OK, what are the crowds like? I was doing some research yesterday and was shocked to see that it's such a high point season. How does WDW justify that? There must be people coming from somewhere, but where? Isn't it still too early for spring breaK?

We'd like to book our next trip for the last two weeks in Feb 05. Because of teacher inservice days - our kids would not have to miss one day of school and we'd still get six nights, five full days in, but I gave up long lines a LONG time ago. :teeth:

Peace,
Viki

Ah! I just answered my own question. President's Day Weekend!!!

According to the calendar I found on the internet President's Day 2005 is on the 21st. I was wondering about this also because I plan on going the following weekend 2/26 and hope the crowds will be thinned out. Anyone know?

i agree, there arent big crowds and the weather is good, not too hot or not cold either...perfect, you'll have a great time. You'll have a great time anyways, you'll be at WDW!:teeth: ::yes:: :earsboy:

We went this past Feb. 21-28. We had a great time but it was more crowded than I expected. I guess some of the schools up north were having their winter breaks. The weather though was very bizarre. The week started off hot and we had to wear shorts. But by the end of the week it was very cold. We wore jeans and sweatshirts and some in our group were still too cold (they even made us return to the hotel early one night :( ). My advice is to follow an itinerary like the Unofficial Guide offers to manage the crowds and pack clothes for both warm and cold weather. Like I said we had a great time, so much so that we are headed back again next month! :teeth: Have a great time!!

WE went at the very end of Feb a few years ago and man was it cold!! And we are from Minnesota!!! We did not bring our winter coats--just spring and we were sure sorry. In every picture of me, all you can see of the baby is a mass of blankets. I carried him in the front pack with several blankets layered over him!

The crowds were good, but the weather was a lot colder than I expected. My poor kids!

In the Boston area most public schools are on break the week of Presidents Day - I am fairly sure that is a typical break time in New England, but some others would know from other NE states.

Some local private schools have the week after President's Day. President's Day week has always been a crowded time at the World because lots of kids do have that week off for winter break. Not colleges, elementary and high schools :)

We planned around it and tried not to go that week due to the crowds - not like the 4th of July, Christmas or Easter, but maybe 4th in line for crowds.

Hope this helps!

Thanks all. We already pulled the kids out for six days of school with our Sept trip from which we just returned. I can't justify anymore of that and I really don't like crowds (did too many of them when I hosted northern vacationers through the early 70s - 2 hour waits in the Fla sun for one ride, no thanks!). So we're thinking about banking our remaining pts and having a big blow out vacation in the early part of next December. We've never done the parks at that time and we hear they are awesome.

Peace,
Viki

WoW, Viki, that sounds like a great vacation and will be fun to plan and look forward to!!

Enjoy!
Christine
P.S. We've never stood in line for more than 20 mins even during the summer, but we never go during the busiest time either. When the kids were in school we'd go end of July or 1st week of August. There seems to be a lull around that time and then picks up again around the 2rd week of August,so we skipped that and went the 3 rd week. We've also done long weekends in late Jan, early Feb and early March - March being an incredible time there - a little quiet and loads of seniors, but the weather was perfect!

This is only my second time there in September and later than the other time, but the parks will still be open in the evening which is great. Not as much fun when MK closes at 6 and there are no fireworks.
