I did the ketchup but I alo have one better! The ketchup cleans the pennies VERY well. But if you REALLY want to finish them off take a pencil eraser to them. And a NEW LAYER of sparkling color comes to them! I saw this on the internet and it's true!

Great Ideas everyone-

While you are in Tomorrowland at night hop on the Astro-Orbiter, gives another neat view of the park from a higher point.

I thought they close Tom Sawyer Island earlier in the evening, not sure if you can get there for the fireworks.

The last night of our first trip refusing to accept the trip was over, I ended up taking a late night walk from POP to AofA and was amazed at how nice the decor was and the lighting at night really made it stand out. We will be sure to explore it more on our next trip as well as checking out a couple other resorts.

Yes. In knowing about DUMBO I was also figuring that Astro Orbiter would provide the same type of view. \

Twilight in the parks! That is the magical time for me...I don't want to be inside an attraction, store or restaurant when the lights start coming on... MK and Epcot World showcase are my absolutely favourite places, but any park will do. There seems to me to be nothing more beautiful than watching the sunset sky, and seeing a whole new set of colours emerge, highlighted by the warm lights. I could happily sit in one place each evening for that 30 minutes or so while the world transitions from day to night.

Add special person(s) to share the experience and a glass of wine, if possible...a little piece of heaven on earth!

This past trip I happened to be on Alladin's Flying Carpets during the fireworks, and that was pretty cool. Another thing I had never done before was to go to Les Halles for breakfast before World Showcase is offically open. The stroll from the front of EPCOT back to France was wonderfully peaceful and quiet, as everyone else there at rope drop stayed up front in Future World. And there were only 6 or 7 other folks having french pasteries for breakfast, so that was lovely and peacefull as well.

Oh, and I always try to ride Junge Cruise at night but this past trip the Skipper did go totally off script and was a riot!

We accidentally did this recently on a trip to Florida (but not to Disney - gasp!) and now I think we'll have to make it a regular thing: Poly for the nighttime shows. We went about half an hour early, got ourselves some Dole Whip, and camped out on chairs down on the beach (since it wasn't crowded, no resort guests wanted them). You can see the castle changing colour, they usually have a movie of some kind going on, and when Wishes starts they pipe in the soundtrack. Plus at/around the same time, the water parade goes by, which makes for great pictures if your camera can handle night shots. When it was over, we headed back up to our car and drove out without any traffic jams or crowded buses...I think it's the only time we've actually stayed for/watched fireworks at Disney because I startle easily, especially in crowds, and it was the most magical, laid-back evening.

Also, glad to hear that they pipe the music in at the Poly, we're staying there for the first time and were hoping to watch the fireworks on the beach...hearing the music makes it just that much better!

Have dinner at BOG dressed as Belle and something special will happen!!

In the spirit of keeping the suspense I won't give it away unless someone really wants to know!
It was my daughter's best magical moment.

This might be rather odd-stumbled across it by accident...if in MK when raining, (and IF you find getting wet more fun than annoying lol)-you gotta try Astro Orbitor in the rain! Changes the experience completely. DH, DD, and I had SO much fun on our newly discovered "water" ride when there last. We kept hoping it'd rain our other 3 MK nights just so we could bust our ponchos out and head over there. Not to mention dancing in the rain at the dance party nearby when off the ride. The magic continued in getting ice cream and huddling together (soaking wet) in an almost deserted (and this was June) FP area to watch Wishes in the continued rain. Looking back now, that was our favorite MK night EVER; courtesy of (rather than in spite of-for once lol) the rain!!!

I agree with BTMRR during Wishes, but also Splash Mt for Wishes or the parade. You go in and out of the building so much that you can see several parts of each one as you ride. It is difficult to time as well, but worth it!
We also like dinner at Rose and Crown on the patio to see Illuminations. If you can’t get a patio seat, they do have an area reserved for guests to stand and watch as well. This is one of our favorite parts of each trip.
There is also a phone in the entranceway to American Adventure. We happened to be there wearing our anniverary buttons a couple years ago, and the CM working there told us to pick up the phone. It was great!

I love this thread!

I don't think it works at WDW, but one of my best magic moments in DL is watching the fireworks overhead a spinning teacup. The teacups in DL are open air with lanterns strung above but no roof (I think WDW has a roof?) and seeing the fireworks above while riding was amazing.

I love the fireworks from the back of the park, they go off all around you. If it's a holiday or one of the park events there is a couple spots where it's a full 360 and just amazing to be in the middle of them. (some pics of this on the last trip from both mk and HS in my trip report, link below)

This is such a great tip! I had no idea it was open for breakfast. My friends and I were debating what to do for breakfast on our Epcot day and I think this will be the winning answer.

Listen to the phones on Main Street USA and in Tomorrowland.

I know about the phone inside the shop on Main Street. But where is the phone in Tomorrowland?

I love Magic Kingdom late at night. After Wishes I love to try and ride Splash Mountain, if you time it right you can see the second Electrical Parade when you float out of the mountain (and again just before the big drop!)

One thing I must do when I go back next year is find the lost property for the Magic Kingdom railroad. Apparently there's loads of hidden gems there like Aladdin's lamp and Mary Poppins umbrella but I'm not sure which station they're at.

I had a FP planned once for the fireworks on Splash just to see what it was like & I loved it!

The 'Lost & Found' for WDW RR is at the Frontierland station queue. Not sure about everything that's there from Mary Poppins but there is also a prosthetic leg with the name Smith written on it. Lol!

It's always fun to pull the rope on top of the collapsed mining area that is located next to the Indiana Jones theater (to the left of it if you're looking at it).

Having dinner at BOG while dressed as Belle during MNSSHP was very magical. I am 22 and was never able to go to Disney as a kid so it was extra special to be able to dress up and feel like a princess for the night.

A surprise bit of magic at the backlot express in HS. Apparently we got a special tray and got a free cupcake. It was the perfect little bit of pixie dust to start off our trip.

I love riding the monorail after a day in the parks and just enjoying being on Disney property.

We asked once to get autographs at Tony's, and the CM -- who was foreign -- was really confused, and hadn't heard about it before. Fortunately, DD was 14, so I could explain without spoiling the "magic." But, when she brought the autograph book back, she had signed it as "Laddy and the Thrump."

We found another CM who got us the proper autographs, but we always refer to them now as Laddy and the Thrump.

My mom and I's favorite tip is more about making the magic for others but it still applies!!! If you are going on Soarin' and you're waiting in the regular line or a longer FP+ line, try to make friends with the family nearby who is new. We then "absorb" them into our group and tell the CM that we are all waiting for B1 seating and they usually have you stand off to the side and wait for the seats at the top of Soarin' with no feet above you and right in the middle of the screen!!
