The Last of something

As for food, we have a rule in my house that if you use the last item, you leave the empty box, container, etc on the counter so I can see it or write it on the shopping list or come to the grocery store with me.

Can I just say...I can't stand pulling out an empty box of "whatever" from our cabinets. HELLO - at least take the time to put it on the counter so we know it is gone.

I will have to admit...now that DD has her license - she stops by the store after her practice at least 1 time a week to pick up her necessities. So - I am at least thankful for that!
