The Ingredients for Pixie Dust, a June 2010 TR - 10/2 DIsney Halloween PTR started!

How awesome that you went to the MK by yourself and were able to just stroll along at your leisure, looking at what you wanted to look at! I may just have to steal this idea of yours :thumbsup2

Glad to see you back with another update:goodvibes

Your shopping night at MK sounds wonderful and I love the shots of the castle at night all lit up.

Looking forward to more

What a wonderful night you had all to yourself! It must have been so relaxing to just meander wherever you wanted and do what you wanted without anyone else chiming in their opinions! ;) You got some great shots of the castle, the teacups, and the mosaics! Can't wait to see the goodies you bought in your souvie post.

Yes, you still have a lot of Disney fun ahead of you, and all of it sure to be full of great times! I can't wait to hear all about your Disneyland trip! Are you planning on doing a PTR for that trip? Is it just Disneyland or are you doing other things in the area as well?

Those current deals are certainly tempting. When I told Charles about them, he said we should do it. Who is this man and what did he do with my husband??? I would love to head down for a quick trip sometime, but not sure if it is in the cards.

If you head down Memorial Day weekend for SWW, the new Star Tours should be up and running. You could give us a first-hand report on it! :thumbsup2

Wow! Little DS is starting kindergarten? They grow up way too fast!

Glad you are back! What a great night at MK by yourself, I want to see the goodies you picked up that night... especially the ornaments.

We are off to first grade tomorrow. I can't hardly say it without a few tears, so I know what you mean about K. Those offers are tempting... we just got our tickets for next summer before the prices went up!

Welcome Home! I cannot tell you how amazing your night ALONE at MK sounds! Maybe all this summer togetherness is starting to wear on me:rolleyes1 I LOVED your pictures! I feel your pain about your little guy starting Kindergarten..my first baby starts his last year in elementary school on 9/1!:scared1:

I am so excited to watch all of your upcoming travel plans develop!:goodvibes

Can't wait to see your pics of Scotland, glad you had a lovely trip and the weather wasn't that bad, we have had some not bad weather over the past two weekends :goodvibes I am pretty much organised now from our trip, managed to start a TR as I have made some time after work, look forward to reading about the rest of your WDW trip :)

I am sure the pics will look "familiar!!"

Where is your TR? I have to get that link!!! I will go to your signature, it must be there!!! :thumbsup2

Welcome Home!! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear about your trip!!

Hi ya! Yes, I will get started again, finally! I am catching up on all my TRs and PTRs, and you are on the list!! ;)

Welcome home!!!!
Looking forward to hearing all about your trip within a trip report!! :thumbsup2

Tracy
HI!!!!! I am glad to be back! We had a smashing time. I can't wait to tell you all about it! :goodvibes

Joining in this sounds like fun!

Well, HI! Welcome! We do have fun on the DIS for certain! I am working on updating again soon!

Wow, I've missed all the excitement of your going away and returning! Can't wait to read all about it!

No you have not missed much! Don't worry! I am behind everywhere too!

Literature always brings out the rambler in me!

I think I like Macbeth because of all the great lines -- after all, who can resist quoting Lady Macbeth when trying to get stains out of kids' clothing. :lmao:

I can't imagine seeing that performance!!! I wanted to take the kids to see a Shakespeare play in DC next summer when we are there, but the only one the Shakespeare Theater Company is doing is The Merchant of Venice. I don't think that is quite Chelsea and Connor's thing. :(

Oh! But there are several Shakespeare groups, here in DC! Michael Kahn's STC is the most famous, of course. Merchant, huh? That is a surprise, b/c he did that easily a few years back... I am surprised. But, consider Folgers, or if you are on your way up here, the Black Friar Theater in Staunton VA. They have an amazing playhouse, and the town is SOOO neat. Lots of American Civil War history there and around there. Check it out!!! If you want good theater, consider also Round House Theater -- not Shakespeare, but they have good plays, and they are on the metro in Bethesda, MD.
We will SO have to talk and plan your vacation up here

I love rambling about Literature too. ;)

Hi! Glad you're home safely. :goodvibes

Looking forward to hearing about it and seeing some pictures...ready when you are! popcorn::

Well already posted the end of Day 8 and on to Day 9 next! :thumbsup2

How awesome that you went to the MK by yourself and were able to just stroll along at your leisure, looking at what you wanted to look at! I may just have to steal this idea of yours :thumbsup2

Hi Michelle!! It was really fun. I did totally enjoy this evening, it was really worth it. And the Dolewhip Float of course!! :rotfl: Oh when you go again with your family, I highly recommend the solo night flight!

Glad to see you back with another update:goodvibes

Your shopping night at MK sounds wonderful and I love the shots of the castle at night all lit up.

Thanks! I am glad I finally got back to posting too! It was a great evening in the MK to be sure!

Yes, it is funny to actually be left alone with your thoughts and to just enjoy, without keeping others in mind. It was very relaxing! I will post all my purchases at the end!

Yes, you still have a lot of Disney fun ahead of you, and all of it sure to be full of great times! I can't wait to hear all about your Disneyland trip! Are you planning on doing a PTR for that trip? Is it just Disneyland or are you doing other things in the area as well?

I sure hope so! Just a little here and there, not really to the parks, but regardless, Disney fun is disney fun! I am looking forward to CA too. We are going to be in Disneyland for TWO nights Two Days (Halloween being one of them). We then -- that night -- drive down to San Diego, where we have a reservation at the Four Seasons for the rest of the week. We added the Disneyland days on to our trip, because we were NOT going to go all that way and not go to Disneyland. That was just NOT going to happen.. DH's figured that. We have our GAD vouchers we can turn in and upgrade our tickets to two day park hoppers. SO that saved us a little there. We are staying at the Grand Californian. We will be going to Lego Land and the zoo, and just around San Diego, where I have never been. We have a great set of friends who live there, so we planned a lot of this trip for that reason. But then, this summer we got a call from them telling us they were moving, get this, to RHODE ISLAND!! So actually they have moved to our side of the world, and here we are going to CA to see them :rotfl2: it is comical almost. But that is fine, we have plenty to see and do!! We were just hoping to see them! :headache:

Those current deals are certainly tempting. When I told Charles about them, he said we should do it. Who is this man and what did he do with my husband??? I would love to head down for a quick trip sometime, but not sure if it is in the cards.

Wow! Little DS is starting kindergarten? They grow up way too fast!

It is still a long way off for Memorial day, so we will see, but I hope I can con him into letting me go. We'll see. Hard to say with the summer trip, it is not cheap, the cruise for all four of us. Still, I don't know how much longer I will be able to keep the whole Star Wars thrill going. Oh though a NEW Star Tours, wow... that might get DH. I just want to see all those storm troopers marching. I got Griffin a great book earlier this summer, it is a complete encyclopedia of Starwars Legos... it is a DK book. Really really neat! I have been sharing "text features" with both of them(because of the way it is organized) -- and Nolyn said, "YES mom, I understand, the whole page is about Droids..." :lmao: What a cheeky monkey he is!

GOOD thinking on those tickets!! I wish I were so organized! I just don't know our next trip to be that organized! First grade!! How exciting! I am sure the tears are there, and will be there for me too!

I grabbed some great stuff this trip, and will post all of those pics at the end (I have not uploaded them to Photobucket yet, but I was happy with my ornaments! I will look for more in Nov.)

Welcome Home! I cannot tell you how amazing your night ALONE at MK sounds! Maybe all this summer togetherness is starting to wear on me:rolleyes1 I LOVED your pictures! Oh hello hello! Yes, I get the too much togetherness! Sometimes, yes! Will you and Brian be going to Disney in Nov with Lesley and Tim? It was fun to take the pics in the MK that night without any distractions... HA! Oh gosh they grow and grow. Crazy. Middle school, huh? One more year. WOW! Crazy!!!

Doesn't that just figure that your friends moved to Rhode Island? Oh, well, you are still going to have lots of fun in San Diego and Disneyland! Can't wait to see your pictures from the Grand Californian! The few I have seen are very pretty!

I just want to see all those storm troopers marching. I got Griffin a great book earlier this summer, it is a complete encyclopedia of Starwars Legos... it is a DK book. Really really neat! The Stormtroopers marching all around the park are a very impressive sight! I will have to look for that DK book! Connor would be sure to enjoy it! Too funny about Nolyn!!! :lmao:

Good to know! I am printing this off to add to my slowly growing stack of DC stuff (that is currently in a large ziploc bag). You KNOW I will need your help planning! I checked out a couple of guidebooks from the library but didn't get very far with any of it. The most I have figured out is that I want a hotel on the Metro line. Oh, and a tentative list of places I want to go -- Folgers was on it -- want to take a peek at the First Folio on display and check out their gift shop. :thumbsup2

How was the first day back with teachers yesterday?

I hope you get to do this with your boys. I know so totally nothing about Star Wars, but it was still cool to see something different in Hollywood Studios. The parade was cool, and even though I didn't know who the characters were, it was fun for me to watch other people - kids and men mostly - who were really enjoying it all. I thought the guys in white that were on top of the Hollywood sign as we waited for the gates to open were there to protect us. They were up on buildings all along as we went inside. I was feeling very well-protected, but I think they ended up being the bad guys.

My most vivid memory of the day was that it was HOT, and I felt very sorry for that big, hairy guy (don't know who he was - very tall and brown fur) that was taking pictures with guests across from Sci-Fi Drive-In as we walked by. He had to be 110+ degrees inside that costume!

Your boys would love it, and you would love watching them love it, so I hope you guys get to do that. :)

A few pictures from our Star Wars Weekend trip:

These little boys were so into it. They had a stroller full of swords and other SW stuff.

What a pretty and colorful night you had to yourself! :goodvibes
I am getting ahead of myself but I will really be looking forward to your TR from DL in October.....I have seen pictures, etc and I :lovestruc Nightmare Before Christmas. ::yes:: Also looking forward to Scotland ;)
I think I would enjoy SWW sometime too....I would really like to take my nephews but I think they are still in school at that time? :confused3 Honestly I could care less about the SW part of it :rotfl2: but the parade and the characters look fun...I can't remember when I saw SW....whenever the first one came out....the 70's? :scared1:

Tracy

I would just love a night to shop by myself though am not at all sure I'd have the energy to drive over there by myself at that hour! How very very fun. Shopping is the one thing that for me, I didn't get enough of, this trip.

Looking forward to hearing about Scotland and Oregon and I will have ALL kinds of info for you for your trip to the dark side!

Hi HD!

Just popping in to say hi and hope all is well. I've forgotten if you've already started school or if you start next week? Well hope it is going or goes well. :goodvibes

OKAY OKAY!!! I really am back AGAIN!!!! :faint: the school year has started. The first week back a blur. Company this weekend unexpectedly. Officially the first day TOMORROW!!! SO here is a few updates to kick off the week! I should be done this week with this TR, finally!!!

So as the summer trip went, alas, today was "the day". This day of our trip was our final day of our Annual Pass :sad2: – like the carriage that turns back into a pumpkin, I knew we had to make every minute count!!!!! :hyper: So we were excited to spend the day in the parks.

We knew we wanted to head to Epcot to really enjoy some of the rides and areas we hadn’t spent time in, and with that being the plan, we were up and ready to go... and fortunately the park was really rather empty!!! As you can see from these pics! :thumbsup2

summer2010600.jpg

So this time, we decided to change our strategy and get FPs for Test Track, FIRST. It gave us 40 minutes to wait to get our next set, which was perfect because we could then fit something small in, while waiting.

We chose Club Cool, our first time there, and sample a few sodas, of course Beverly being one of them. I didn’t partake, I must confess, but the boys were not impressed! DS5 said "what?! EWWWWW..." They are not soda drinkers, at all, so the whole concept was rather surprising! They liked the apple flavor kind (whichever that was??!!)

summer2010603.jpg

summer2010601.jpg

summer2010602.jpg

So After this the decision was that they would head for a mission in SPACE, and I with a frozen Cappuccino in hand, would let the guys do this, while I went over to Soarin to get the FPs for that ride.

It was here that our APs started acting up again. And again, I received a set of FPs to use for the day. Armed with double FPs we pretty much took advantage of the same luck we had at the MK the day prior. And it being the last day, I didn’t bat an eye. So with TWO sets of FP for Soarin, I headed back over to Mission Space and met the boys in the play area.

This proved to be great fun, because DH had always taken DS8 on this one solo, with me waiting outside with DS5. He had never really stopped to enjoy the play area as a result. It was great to finally have the time and for both boys to enjoy it. SO they played, I enjoyed my coffee drink, and DH went to guest services and got a new set of AP passes that would work in the turnstiles, etc. (I know it was our last day, but I didn’t want to deal with the hassle when we went to another park, or for reentry.

Here they are in "action"... as you can see even the BIG boy got into it.... ;)

Next we went to get a KP pass.

summer2010622.jpg

summer2010623.jpg

summer2010624.jpg

This exchange had me laughing because of course it took like four KP agents to actually get us a ticket for the location we wanted. They kept coming! So DH was finally surrounded by a swarm of them!

I snapped a few photos of the flowers, etc… This was just a nice pic of DS8

summer2010621.jpg

Then it was time for TEST TRACK!

summer2010620.jpg

Noticeably absent of course is OUR five year old boy, who refused to stand still under the sign!! But I had to take it anyhow!

summer2010619.jpg

I realized I think that I had taken more pics here earlier in the week... I also noticed that I had recycled these Monorail shirts (washed of course!) on our second Epcot day... :rotfl:

We took a break in Mexico for some nachos and a quesadilla (just splitting two meals together hit the spot and filled the holes that were starting to appear in our stomachs. It was great to sit and take a quick break.

summer2010625.jpg

We then made our way over to The Land for Soarin’, and we also made it in time for Turtle Talk with Crush, as well, over at The Seas… I didn’t take pics I see, for some reason, but I think I figured I had taken enough of us on other trips, so I didn’t bother with my camera. We checked out some of the exhibits there, then decided to mosey over to the WS…

Here we are on the way to The Land Pavillion...

summer2010628.jpg

I love this fountain.

summer2010629.jpg

We picked up our KP Kimmunicator, AND then walked over the bridge to France to see about lunch at Chefs.

summer2010643.jpg

We were able to walk up and get a reservation, which was great. Here are the boys waiting…

summer2010632.jpg

summer2010633.jpg

The heat finally getting them, as you can see!

We were seated pretty quickly, and look who came over!

So here is a family shot that is one of my favorites this trip…

summer2010640.jpg

I think DS5 absolutely loves Remy. He is so cute to watch when we go to Chef’s! I had a great croque Monsieur – DH the Quiche and with the DP we had dessert, profiteroles, and we shared them together... The boys had the “French burgers” ! LOL! Everyone enjoyed the break from the heat.

After lunch, we then decided to do the French KP mission. It was hot, but I knew we had to fit in a few more KPs... Here are a few shots, and DH got us slushies to stave off the heat…:thumbsup2

summer2010645.jpg

summer2010646.jpg

summer2010648.jpg

summer2010647.jpg

At that point, DH went ahead back to the resort room, and I agreed to do one more KP mission, and then would bring the boys back to the room as well. So we headed over to Japan, which they liked again, and I just sat down and watched them running around.

When they finished and deposited their phone, we walked back to the Beach Club. We had decided this day that we would not hit the pool because we would have all day tomorrow. So instead they settled down with some ice cream and watched a video, and I, well I went back to Epcot to shop at Mouse Gears! ;) I stopped at the slushie stand again… I know I know… shameful. And then I headed to Mouse Gears. It started to POUR rain, so I made it just in time. I was looking for my sprinkles, but alas could not for the life of me find those dang Mickey sprinkles!!! BOOOOO.

I did find a sweatshirt on sale, however !!:goodvibes

I headed back to the resort, and we all changed for dinner shortly after.

With dinner a little later, we made it back to Epcot with passes to use, so we rode Soarin, and we went to Mission Space (we had FPs for this, not sure when we got them!) and I went this time… here are my little space pilots…

summer2010654.jpg

summer2010653.jpg

summer2010651.jpg

We then made our way to a KP mission in Mexico, and for dinner at San Angel’s inn, and of course margaritas as we waited for our beeper to go off! We ordered one to share from the Margarita bar in the pavillion.

Once seated, we had a delightful meal (I really like their food!) and another round of margaritas. And while we sat there, after dinner, the boys scurried around the pavilion completing their KP mission. I like this KP mission because it is entirely contained inside. SO I could let them do the mission without fear that something would happen to them. We then rode, our last ride in Epcot…Shocking I am sure, but it was one DS5 just loves, so...

And then it was time for ILLUMINATIONS!!!!! So we left the boat ride behind, and walked across to Canada, where we had decided to find a perch for the Illuminations show.

CONTINUED in the NEXT POST!

Did you get that second slushie that night to stave off the heat also? I am going to used that as my excuse from now on!! :lmao:
Oh my I just love the pictures of your two boys saluting....they look sooooooo serious!!!! :goodvibes

Tracy

Awww, that KP mission in Mexico brings back memories of the boys last Christmas...

Matt is so funny surrounded by all of the KP agents. Glad he was able to get the right mission!

Sometimes ice cream and a video and just resting is the best activity on property.

Shopping is always good, too. :)

I want to take the girls to Chefs sometime to see Remy. We might have planned it for this trip, only we'll probably be leaving Epcot at lunchtime to go meet Trent somewhere outside a park to eat. Maybe we'll do it in March.

Clearly slushies are medicinal and have very strong healing/cooling properties. Maybe I can find a Dr. to write me a prescription! :lmao:

Great update and pictures. Your boys are consistently adorable. I especially love the Mission Space salute pics and the family portrait with Remy.

I just :lovestruc Chefs de France. And no, not ONLY b/c of the waiters... :upsidedow

Holy Many Superb updates Batman!!!!! You have been missed!! I'm sure the start of the new school year has you running around crazy (well at least it is for me LOL)! I hope you had a great start and will continue having a great year!!

I just love the pictures of your boys having fun in EPCOT!! THey are so cute as they save the world during their KP missions!!!

YAY for getting double FP again!! That is awesome!!!!!
