I would love to hear if anyone has stayed at the Hilton? I heard it is considered onsite meaning you can use Disney transportation and the extra magic hour...is that true? How were the rooms? We are traveling with our 2 daughters and thought it might be a nice option. We are also consider AKL. What are your thoughts?

I have not stayed there, but to answer your other questions yes they have transportation (although it is not "Disney transportation" there are DTD buses). And yes, the DTD Hilton is currently the only DTD hotel that is participating in the EMH.

It is a nice hotel. No real "Disney" touches. I like it, but I like AKL better.

You can't use the Magical Express from the airport to the Hilton.

I stayed at the Hilton in Nov. 2003. Room was nice and clean. Easy to walk across the street to DTD and another brief walk to the Disney bus stop if you want to use their buses. Room was fine and had a stocked refrigerator with drinks and snacks (same price as you would pay for drinks on Disney property, but snacks were high - $7.00 for small can of peanuts). I had a problem with the door to my room (it was cut 1/2" from the bottom of the floor) and consequentially brought a lot of hallway/neighbor noise into my room. It didn't help that all of my neighbors had children either (lady across the hall had a small child who cried for quite some time and sounded like she was in my room). This room was on the 7th floor so be warned if your door is cut short of the floor, request another room (I was only there one night and spent most of the day at the park but I did have to hear that child crying for 3+ hours in the evening). Otherwise, the hotel was fine. However, if you can get a good code for AKL, I would consider staying there (better pool, nicer resort). I stayed at the Hilton for one night and won the hotel from Priceline for about $60.

Hi,

I have stayed at the Hilton several times and like it.

It has two large swimming pools and is just across the road from downtown disney ( Market place).

It has transportation to the parks ( about every 30mins).
Also it had a Disney Character breakfast on Sunday.

Regards

Right, I agree, no Disney touches, just the hotel as the norm, and no Magical Express either... :tilt:
