I know I"m posting crazy topics today but they are just things that have been on my mind lately!!!

so I'm wondering.. did you and your DF practice the kiss?

how did you do it on the day of the wedding?

closed mouthed and quick?
a little tongue? :goodvibes
a long sweet kiss?
a lot of tongue? :woohoo: :lmao:

spill the beans on the kiss ladies! (and gents!)

:rotfl: :rotfl:
This really made me giggle this morning!!

I wanted to practice the kiss but DH didn't. So, we kissed kind of quickly and sweetly. It was so quick that we had to reenact it for the cameras! Our "the kiss" picture has my gown all poofed out and the train all fixed - not like the other cermony pictures at all but I like it better because it is very pretty with my gown all fixed.

The funny thing is - the next day we hosted brunch for our family and friends at Whispering Canyon and the server found out we had gotten married the day before, so she called us up to the front (DH hates to be singled out and have the spotlight on him so he was not happy), then called up a newly engaged couple, and a couple celebrating their 10-year anniversary. They put us in a dance contest which was hilarious! After dancing a bit they said "and now the real contest - a kissing contest" and DH said "we're going to win this!" and that was a very long and very passionate kiss - we were still kissing when the other couples has stopped - we won :goodvibes

We practiced a few days before the wedding. The first time we practiced, we kissed a total of three times, all sort of open-mouthed, with a teeny tiny bit of tongue on one of them. It felt very natural, and we happened to kiss that way the next couple of times we tried it, so we made a "rule" to kiss that way the day of the wedding. ;)

The day of the wedding I guess we were a little more nervous or relieved for the ceremony to be over, because the kisses ended up a little more closed-mouth, like this.

I think as long as you don't start making out in front of your family :upsidedow or bumping noses repeatedly, you'll be good to go. (And bumping noses repeatedly would be something to look at fondly later, so maybe that wouldn't be so bad either! :rotfl:)

Good luck!

woowoo! sexxxay! lol. :rotfl2:

that's such a cute story!

We never practiced and we never really talked about it-- I figured it would just come natural. Heres our kiss photo..

Ok, I have to tell this story.

My MOH when she got married they never practiced the kiss. When it came to that time her husband was going for the simple smooch and she decided she wanted ALOT more. I was behind her so DF told me his perspective too. What I saw was her arms coming up and grabbing his head. What DF saw (along with every other person I talked to that was seated), she pretty much attacked him. I could tell that he was taken aback. It was so funny. She was actually embarrassed afterwards. (but you really need to know her because she is usually the shy non PDA girl)

This is a cute thread :) I've thought about the kiss too. We kiss all the time...we're both pretty affectionate so hopefully that day is no exception :rotfl:

If you have a chance to watch the video in HappyLaLaGirl's trip report (Diane), their kiss was soooooo romantic! :goodvibes

MY DH & I practiced our kiss for our wedding day. We didn't want just a quick peck, but we didn't want a long french kiss either, so we practiced just how we wanted to do it, with just barely open lips and just touching tounges. It ended up being really sweet and we laughed so much cause we though we were silly for practicing it, but I'm glad to know others do the same thing!

ooh, can someone find this for me? I just did a search and came up with nothing!

We didn't practice beforehand, except at the rehearsal. I couldnt' get through the kiss at the rehearsal without giggling (DH and I aren't very kissy in public, and I couldn't get the fact that my parents were watching out of my head!). I managed to not giggle during the ceremony though. We had a really nice short, but sweet kiss at the ceremony. For us it was perfect.

thanks for finding the thread maggie even though the video is gone. I found other threads by happylalagirl and then I tried the option "find all threads made by this member" or whatever and it said that option wasn't valid. :confused3

thanks!

I think Stan has moved some stuff around on his site. I got this to work:

Re: searching - the DIS search system has been buggy for months. Some days it works, some days not. One workaround is to do an advanced Google search on the member's name with "disboards.com" in the "Search this domain only" field....

i was going for a closed mouth but still long & meaningfull kiss, but DH was all about the full fledged open mouth "have a little fun" kiss....it took me by surprise, but it was kinda fun

Dont practice & just go with it......i think rehearsed kisses look...welll....rehearsed.....just go for it & have fun;)

That's such a beautiful picture! Your gown is gorgeous and you look so happy!!

I think that's great advice - just go for it
