins all make braying sounds (like a donkey).
Their chicks, in contrast, make a high pitched whistling noise to demand feeding.

The Yellow-eyed penguin makes a trilling sound (not unlike the old "trim-line telephone"). The Chinstrap has a shrill, screaming voice, so loud that it is sometimes called the stone-cracker penguin. The King penguin makes a trumpeting sound.

I had to stop him there.

My girls were at David and Kathy's playing while DH and I were getting the car. They had spaghetti over there. Brent and I had some KFC. I don't eat stuff off the bone, so I had popcorn chicken, my favorite!

I kept in simple tonight. I made BLT's and picked up some sides at the store.

I have never made BLTs; that is a good idea, Karen! I don't like them, but my girls LOVE them!
