Hello to everyone from WDW as we speak! Well technically speaking Windsor Hills. We are more than half way through our trip but I figured with my memory being what it is it would be a good idea to get a good head start on this while my mind was retaining some info.
To introduce myself I am a homeschooling mom of 3 . My husband and the 3 kids accompanied me on this trip. I must add that this was all my idea! lol My kids were not sure exactly what the big deal was about as they hadnt been since they were babies. Boy do they get it now! They are already planning the next trip!
I have so much to tell you about from the planning stages of how this trip almost didnt happen , right on up to the magical moments we were granted and the wonderful people we met and the dreams we had come true. I will also cover how we are considering moving back down in fact. My husband is attending a job fair this coming week at WDW! I have TONS of pics and video. But of course it will take me a little bit to get it all set up. Probaly around a week for the video. The pics I will post as I go along.
One thing I knew is that this trip was so badly needed by this family after such a last rough few years I knew that I wouldnt let anything cancel it! And even though we had some crazy things happen ( for example losing our only working van due to a bad transmission weeks before we left) I knew that we could do it. And we did! We ebayed like crazy and saved and avoided our shopping sprees. It stunk! It was really hard. But we survived. Not without a little crankyness though!
I should also mention we live up north now . We were orginally from central Florida and were born and breed there. My 2 youngest were born up north though. We have been up here 7 years and keep thinking about moving back down. There is so much we have to consider. But I think this is the straw that broke the camels back. We missed it!
I will fill everyone in on weather , lovebugs , the crowds , YOAMD's , Jedi training and more. I took lots of pics . We bought a lot of cool stuff and like a Disney nerd I even saved my reciepts so I will take pics of the stuff we have and lyk where we got it and how much it cost if you are interested.
We also had to deal with food allergies. I will say I was for the most part amazed and shocked at how well we were treated and never made to feel like a burden. We were taken care of very well!
Of all the park's on our visit so far we found the people on this visit at MGM were the friendliest so far. With MK being a second and AK being last. We havent gone to Epcot yet.
Parks were kept pretty clean and even the general public was being pretty polite. A few jerks here and there but I was very happy with how well behaved everyone was.
Crowds and weather definatly fluctuated a LOT> There was never any really long lines and most were walk ons. But I will cover how I noticed certain days and times were worse or better. It was unbearable one minute in the weather and rainy , cool , or breezy the next! Never cold of course! But that cool breeze that came by following or preceding a rain shower was so welcome and definatly took the edge off. So it wasnt so unbearable all the time.
We learned quite a few tips and tricks to make our visit smoother as we went along. I will make sure to include all of that here as well. Especially good if you have food allergies or intolerances .Or younger kids that cant handle all the crazyness and heat.
I will be a bit slow and posting at first because we are still here and we are so dog tired by the time we get back! lol But bear with me and I will get it all up here. If you have any current questions about any thing going on right now just ask and I will find out for you if I dont already know.
Now I should try to rest because as much as we try we keep missing rope drop by 10 minutes!!! lol Its getting to be a joke now. But we will try yet again!
BTW Jedi Training was not taking place this Saturday. I was told it wont be taking place till November. No exact date given yet but I will inquire a bit more. I took pictures of the area were the wall is up . And some of the shop. Great cast member in there that likes to ask trivia questions. We had a fun experience. I will fill you in after. Goodnight for now!
