Tom, 29, hates to admit that he is a kid at heart!
Tam, 28, (me) LOVES everything Disney, cant get enough
Mike, 10, Loves the fact that according to Disney he is an adult.
Abby, 7, Loves the fact she is going to Disney for the first time, but hates the
fact that her brother is coming!
Well the alarm went off at 7am, and we all made a pact that the men shower at night and the girls in the morning, to make things go smoother. Well guess what little girl didnt want to take a shower? Yup, Abby! But she pinky promised to take one that night when the boys showered. I guess time will tell.
So we eat breakfast in the room, cereal, pop tarts, you know quick stuff. Then we catch the bus at 8:30am to the Animal Kingdom. We find that getting to parks before they open is not easy! LOL None of us are morning people. Well, at the Animal Kingdom we hit all the major rides, and we walk one of the trails then we head for some lunch. Flame Tree barbque. The food here is pretty good, even Abby ate a hot dog, well most of it. After lunch we decided to vote all we had left to do at Animal Kingdom was a few shows, Camp Minnie Mickey and one more walking trail, but the heat was crazy! And we all voted to go back to the hotel for a swim, we could finish this another day (we think). Ahhhh the pool felt great!
Ok after the dip in the pool, we dry off and get directions on how to get to Boma, at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. On the way there I beg the kids to please let us enjoy this meal, its the one place that doesnt have characters that we really want to eat at. We got to Animal Kingdom Lodge early, we had read on many sites that this resort offered things for kids to do and some behind the scenes cooking tour that my husband would love. So when we got there we found out that the kids program had just ended but the cooking thing was about to start in 4 minutes, so I sent Tom on the tour and the kids and I set off to explore the lodge, and hopefully see some animals, but of course we forgot the binoculars so we figure we wont see any. WRONG, we saw zebras, and giraffes, birds and some other large animals that I couldnt name if I tried.
After exploring the kids were still bored and Tom was still touring the cooking thing, so I bought them each a pin and we sat in the lobby while they put them on their lanyards. Just as Tom calls me telling me his tour is over Abby breaks out screaming! She has stuck her finger with a pin, Im thinking great dinner is ruined she is in a bad mood and crying. So we head over to the bathroom and I coddle her to make sure she is ok, and poof her bad mood is gone and she is fine. So we still had time before dinner so we show Tom some animals, and decide this resort is awesome! At dinner Abby and Mike both ate, Abbys diet was French fries and strawberries, and Mike actually tried an awful lot! Tom and I of course needed to be rolled out the door! I tried almost everything except the lamb stuff, Tom tried it all. My absolute favorite food . ZEBRA DOMES!
We head back to the POP and since it looked gloomy and we gained about 50 lbs at Boma we decided to walk the resort, we need the exercise and the kids need to get tuckered out, we need to get to bed so we can get up early (tomorrow is breakfast in Norway). WOW what a walk over an hour and a half and we filled our mugs with coke or blue slushes and head to the room. GUESS What, Abby showered! I decided to take a hot bath, these beds are terrible! But bearable since I am at the world!
