We are going to see my son the CM and do one last run at the parks.Son is moving to Florida to work at DW guess we'll see all the stuff in Florida.I just wanted to thank everybody for their help and trip reports.

We are going to San Francisco, anybody got Fishermans Warf restaurant recomendations?Got to see the Disney Museum, Alcatraz, etc.

We may go see son in Florida after he settles how weird will that be both parks in a summer.

I will miss the stops in Las Vegas.Oh well one last stop.

Thanks again for the memories.See you at the World.

How exciting!
Off to new adventures for your family.
I have no suggestions for you but just want to say Congrats!

Hi, we had a lovely meal last week at a restaurant called Scomas, located on the warf.

How exciting for your son! So lucky that you get to visit so often! Thanks for all the trip reports, have fun on your new adventures!

Good luck to your son! I enjoyed reading your insights while he was at Disneyland.

Now you all are on to more adventures. :)

I'm going to semi-hijack this thread. I just checked to see if the places I remember are still at Fisherman's Wharf, because I've become more of a Mission person. There are so many chains! I can find an Applebee's anywhere, don't need it there. And while Bubba Gump's could be kind of cute there because of the theme, ugh, there's a Hard Rock and Rainforest Cafe too. Not to mention Ghirardelli and Ben & Jerry's (I guess those are SF originals) and a Coldstone Creamery. To top off the disappointment, Neptune has terrible reviews on Yelp and the Italian place (Alioto's, I looked up the name) doesn't have great reviews either. Although I did discover Buena Vista Cafe, originator of the Irish coffee, but overall, very disappointing.

Good luck to you and your son. I am a newer poster, but I lurked for a long time, and it was always clear how proud you are of your son the CM and how much you enjoyed going to DL and getting to visit with him. Hope your new DW adventures are just as great! pixiedust:

Oh, fun!! You'll get to experience a whole new realm!! And don't worry, I'll bet you'll be back :)

Thanks for your fun posts! I always enjoyed them, and as the previous poster mentioned, your pride in your son was heartwarming.

Good luck! Who knows--you might end up in Paris next!

Make Alcatraz reservations!!! Alcatraz is nothing something you can just show up and do. Often they are booked a month in advance so check online and see if you can get tickets.

Have a great trip. :)

I think it was called "The Fog City Diner"
Down the Embarcadaro. It was an old cable car or something. It was really good.
If you're a meat eater, the House of Prime Rib is great.
Also, if you are a drinker, there's a bar on top of the B of A building, 52 floors up.
You can see everything.
Sounds like your wanting seafood, just walking the wharf you'll find lots of grab and walk foods. Steamed crab, chowder and the best sour dough french bread.
Enjoy

Disney World? You'll be visiting a far better place. Well, you wont' think that if you go in the summer. But those winter trips to WDW will be amazing.

I loved that place, best mac & cheese ever! It was a box car diner. Apparently it closed last year and reopened as a regular restaurant, known as just "Fog City." I haven't been back yet. The food was good, but honestly, the decor was the big draw for me. I'm going to try it, I just don't have any SF trips planned any time soon.

Fisherman's wharf doesn't have the best food. Head down to the ferry building area for better choices. You can take the historic F train Street car between Fisherman's wharf and the ferry building.

Have fun at the Parks Barry Browning!!!:thumbsup2

Please tell your son "Good Luck" and "Best Wishes" in his new endeavors!

Try to come back and let us all know how you like Walt Disney World!

Thank you for your past reports, and the admiration for your son that you shared with us---he's a lucky young man!:)

Alioto's Restaurant is very nice. Very tasty dining, with wonderful views.

I also very much like Neptune's Restaurant, it is upstairs at Pier 39.
Beautiful views of Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge and the bay. Nice menu.

It's fun to visit the California Sea Lions at K Dock at Pier 39.

The Butterfly is a very nice restaurant. It is located a bit down from Fisherman's Wharf, along the Embarcadero at Pier 33.

I love as well The Palomino, located at 345 Spear Street not far from the Embarcadero, near the financial district.

I really enjoy all of these restaurants!
And are also favorites of mine.

Happy Dining!

Thanks you guys for the tips.Several of his friends moved to DW the rent is way cheaper, pay is a little less.Maybe we will get to Universal to check out HP and all that.

I am excited here to hit Las Vegas one more time too as well as San Francisco.

Aliotos and Scomas are my 2 top recs for the Pier/Wharf area, but as one PP stated it's getting way too commercial with chains, etc.

For the best mac & cheese in the world, head over to Homeroom in Oakland. I'd also recommend Le Cheval in Oakland. As you can tell, you can take the girl out of Oakland, but you can't take the Oakland out of the girl :)
