I just saw The Lion King at the Pantages in Hollywood on Thursday night. The show is incredible!!! If you are headed to the Disneyland Resort, I highly recommend taking some time out of your schedule to see it. Even my non-Disney loving DH is still talking about it.
For daytime performances, you can take the train into Los Angeles. Then you hop on the Metro Red Line and the station is right across the street from the Pantages. Night performances require private transportation.
We ate at a new restaurant called Hollywood and Vine Diner located at the intersection with the same name. The food was great - DH had the seared Ahi and I opted for Halibut. Other items on the menu included steaks, pot roast, salads, and pasta. Our meal was about $55 and included alcohol and a shared dessert.
