The Lesser Known Eighth Dwarf, Dumpy, Comes to Disney Aug '11 **NEW 2/20 TR link!!!

Hurrah! I'm batting .375. Only room to improve (or decline, as is more likely! ;))

I hope your dog is better!

I feel like Olive Garden is packed always; it's always one of those 'well, there's nothing better to do' restaurants for us (usually when we go out with friends). Then we see the line and go somewhere else (better, though without unlimited breadsticks :rolleyes1)!

Coronado Springs is so pretty - I love the lanterns and all the tilework. And the bedding! White sheets are the best, and even though the tiffany blue/chocolate color scheme has been kind of overplayed (I read a lot of design blogs ), it looks really soothing here.

Paper tickets are my favorite! Can they take tickets off the Key to the World and make paper ones? We were originally going to purchase tickets on arrival for our December trip so I could get paper ones, but then free dining came along.

I love that feeling you described at Raglan Road - so calming and energizing at the same time.

Wow, I must say I did better on the first round than I expected. I'm pretty sure I got nothing right  I think I'm starting to feel competitive

Great start! I think if you can make me so hungry I feel sick in one update and not just one update, THE FIRST, this is going to be a pretty awesome TR. :thumbsup2 The food you got at Olive Garden does look very good, though it isn't Disney food (:

That's funny Stitch had to have a little bag watch going, to make sure they were on the plane, but I can understand. I think my parents have me scarred for life after telling me about how luggage get lost on my FIRST, emphasis on FIRST, flight. Though it hasn't happened yet :goodvibes And your flight seemed to go rather smoothly and your bags made it to the resort with you, no worries about being lost on DME. And I can't believe you actually went into the WWOHP store without buying anything. I don't think my Potter-obsessed self could handle it Haha

That's great CSR was the first stop on the bus route! (: Always nice to get right into the full-on Disney experience earlier than other people Haha I'm sorry though you had to see that ugly site with the tour group... I can't even imagine. Glad to see all your room requests were honored :thumbsup2 The view seems nice, even though, it is towards the parking lot.

And more food pictures *drools* Glad to see they both were good choices. The pictures of them seem to tell the truth Hahaha

Off to DTD! (: I love all the artwork in the Art of Disney store. Someday I will own one of them. And that guy looked like a piece of art himself, cool lights, dude! ;)

Good to see it didn't rain for too long and you got some nice pictures of the lego sculptures very cool. (: :thumbsup2 to taking a boat ride to pass time, I'm sorry you didn't get to show Stitch POR, but you had FOOD to eat :rotfl:

That's so nice that they have live music at Raglan Road while you eat. I've always wanted to visit Ireland, so... that sounds like a place to look into and the food looks great too. That Dundon's Delight looks delicious, Yum!

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Okay, you're going to laugh, but Olive Garden is one of our "must dos" DH loves it and I enjoy the wine there! We live in a small town with no good dining, I know it's not fine dining, but we just don't have it where we live, and the price is right!:thumbsup2

wow, so much stress with your doggie - is everything okay now?

I see I did pretty well - I didn't see any other Raspberry anythings on the menu, so thank you for allowing some credit for Raspberry! :thumbsup2
I'm glad you enjoyed RR so much. We need to do that one next time!
OOOO, I can't wait to read your next update - looks like a yummy one!

Jen don't forget there is an Olive Garden being built right next to the Outlet Malll !!I think they have a lunch special for around $8 all the soup sald and breadstix you gan eat !!!!!

Since we are discussing Olive Garden, we live in a town that has one but my elderly parents live 150 miles away without one. They LOVE Olive Garden! Several years ago when visiting them, I stopped on the way out of town at Olive Garden and got a takeout for each of them. They were very surprised and very delighted. Now, every time I visit, if I don't walk in with that big bag, you can see the disappointment on their faces! Mom tells me that I don't have to stop and get something each time (just being polite) but Dad tells her if she doesn't want anything - fine, but he does and he won't share if she tells me not to get her anything! :rotfl2:

See, your parents know what's good! :goodvibes

Well I di pretty poorly in that round !!!I should have guessed the dessert as I too raved about it last October when Carol and I had it and she wanted to lick her plate it was sooooo good I sure hope they have it agin in October !!
Rosie, I thought this was another contest that you were going for the bestest-worstest title..... :rotfl2:

Well I didn't do too badly, only being two behind the leader. At least I did better than Rosie and Dan!!! I went back and read through your PTR but apparently it wasn't the be all, end all.

I dunno Marv.... you should've been the top scorer ;)

Oh yeah, I see how it is......... :guilty:

Olive Garden is good, especially if you order the right thing(s) but like I said about your next trip down, we think Carrabba's OR Romano's Macaroni Grill is much better!

I'd love to try those places. I'm always up for something new.

Hey, I did pretty good!

::yes:: Bravo!

Wait a minute, you got the wrong dessert! Every review I've read said that you're supposed to get the bread pudding at Raglan Road. :headache:

I've never been a fan of bread pudding. So you're wrong Glenn :rotfl:

Reading about you check-in, it reminded me that I should have told you to look for the cast member (Stephanie) who works at the front desk at CSR and has a Mickey-shaped engagement ring.

Darn! I would've loved to see that ring. I forgot you stayed at CSR last trip too.

I'm glad your dinner put you in a vacation mood after all the stress you went through leading up to it.

Thanks. It was a welcome relief.

Well I di pretty poorly in that round !!!I should have guessed the dessert as I too raved about it last October when Carol and I had it and she wanted to lick her plate it was sooooo good I sure hope they have it agin in October !!

Don't worry Rosie. There's still lots of chances to catch up. And Marv keeps doing this bad you'll be at the top in no time! :rolleyes1

Sorry you didn't think Olive Garden was that great. I love it there but then again I love any Italian food. haha

I'm thinking maybe it was what I ordered. The price was right but I guess I was expecting something with a bit more oomph in it. I'll give it another go one day.

WOOT, you made it to Florida! I know what you mean about getting sidetracked at the Universal store. Lots of fun stuff there.

Most definitely! It's especially interesting since I haven't been to Universal since I was little.

Wow, the lobby of CSR is really pretty! I've only ever seen that resort from the outside and it's usually only from the ME bus.

It's a lovely resort. I've got loads more photos to share.

haha, that guy in the wheelchair with all the lights is funny. Might as well put lights on your wheelchair if you're in WDW!

So true! He was having a good time... I guess whatever makes you happy.

Great update!! CSR looks so beautiful! I'm so happy you enjoyed RR, we're having our first meal of our trip there this coming Sunday....it's one of our favorites!

Have fun at RR! Can't believe you'll be there this Sunday.

CSR looks so beautiful, I really love the rooms there! I keep thinking the next time I stay in a mod, it's going to be CBR, but I think CSR looks nicer! :)

I like CSR more as an adult resort. Not to say I don't love CBR - it's fun and colourful. But CSR I find much quieter. I don't think people consider it much which makes it a much emptier and quieter place to stay.

Raglan Road looks like so much fun! I wish I had time to fit it into my trip!

Someday you should. It's worth every second.

YAY! Great arrival day post!
I love Raglan Road, mostly because I love the celtic music too!
I think every single answer of mine was wrong... hahaha. Oh well.
Looks like a beautiful start to the trip!

Yay another celtic music fan  I'm waiting for Stitch to make me a whole CD full of that music. She promised me she would as soon as we left RR that night. Don't worry about not getting the answers. There's still lots of chances!

I didn't do so well that round but it looks like you had a good day! I can't wait for more! :)

It was a great way to start the trip and we hadn't even gone to a park yet.

I am SO in!!! I'm a little late, sorry!

:welcome: Hey... I think I started reading your TR and noticed you were there the same time we were!

On our past trip I got to DHS at 8, even though it opened at 9, and literally sat on the turnstyle for an hour. I appreciate your touring style.

:thumbsup2 Love it!!!! See! I'm not crazy!

Raglan Road looks great! I really want to go there someday.

It's a hidden gem.

Hurrah! I'm batting .375. Only room to improve (or decline, as is more likely! ;))

Always room to improve ;)

I hope your dog is better!

She's much better thanks. Back to her crazy, psychotic self.

I feel like Olive Garden is packed always; it's always one of those 'well, there's nothing better to do' restaurants for us (usually when we go out with friends). Then we see the line and go somewhere else (better, though without unlimited breadsticks :rolleyes1)!

I'll remember that for next time. I seemed to have missed out on these unlimited breadsticks! We hardly touched them.

Coronado Springs is so pretty - I love the lanterns and all the tilework. And the bedding! White sheets are the best, and even though the tiffany blue/chocolate color scheme has been kind of overplayed (I read a lot of design blogs ), it looks really soothing here.

These rooms are much classier compared to how they used to look. They've really cut down on the bright Mexican theme.

Paper tickets are my favorite! Can they take tickets off the Key to the World and make paper ones? We were originally going to purchase tickets on arrival for our December trip so I could get paper ones, but then free dining came along.

I'm not sure if you can take them off but I know you can't put them on if you buy tickets seperately. I asked the CM if I could put my ticket onto my KTTW card but he said straight up that I didn't want to do that. Apparently it could mess everything up with your hotel room and tickets. I didn't want to risk it so I just put up with the multiple cards.

I love that feeling you described at Raglan Road - so calming and energizing at the same time.

I think the music really helped. I've always found Celtic Irish music to be relaxing. I'll definitely be going back there!!!

See, you never know until you try.

Great start! I think if you can make me so hungry I feel sick in one update and not just one update, THE FIRST, this is going to be a pretty awesome TR. :thumbsup2 The food you got at Olive Garden does look very good, though it isn't Disney food (:

Yay! I'm glad you like it so far.

Stitch made me a bit nervous about the bags but thankfully nothing happened. I guess it's better to worry than not and have your bags disappear. It was very hard not to buy anything in WWHOP, let me tell you! We had to literally convince each other to leave :rotfl:

That's great CSR was the first stop on the bus route! (: Always nice to get right into the full-on Disney experience earlier than other people Haha I'm sorry though you had to see that ugly site with the tour group... I can't even imagine. Glad to see all your room requests were honored :thumbsup2 The view seems nice, even though, it is towards the parking lot.

At first I didn't hear the bus driver say our resort so I got worried we got on the wrong bus! It's a good thing it was our first stop or else I would've had an anuerism. I loved our view. The parking lot never seems to bother me because I know it'll be quiet.

And more food pictures *drools* Glad to see they both were good choices. The pictures of them seem to tell the truth Hahaha

Everything was delicious!

Off to DTD! (: I love all the artwork in the Art of Disney store. Someday I will own one of them. And that guy looked like a piece of art himself, cool lights, dude! ;)

I'm thinking once I make a bajillion dollars I'll buy all those paintings and decorate my mansion walls with them.

Good to see it didn't rain for too long and you got some nice pictures of the lego sculptures very cool. (: :thumbsup2 to taking a boat ride to pass time, I'm sorry you didn't get to show Stitch POR, but you had FOOD to eat :rotfl:

I got worried when it started to rain. I thought it might rain our whole trip.... It was nice to rest on the boat ride.

That's so nice that they have live music at Raglan Road while you eat. I've always wanted to visit Ireland, so... that sounds like a place to look into and the food looks great too. That Dundon's Delight looks delicious, Yum!

If you want to visit Ireland, this will give you a good taste of their culture.

Okay, you're going to laugh, but Olive Garden is one of our "must dos" DH loves it and I enjoy the wine there! We live in a small town with no good dining, I know it's not fine dining, but we just don't have it where we live, and the price is right!:thumbsup2

I won't say I hate OG after one visit. I'm willing to give it another go. It sounds like you and your DH love it!

wow, so much stress with your doggie - is everything okay now?

She's back to her old self! I'm sooooo thankful.

I couldn't say it was wrong because the menus for RR online aren't always up to date or correct. So if you were close enough I gave the point :goodvibes

Jen don't forget there is an Olive Garden being built right next to the Outlet Malll !!I think they have a lunch special for around $8 all the soup sald and breadstix you gan eat !!!!!

Wow! That's super cheap. Me and you should give it a try when it opens :thumbsup2

:rotfl: You're Dad sounds amazing. I swear I'll give it another go! I need suggestions on what to order though....

What a great arrival day!!! Raglan Road is on my list of "figure out a way to visit" on our trip....especially after seeing your photos!:thumbsup2

What a great arrival day!!! Raglan Road is on my list of "figure out a way to visit" on our trip....especially after seeing your photos!:thumbsup2

Oh you really should. It would make a nice addition to the other great restaurants you'll be eating at :goodvibes

Olive Garden is good, especially if you order the right thing(s) but like I said about your next trip down, we think Carrabba's OR Romano's Macaroni Grill is much better!

I agree with Marv 100% on the above!

Sounds like a great first day! I am glad you got your room switched to a more desirable area. We stayed at POFQ in January and we were not overly impressed - the food court had issues and the buses never seemed to be right. The grounds were beautiful though! We will have to try Raglan Road some day thanks to your review! Jordan (my DD) is an Irish dancer so I bet she would really enjoy it.

ahh nuts, i thought since this was a canadian TR that i was suppose to guess the opposite of what we americans would do on the trip...;)if that was the case i would have only gotten 1 wrong...but now i understand the rules...

so i will try harder next time.

:thumbsup2

I agree with Marv 100% on the above!
I just love a woman with great taste.......and wisdom! :goodvibes
I dunno Marv.... you should've been the top scorer ;)
Yes Ma'am. I'll try to do better!
I'd love to try those places. I'm always up for something new.
We have had very good experiences at Olive Garden also. To me Carrabba's is a little bit better. We avoided Romano's Macaroni Grill just because we were confused by the name and never checked a menu. When I moved Matt to Virginia we ended up deciding to try one since it was right there available and we both loved it. It is actually a step up for Italian food to me, and very good! I actually have favorite dishes at each one of them though, so it really depends what I'm in the mood for.

Jen We definately should try Olive Garden when it opens !! Anyone else care to join us !!:confused3:worship:Oh I better not forget Dan this time he was upset I didn't tell him about our first meet!!!:sad1: Also there is a Carabbas in Amherst !!Dan and all the staff went there for Christmas last year !!It is pricey but very good !!:cloud9:

Hard as this is to say I agree with Marv:lmao: Carabbas is a cut above OG!!!!

I agree with Marv 100% on the above!

Good to know!

We were pretty fortunate with buses this trip but I can't give too much away.... Oh if Jordan is an Irish dancer she will LOVE RR.

ahh nuts, i thought since this was a canadian TR that i was suppose to guess the opposite of what we americans would do on the trip...;)if that was the case i would have only gotten 1 wrong...but now i understand the rules...

Yeah you better :snooty:

I just love a woman with great taste.......and wisdom! :goodvibes

And a woman who calls you Marvacle, right? ;)

Yes Ma'am. I'll try to do better!

Good man.

I've never heard of Carrabba's but I just looked it up and it looks delicious. I'd love to try it. You'll have to let me in on your favourites.

I thnk I am in the running for that title again !!:lmao::lmao:

:rotfl2:

Sounds like a plan Rosie! Are you busy first weekend of September?

I have never been to RR, but everytime I walk by, I look in like I should be there! Beer and I are friends. :rotfl:

And yea, my indecisiveness kinda worked out for me - I thought I would do worse! Even I didnt remember what I had chosen!

Cant wait for the next update, and I am happy your pup is better!:goodvibes
