I was just reading on a Johnny Depp fan site that the movie production for "The Lone Ranger" has halted. The article stated that the sets were being torn down and the film crew was pulling out. Wondering if anyone knows if this is a temporary problem or is it permanently finished? I think alot had to do with budget but the film was slated to be released in 2012. I'm not sure how anyone else may feel but I am very disappointed...:sad2:

I'm kind of surprised at this news--Depp + Bruckheimer would seem to be a sure thing--but then, I don't know why The Lone Ranger would need to cost so much money. Of course, I'm sure Disney HAS that money, but they probably got scared off when Cowboys and Aliens didn't do so hot at the box office.

The story supposedly involved werewolves which was the reason for the high budget. I would love to see a traditional Lone Ranger movie but no werewolves, vampires etc. Also this was going to be more of a Tonto centered film so I'd just as soon see them pull the plug until they can do a faithful retelling. They already desecrated the Lone Ranger's descendant (Green Hornet) so if they can't do it right leave it alone!
