Anyone ever have one of these desserts at the Beaches & Cream (BC)? My daughter is interested in our family of 4 trying to consume this one.

I have not tried it but am planning on having it with DW, SIL and her BF in Jan.

HERE is a thread where this was asked before. It has links to pictures as well.

A small local chain of restaurants in our area has been serving kitchen sinks for at least 23 years that I know of ...long before Y&BC was open...uses the same type of kitchen sink to serve them.

Anyone else have restaurants that serve them?

Mike -

Thank you for the link. The family is going to love this!!!:bounce:

Our group of 5 had one and did not finish it. However, we did have one after eating lunch, so we were pretty full already.

our family of 4 gave it a try in 2003 and didn't put much of a dent in the thing. to be honest; it wasn't the best thing i've ever tasted. too many different flavors all mixed together for my liking. but, hey, worth the try just to say you've tried it...lots of other desserts that are wonderful(the mudslide in particular)! Beaches' & Cream is alot of fun and your family should really love it...

There is a pic in my sig with a KS. I join the group who wasn't impressed. It's melty and sloppy when you get it. There are too many flavors. The grandkids loved it (the idea of it, not the actual ice cream), but we share one of the regular desserts when we go without them, and are much happier for it.

Be sure to ask for bowls, so you don't have to "eat off" the ice cream. That is plain gross if there are more than two of you.

My DS is dying to have one of these ice cream mountains. Can anyone tell me what the cost is??

Thanks,

Joanne

Everything I've seen says the cost is $21.99. Sounds like a lot until you figure what 4 sundaes would probably cost. We'll give it a try.

Our family of four enjoyed one in November. We were unable to finish, but we did our best. :) It was very full when we arrived so we sat at the counter. They let our two children go behind the counter to help dip the ice cream and build the sundae. It was really great. And on top of that they recieved a certificate. It was a magical moment for us.

We got one last week (for lunch) and the family couldn't finish it - but it was fun trying. Will make this part of all future visits to WDW.

Our kids shared one with Matt..( the son of Mattsmom and Buz) while we were on our Dec trip....it was 6 kids under 13 and they didn't quite finish it but they made a big dent....

The concept has some appeal to me, but the melty, gloppy all-run-together reality doesn't seem so great.

we finally decided to wait for seating to get one our kids have always wanted to try one you can only get a kitchen sink by being seated they do not serve take out we had a family of 5 wife and i and 3 teenagers and just barely finished it. it was a pretty wild evening the cast members were busy while we were there they served 4 kitchen sinks

Sounds wild! Not sure if I'd have the stomach for it tho ;) Would you need a PS for it in January or do you just turn up?

We just showed up around the lunch hour and got seated right away last week. Another Kitchen Sink was served while we were there. Looks like a typical "sweet shop" out of the 50's. Entrance faces the pool area.

we had one this summer and finished the whole thing as a late lunch, had a sugar buzz for the rest of the day, the kids and DH still ate some dinner that night but I couldn't.. when we were there, B& C server 3 more.

It was Awesome.. and we will go back to have another next summer...

Ghiradhelli basically has the same thing only they call it the EARTHQUAKE. It's $19.06 - like the first "big" quake. Me, DH, mom, and step-dad have finished it on a couple of occasions. But DH and step-dad are big eaters. But I love all the differet flavors. This one isn't too messy but we plan to try the Kitchen Sink in a couple of weeks when we get there.

Enjoy!!

they do not take ps you just show up and put your name on a list and they call you in order on top of 4 flavors of icecream and all the diffrent toppings and cookies they use a full can of whip cream

We have had both the Ghiradelli and the Kitchen Sink .

The Kitchen sink is MUCH bigger and has more "stuff", like brownies, angel food cake pieces, wafer things, plus the peanut butter sauce ( which G doesn't have)..plus bigger scoops of ice cream..
