So I wasnt quite sure as to when it was ok to post a Pre-Trip Report, but Ive been stuck at home for a couple of days with a horrible cold (one of many I get throughout the year), so what a better way to spend the time than to write this. Ive spent the last two days reading quite a few TRs, preparing myself for my own. Now on to the main characters of our story
Me-Angie (20)
Lover of all things Disney since the age of two. Been to WDW over 30 times. Parents claim that I freaked the entire time I was there for the first time, and I supposedly threw up on someone resembling MJ from that Captain thingy that used to be in EPCOT. Loves the princesses(with the utmost admiration for Aurora and Belle) and Tinkerbell, cant get enough of the DIS boards, long time lurker, finally joined a couple of months ago. A true bookworm. Nursing student.
DBF-Miguel (23)
Loves all things Star Wars & Transformers-he truly loves the 80's. Loves all the Disney Villians, a great guy, been with me through the wonderful transition from high school to college, and all the fun times in between. Before me, he had horrible experiences with the world (mostly due to that unorganized family of his-I love them but its the truth).
Why are we going? Pssshh as if there needs to be a reason. Usually there isnt, but this time there is. Last year we were supposed to celebrate our second anniversary [we had celebrated our first at WDW so we were trying to start our own little tradition], but thanks to a rather awful hurricane season (the most active Ive ever seen- have lived in Miami all my life), our plans to visit the world for a weekend were crushed by Hurricane Wilma
(boo you Wilma); ended up going to my very first concert -Green Day, so a suitable somewhat replacement for missing out on Disney. Since then Ive been planning this trip. So far 2006 has been my most visited Disney year in a long time, went in January for my mothers birthday (this has become a tradition in the last couple of years, she wont admit it but she loves Disney, especially EPCOT) we stayed at POP, were always a bunch of people and we usually take advantage of the great Florida resident rates.
Then again in March with my mom and sister(who was 6 months pregnant at the time), so for the first time ever we did Disney w/o the parks. Stayed at the CBR for the second time (dont remember the first time very much, except it was freezing [remember Miami blood freezes at a much higher temperature than most] must have been for moms birthday years ago). Did La Nouba for the first time, and have been dying to do it again. DBF surprised me for my 20th birthday, with a week long trip to Disney. Stayed off-site for the first time ever (wow a lot of firsts this year) but through a family friend we were able to rent a villa for $167 for the whole week
(who can pass that up, and it was less than 10 minutes from the entrance of WDW).
On our last trip, we purchased Seasonal passes (we dont mind the block out dates because I cant stand going during the summer) so thats something that we dont have to worry about in our budget. The day the rates for Passholders came out, I jumped on that and reserved two nights at the ASM (October 27th-29th our anniversary is on the 28th). Ok thats out of the way, we would have stayed longer and enjoyed ourselves more but I just recently started nursing school and a weekend away is all I can get. Made only one ADR for our anniversary dinner @ CP, we just kinda wing the rest of it. Were planning on doing EMH at EPCOT on the 27th, MK on the 28th (this is a for sure), and MGM or AK on the 29th. So for now Im just patiently waiting
, filling the free time with The Little Mermaid & Peter Pan and the Starcatchers that I just picked up.
Im off to pick up my LGMHs (did I get that right?) tomorrow, I have a friend that works at Home Depot and was kind enough to grab me some. So 18 days and a three-ish hour ride left to go hope you all will stay tuned for my lovey dovey trip.
