I'm sitting at the new desk my DH made...it's a little on the high side, but it's okay. It's nice not having to share my chair with one of the dogs!

well...yes and no!

He LOVES to build things. But since he really doesn't have the space for all the fancy tools, the stuff he puts together is pretty simple. We bought some regular kitchen cabinets and are using them as the side pieces, and put a big piece of wood for the top...instant computer desk!

Now, we'll move the desktop PC's downstairs and the treadmill upstairs and hopefully it will all work out space wise!

How was your conference yesterday?

Better than the last time. The best part is going out for lunch afterwards!!! We went to Hooters.......me and my friend, a first grade and a third grade teacher from our building, and a transitional (emotionally disturbed class) teacher from another school we've made good friends with.

I drank two Hooties.........sour green apple margaritas. They were excellent!

You know, I think I've only been to that place like two or three times, and mostly it was a "group" luncheon and that's what everyone else chose!

I have to finish decorating the tree, wrap a couple gifts for the boys for under it, finish my bills and post 'em, and I have to go in to work and get my grades done. Progress reports go out tomorrow.

I spend all my time teaching.............planning and paperwork for the office, notes to parents happen in off times while I'm also emailing my friends...........at home I parent and DIS, so I haven't done much grading. I know where all the kids are, because I'm working with them while they're working.........I could tell you within 5 points what their grades will be, but the actual grading and entering them in the comp gets pushed aside.

Paige...I read somewhere that while folks say teaching is a "part time" job ('cause you have summers and holidays off), that it's a misconception because of all the stuff they have to do in their "off/down" time.

Paperwork is the worst part of any job...but it sounds like it's really alot for you!!

I didn't realize how much teachers did outside of school...I've learned a lot from the teachers here on the board. It bugs me that people give very little respect to teachers...
