I don't know where everyone is!! Well, I must confess that I've been frequenting the Oceangram thread. Also I've been reading a couple other sites that have oceangram threads. I'm a little addicted. But I still love the Mad Chatters the most!

Now where is everyone else? :confused3

Hello. Great day at school. I have 20 of them now, got a new one the first day when I wasn't there. He's fabulous. Only one challenge, and hopefully the others being so good will bring him around. Haven't heard from mom today and dad isn't answering pages at the hospital. They won't tell me if she's still there or not.

Hi Mad Chatters!
Checking in for the first time today. Man it was busy! Tomorrow is going to be interesting too. I have to bring a collective employee greivance to my boss, which makes me the bearer of bad news. I hate that. Oh well
So how was everyone's day?
Paige I'm glad you had a good day at school

Hi Minty, HI Paige.
Paige, I hope you hear good news about your mom soon.
Minty, that sucks to have to bring the bad news.

I didnt' do much today at all. I'm gonna miss days like this once I go back to work. :(

Hi everyone!
Just popping in! I was wondering if Denise had gotten any tags yet? I know she isn't on the boards much so I was hoping the Tag Fairy had paid her a visit!

My DD turned 1 today so we spent time at the picture studio and shopping. Not much you can do with a 1yr old in terms of "celebrating"...

This is a dumb question, but does anyone have a good recipe for potato salad? My dad's wife usually makes it for my DS's birthday, but she told me she is making a pasta salad for DD's. So it is up to me to make it and I've never done it before...I don't even have a recipe! I know I could find one online, but I thought recommendations always taste better!

Hope everyone is having a good day! It's nice to see you on oceangram Bonnie, but I haven't gotten any of your bottles...

Thanks!

Potato Salad

3 pounds potatoes, cooked until just tender, cubed, cooled
5 or 6 hard cooked eggs, cooled, coarsely chopped
1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped red onion
1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped celery, optional
thinly sliced tomatoes and cucumber, for garnish, optional
.
Dressing:
3/4 cup mayonnaise (a little more or less, as desired)
1 to 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
salt and pepper to taste
PREPARATION:
Combine potatoes, egg, onions, and celery. Stir in mayonnaise, mustard, and salt and pepper to taste. (Stir the mayonnaise and mustard in a little at a time, until you have the flavor and consistency you like.)
Top with thinly sliced tomatoes and cucumber, if desired.
Serves 6 to 8

Howdy fellow Mad Chatters.

Looks like we keep missing eachother today. Just stopped in to wish everyone a good evening. I'll try to check back again later. :wave2:

Hi Bonnie.

It was pretty good. I didn't have to do too much. We had a bunch of assemblies on school safety and "getting to know your planner." Very easy day. :teeth:

How was yours? Are you using your free time wisely? :confused3

Getting to know your planner........... :rotfl:

We are having getting to know your deskplate tomorrow............. :rotfl:
Seriously, they have their alphabet, first and last name, directions, shapes both 2d and 3d, colors, ruler in inches and centimeters, hundreds chart and addition chart..................all needs to be pointed out to them or they think it's just a pretty decoration on their desk.

Hi Paige.

"The planner is the most important tool you will have in middle school. It is your pass to the media, the RR, the front office...etc." Blah, blah, blah. The speech is coming out of my ears. :listen:

If that's the most important thing in middle school, I guess I don't have to show up tomorrow. :teeth:

Deskplates sound like fun. :thumbsup2

Ant bites, ant bites, ant bites ant bites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, they got me. I went to move the water sprinkler "lawn maintenance" you know, and I stepped in a pile apparently..............5 fire ant bites on my foot........well, two on my foot and three on my toes or is that the other way 'round? My foot's gone numb now, except for the itching.............at least the stinging is mostly gone. Benadryl and anti-itch creamed to the max.

By the way, my mom is in a regular room now. The dr. told her she had to stay completely off that foot for 3-4 months. She'll have a week of physical therapy before she can come out of the hospital. I know she just hates it, and I wish I could be there the whole week with her. I will have to see about getting back up there this weekend, I guess. I wasn't going to, as the van isn't that reliable and Nick has school on Monday and I do too, of course, but if she'll still be in the hospital, I think I should. She's done it for me, after all!

Hi all! Paige I'm glad your mom seems to be doing better. And it will probably make her and you feel better if you visit this weekend. Sorry about the ant bites!

Hi Karen! Now don't you get any ideas about ditching school this early in the game! Still have 173 days to go! :)
