On my train waiting for it to roll out of the station. My next stop is NYC Penn Station. Where I wait for a few hours before boarding the Silver Star line to Orlando! So looking forward to PCC 3.0 and some relaxation and lots of fun with all the DISers!

Looking forward to a report on how the trip went.

Just looked at the train schedule and I see its ~24 hour ride from NYC. Hope you've got a sleeper car and lots to read.

Trains have been on time today. Pretty happy about that. Funniest part was as we went through Newark , NJ there was a family pronouncing it New-ark.
No sleeper car. I'm traveling coach. Sleepers are pricey. I've got 4 books and laptop with movies and digital scrapbooking. Some families have been arguing with each other but I put in headphones and tuned them out.

Safe travels, and have wonderful time on PCC 3.0

Thanks for the safe travel wishes. So an update...a mechanical issue held us up in Richmond. But I have to say it felt like they sorted it out as quickly as the could. I slept about as well as one can sleep sitting up next to an 8 year old who knees you in the back ;) it wasn't bad.
So now we just went through Savannah and are around 2 hours behind. Luckily my laptop and iPhone are fully charged!

Sorry to hear about your delay. Hope you're getting to see some good scenery on the trip down.

Bobbinweez- See you tomorrow on the Dream!!! Safe travels! We fly down at 9pm tonight out of Logan. Our flight is on time so here's hoping it stays that way and it looks like a full flight! Staying at the Hyatt tonight and using FL Tours to get to the port in the morning!

Safe travels!

Jeff- We'll see you and Val too! And Connor!

Made it in around 1 this afternoon. Took a long much needed nap :)

What made you take the train? Are you a train fan? Do you dislike flying? Or was it a budget choice? I'm not judging - I just wonder why a person would choose to go by train. I have a friend who is VERY into trains and he chooses it for the fun of it. I personally wouldn't love the time commitment :confused3

I choose trains because of a very strong phobia. Over the last week I was asked what it would take to get me on a plane... My response: medication, intense therapy and many sparkling adult beverages. Yes it would be far easier to be home in 3 hours instead of 30. I'm not quite there. Right now I'm on the train waiting to pull out of the Orlando station. I'll be home around 5 tomorrow evening.

Thanks for sharing your reasons for taking the train. I Completely respect that and I'm glad you don't let it stop you from traveling :)
