THE LIBERAL THREAD #3- No Debate Please

I have a new working definition of irony this morning;

In the last 24 hours over on the Conservative thread, one of the diehard Bush faithful referred to a Democrat as a "filthy liar".

If that wasn't so sad, it would be funnier.

Wow! I can't believe you just typed that, because one of my first thoughts when I saw it was that if it wasn't so funny, it would be sad!

I guess there's no need to take a multivitamin this morning. Clearly I've already had my minimum daily adult requirement of irony......

Don't they always claim to be above all that? lol. I don't even look over there anymore. I hear enough immature nonsense IRL.

I've heard some rumblings from a few media pundits that Hillary has to win Indiana in a big way to stay viable. And this statement came from the Hillary supporters, not the Obama camp. Interesting, I thought.

Oh yes, they are above all that and are so mature. That's why one of them fabricated that Obama supporters were calling posters on the Hillary thread stupid.

Well, they can talk to themselves from now on, as far as I'm concerned. They aren't interested in debate anymore. They merely want to dismiss and belittle anyone that disagrees with them. With a few exceptions who tend not to be so judgemental, they deserve each other.

I post there once in a while-I did today because I wanted to comment on McCain taking the high road on the NC RNC ad. There are still a few exceptions to the really partisan folks there, but a couple of the people I liked the best are no longer with the firm.

Yup. When it ceases to be fun, maybe it's time to move on.

Was just in my car for lunch, and while waiting in line at the drive-thru, my XM cut out, so I switched over to AM...and Bill-O was interviewing the state Republican chairman (chairwoman) from North Carolina. A couple observations:

- Bill-O basically slammed her for ignoring McCain. :lmao:
- The woman is a complete idiot. I was really shocked someone that sounded that stupid could rise to the office she holds.
- They're still running the ad, starting Monday.
- She says the ad isn't targeting Obama, but rather two Obama supporters that are in the Gubernatorial race.

I found it a rather interesting interview, and was stunned at how badly the falafel-master was beating up this lady. :thumbsup2

I'm also impressed that McCain at least says publicly that the ad is disgusting. Has anyone heard Hillary's camp say anything about it? :rolleyes1

Good for him. His supporters should take a lesson. Not surprising though that a lot of them actually look forward to the negative campaining. That in itself says a lot. :sad2:

And he though he said pull the ad, he still gets to reap the benefit of the ad while looking like he took the high road. But at least coming out against the ad is the step in the right direction. One day, maybe it will be about the issues. Sigh...

Sad to say, but the evidence is that negative campaiging works. Hillary goes negative, she wins PA. GW goes negative, he beats John Kerry. There are more examples that that, of course, but those are the first ones on the top of my head.

Both McCain and Obama seem to want to take the high road. Let's see if it actually happens. It would certainly be refreshing.

I would love to see it happen, because I think as a nation we should be above that stuff.

Torturing animals to death works just as well as braining them quickly and as humanely as you can "brain" something ( ;) )....but that doesn't make it right. :teeth:

I honestly think that a McCain-Obama matchup this fall will, for the most part and with the exception of the 527's, be a fairly positive, issues oriented campaign. I don't think McCain will go negative in a big way, and Obama hasn't so far despite....

...never mind. ;)

Hey, did you guys know that the rise in gas prices was the fault of the Democratic congress???

Bill Maher had a great line this week: If we elected Col. Sanders President and the price of fried chicken doubled during his term...would that make you go :confused3

Sure...it has absolutely nothing to do with the Republican controlled Congress' move, at a special request by everyone's favorite energy trading conglomerate, Enron, to deregulate the energy markets back in 2000. Naw...it's got to be those pesky libs and their shameless $.18/gallon in Federal taxes!! What a knee-slapper!!

You mean Bush and Cheney aren't there just because they want to serve their country and their fellow Americans? How disillusioning! :rotfl2:

I've noticed "The Loofah Lothario" is taking a softer tone towards Obama. Maybe he's trying to hedge his bets and may want to jump ship if Faux News finally get's flushed.

As far as the GOP ad, it is targeting 2 people who have never met Wright. This bimbo wants them to denounce someone they never even met. What the hell is the point? Is the point you have to denounce everyone you've never met because they may've said something objectionable? She truly represented the GOP at it's best.

It isn't so much negative as stupid. The 2 candiates the ad is directed towards have never met Wright, but did endorse Obama. Hey, we all know what that means. :lmao:

How stupid can these people get? Evidently, pretty damned stupid.
