There are a few of us on this cruise, and it has already been just phenomenal. Day 5 today, and we are sailing by the spectacular Iceland coast to the south.

Feel free to ask questions. Will try and answer when possible. Anyone else on board can also chime in.

-------------------------

There are about 1,780 guests on board: majority from the US, followed by the Brits and Canadians and quite a few Europeans. A much wider mix of nationalities with tons of families on board.

Lesley is the Cruise Director, and - to everyone's delight - Chris (from the UK) returns as the club host.

-------------------------

Been to Alesund and Reykjavik so far and on the way to Akureyri (in Iceland) next.

Here is Magic in Alesund from a couple of days ago.

Having major FOMO, we were booked on this cruise but cancelled at the beginning of this year in favour of Alaska (which I don't regret). So glad it's been an awesome cruise!!!
Rebooked the Dream for next summer for 11 nights so I'll stop pouting now ;-) Can't wait to hear more about this amazing cruise!!

So jealous! We were booked on this cruise and cancelled to do the TA as a B2B in a few weeks. Which I'm THRILLED about, but still.... really having fomo this week. LOL

In Akureyri (Iceland) today. Chilly still - and overcast now - but we are heading inland to Godafoss falls and Myvatn natural preserve. Will hit the brand new Forest Lagoon in the afternoon.

I'll share my notes for each port for folks looking to plan.

ALESUND

The ship was in port in Alesund for only half a day - though long enough to explore the town well. A fairytale Art Noveau town which we had to miss touring back in 2019 when we decided to drive the spectacular Path of the Trolls (Trollstigen) instead.

There is a small, hour-long tourist train at the pier which departs every 30 minutes. Costs about $25/adult and gets you a comfortable panoramic tour of the town. You also get to stop at the Mt Aksla viewpoint for a snap like this one.

The train has limited capacity, so buy the tickets soon after disembarking. As an alternative, there is a HOHO bus too.

Following!! Bucket list trip! How awesome that you saw the northern lights-twice! And Chris is back-his is a riot! Keep those awesome pictures coming!

May I sidetrack your thoughts for a second and ask how was the drive of the Path of the Trolls and how long did it take RT? We're doing it in September - well my husband may be doing it, I may lay on the floor 😂😂and want to make sure I have all my timing right!

We loved this cruise also .. we were on in 2016.. one of our favorite itineraries..

Glad to hear there is a club host on your sailing..I thought I had read they are doing away with that role and are having different cast members host the different events..we are booked on the EPC in December and it would be nice to have one.

Did you go to Geirangerfjord? That has been one of our two (along with Mykonos) all time favorite cruise stops.

We didn't care too much for Alesund b/c it's more German architecture (and it poured down rain there when we there there in 2016). Preferred Stavanger and Bergen.

Where do you stop in Scotland? I live near the cruise port in Greenock, i dont recommend going out and about there, but there are some lovely places to see nearby.

We were on the Cruise before this one (8/10 from Copenhagen). For our Alesund stop, they said it was only the second day with sunshine in over a month! They said everyone in town watched the sun come in with the Mickey ship and they were very happy to see both.

Just did similar cruise on NCL - Iceland, to Norway, to Scotland, to London. Great time, beautiful scenery, had a blast!! Enjoy!!

Curious how the sea conditions compare to the cruises to Alaska (my dh got a bit queasy on the more open sea days on our Alaskan cruise). Tia and have a wonderful remainder of your trip!
