What did you think of this movie? I saw it tonight, never read the book. I thought it was an interesting movie, in a good way.

I'm interested too. I read the book and couldn't put it down so wondering how the movie is in comparison.

The book was significantly better.

That being said, it was still a good movie. Lots of good things going for it; great acting, interesting special effects, interesting music. It just didn't have the magic of the book. A lot of reviewers have blamed that on the transfer to the movie - you lose the prose, which was what made the book so good.

My DD finished the book right before she saw the movie. She thought the book was way better.

I feel the same way.

I read the book many years ago and also could not put the book down. Half the time I feel that it would have made a great tv/HBO movie.
