So,
I bought The Lion King on DVD from a website I found that specializes in selling vaulted Disney movies and Disney classics. I was wary of the site but The Lion King was on sale for 13.97 so I figured I'd use my leftover "play money" to purchase it, not really expecting anything.
I got it in the mail on Friday, and, well
... the case insert wasn't exactly printed crisply (a small symbol on the back of the case for the Canadian home video rating is actually blurred so that you can't read it), as if it was printed on a very nice personal/office printer, but certainly not professional. There's an image on the inside of the case insert, and it's really pixelated. Also, there's no booklet in the case. Did the Canadian edition come with a booklet?
Also, the inside of the case smells *awful*, like superglue and hate. And shame. And skunk.
I rather think it's funny--I've never bought a bootleg before, and I was wary/curious about the site to begin with. My husband and I laughed as soon as we opened the package. However, I can't help thinking that some poor Disney fanatic is going to purchase off the website and be upset that they didn't get the real thing. Oh, yeah, and that whole "honesty" thing, too ... so I'm thinking I should report it.
Would you report it? If so, to whom? And here's a stupid question: I won't have to give the DVD to the person I report it to, will I? I know it's an (alleged) illegal copy, but I *did* pay for it ...
Thanks in advance for the advice! I'd love to post the site it came from but don't want to get myself in trouble ...

Yeah, I figured as much. I'm sure the DisGods will show me mercy because I didn't know it was bootleg (I thought already opened, perhaps), and I'll live to see another day ... then I can wait it out until The Lion King is un-vaulted.
