The Kitchen Sink Question

So, what are the chances of going to Beaches & Cream in November on a Wednesday, shortly after lunch, like 130/2:00 being able to get the kitchen sink, without a reservation? Not had the chance to eat at Beaches & Cream yet. Since we're arriving that day and it's the only time to fit it in, we don't want to make a reservation so close to arrival.

With out a reservation it doesn't matter your chances are slim to non. If you have a small group you may be able to get into the counter but I wouldn't count on that.

Agreed. Slim. The best thing to do is regularly check for a reservation to come available.

I had NO IDEA you had to have a reservation for Beaches and Cream!! I thought it was just a counter serve meal and you just show up....I'm so glad I saw this now so we will be able to handle our disappointment before we get there!! I just tried - and there are no openings!!
We were planning on swinging by next Tuesday as we wander the day away waiting for our plane. We have brunch reservations at Boma at 10:30. Our plane leaves at 8:30 pm. Any suggestions for things to do throughout the day???? We were going to go wander the Boardwalk and eat a Kitchen sink!! :-(

Since you have no concrete plans and time to kill you can always ask for a walk up. You may get lucky and just have to wait a while. If not try the ice cream over at ample hills. They don't have any showstoppers like the kitchen sink, but the ice cream quality itself is much better.

Also, keep trying for an ADR. You never know what may open up even the day of.

Do you have 4-5 VERY hungry adults? That's about what it's going to take to attack the KS before it melts down to a soupy, syrupy goo. I understand the attraction, just thought I'd bring it up. As an alternate please consider the No Way Jose. Two could share and it's the best ice cream dish I've ever had.

Highly unlikely. Beaches and Cream is a well sought after ADR any time of day. MAYBE you'd get lucky and be able to eat at the counter but I wouldn't bank on it.

The to go counter does/did offer miniature versions of the kitchen sink served in cute Mickey mouse themed bowls.

We usually spend our last day at the pool before heading back to the airport. Other options - Disney Springs or mini golf or if you really wanted to wander the Boardwalk area, get a kitchen sink to go from their take out window and then you get a cute souvenir bowl to bring home!

Last December we were able to find an ADR at Beaches and Cream for 3:30pm after searching on the app at around noon on the same day that we went. It was pretty empty at that time.

As an alternative (plan B) for the true ice cream lover... may I suggest heading over to Ghirardelli at Disney Springs instead and ordering the Earthquake Sundae? It too is quite a sight... 8 scoops of ice cream and 8 toppings, plus bananas, nuts, chocolate chips, and whipped cream, topped with cherries. Yum! No reservations needed.

It is hard to get because it is a very, very small restaurant. There are I think 3 booths, 5-6 small tables (they seat 4 but it is tight), and a handful of seats at the counter.

Yet, what's weird is that the last two times we've been there (separate vacations) it's only been about half full. I can see a few people missing their reservations but that many?

I would visit different resorts. And get a Dole Whip from the Poly. The resorts are so beautiful!

They have a walk-up window for ice cream at all times. You can get a mini-kitchen sink (served in Mickey pants) that way.

If you want the big kitchen sink or to order a full meal, use the free Touring Plans reservation finder (get a free Basic Access account) to get a ressie.

Have you priced adding a park day? If you're going from 5 to 6 days or 7 to 8, it's a very reasonable cost. With a late flight, you'll have several hours in the park.

If you want a non-park day, you could:
Watch the animals at AKL
Go mini-golfing
Wander around Disney Springs
Wander around the Boardwalk area
Resort hop on the monorail
Do a cruiser bike or Surrey bike rental
Resort Arcades
Hammock or playground time
Fishing at POT
Swim at your resort
Etc....

P.S. Beaches and Cream has a walk-up window for basic ice cream treats.
