The Haunted Mansion Game Glitched?

Everytime I play, it doesnt suck up ghosts when i tell it to. I havent won one game and ive played about 10 now. I havent even captured a single ghost! Please tell me if its a glitch. Is there any way around this. If so, I would like to know. Thanks in advance

Yeah, I try and tell my character to suck up the ghosts too but she ignores me lol. It could very well be a glitch, but I then again I would not know, no matter how much I try and talk to this character of mine, she has yet to answer me! lol.

To answer your question...If this is a glitch, I have been experiencing this glitch ever since I started playing lol. I honestly am not sure. The last time I played the HM game was before Christmas lol.

I play Mansion a ton and it's only happened once that I would shine my little vaccuum beam and nothing would happen. I thought I had finally broken my control key from playing too much! LOL But I just exited the game and everything was fine.

I have to ask... because sometimes I press the wrong key in my excitement and obviously nothing happens. Are you sure you're using the right keys? It's either (CTRL) or (Alt and Shift) ... my friend has said just pressing Shift works, too.

If you are doing everything right, then I'd send a message to the black hole or hit up some staff.

Several things occur in the mansion that are unexplainable at times, it is after all haunted. At times you seem to be unable to catch ghosts and other times you can get them from across the room. Sometime you also get stuck on the floor and can't move. These things happen, hard to say why. I have determined that it has a lot to do with the speed of the various computers and connections of the players, the game is operating in real time but some are connected and or moving faster. The program attempts to achieve parity with the various computers and cause your view of the game to appear to be different than what it really is. I determined this several ways, The first is I have two computers that my wife and I will play on at times and one is wired the other is wireless. the wired appears to get ghosts across the room while the wireless appears to not get ghosts unless you touch them sometimes. I have learned to compesate for this somewhat. The other way I determened this is I have played with another dis member I know to be on dial up several times and when I have played with that person the entire game is completely slowed down like slow motion. This speed matching I believe also contributes to the crashing out of games in vmk...it is just most noticable in the mansion. The best thing to do is hit the control button again and again the whole game.

HM has been acting up on me lately too. I'm finding that when I play lately, I get a HUGE delay or lag in time. I'll move my guy, and he won't move. about 5 seconds later, he's over in the direction I moved him, way past where I moved him! And, yeah, sometimes I can't catch the ghosts.....I wonder if there's just too many folks playing at a time?

The only way to get around the parity I'd say is to play with people whose computers are at the same speed as yours

I feel like your problem might not be from that though. Even when I'm playing against someone who has an excrutiatingly slow connection and whatnot, you should be able to catch at least one ghost. Even if by accident! Yet you say you've played 10 games without catching a single one... very odd. I would try what Adventuredaz has suggested about pressing control constantly the whole game --- it does really work lol

unfortunatly (and this may have been part of the problem) you do have to repetedly press the control button. All of my computers now have very shiney control buttons.
