Can you tell that I am happy. I love summer but school is great for scrapping my stuff. We scrap the kids pictures during the summer. Now My turn.I just bought a book at Joanns for scrapping cook books looks so fun. Too bad I cant cook. Maybe if I make one I will do better. What are your plans for the school year what goals do you have?

Mine went back last week and miss them! My 12 yo DS and I had so much fun this summer scrapping our WDW vacation. He's really great for creative ideas and loves scrapping as much as I do. (shhhh... don't tell his cool jr. high friends;))

This year I plan to make an album for DS of his week at camp. My DH was a sponsor and took photos of everything they did all week. I'm going to do the pages and DS will do all the journaling in his own handwriting. I can't wait to get started on that one.

I'm also starting a year-long scrapping project for DD, beginning with her sweet 16 party last week, and documenting everything she's involved in throughout the year. The older she gets, the more sentimental I am about getting everything on film!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's plans for the year.

wow seems like you will be busy. My daughters are 12 and 7. 12 is hard I hope 16 is better. I am writing down your idea so I will have it for 16 I was thinking about something for 13. I was going to get family members to give advice or a favorite quote or just a happy birthday message and then put it together in a book for her to look back on. what do you think

rvoto,

You must read Family Fun magazine because I saw an article on doing that too. I am planning to put together a 13 year book for my DD this year. Her b'day is in April so I figure I have all school year to do it while she is not at home.

Let me know what you are going to do and maybe we can share ideas.

No I don't my sister read it in an article of her local newspaper and told me about it I would love to read the article you are talking about. It is a cool idea isn't it I would love to share ideas with you.

This is the title page for DD's book. I did this on the night of her birthday. It helped keep my mind off of her taking the car out for the first time alone!

rvoto,

The article I read was in the April 2003 of Family Fun.

Not sure if you can find it online but it is on page 37. The article is titled "Birthday Book". If you can not find it online, try your public library. If all else fails, I can send it to you.

Right now I am working on a mailing list to people she admires. My DD is a big Hilary Duff fan and loves Amy Grant. We also have a female Gov in MI so I was hoping to mail her a request too. I am going to have to pick her brain for more ideas there.

Our school system has e-mail for all its teachers so I will be sending all her current and former teachers a letter and hope to get a response. Will also be doing it for all of our family members.

Let me know what over ideas you are working on.

Sue

oNE THING i REMBER IS a day in the life page
how does she wake up
does she brush her teeth befor or after breakfast.
how does she study
are social skills better than study skills
is she a get to it kind of girl or slow moving
all the everyday stuff follow your day and what you do and then write it down then watch her for a week and take notes on her way of life Oh that makes me think that you could have a photo of you and her together and do a mom and me page look back to your school days and see if you are more alike or what is the same and different. You also need to be honest so if it is negative try to put a spin on it like if she is is a poor speller (like me) you cuold write she is tryingto explore new combinations of the abc because she thinks out side the box . You can do fav. meals page with directions you can include an autograph page for all of her friends to write notes to her

Sounds like we have two different ideas for a book. Mine is more about growing up. People she admires or has known her for a long time to give advice, a special memory of her, a special wish for her.

Not sure how I will put this all together, but I think I will incorporate some of your ideas into my book.

Keep me posted on what you are up to.

Sue

I thought you wre doing a year in her life I misunderstood. What you are doing is what I am doing also. This will be much easier to think about It may benifit us both. Well maybe my last ideas will help someone else.
