Does anyone else take their breakfast? We want to but we also don't want to rent a fridge.

Not sure if this would work for you, but we have bought a pretty good-sized, soft-sided cooler to use as a carry-on (it zips shut, rather than the kind with the lids that just pop in to place). I am going to take all my carry-on items in it and then once we are at POP, we will wheel it to and from the ice machines each day to keep stuff cold. It was $20 for the cooler, rather than $90 for each night's rent for a fridge, and we can use it for future trips, too!

OFF TOPIC!!???Anyone have any idea of how this hurricane Fay is going to effect trips/vacations to Orlando it is suppose to hit the Keys on Mon and turn into a full fledged Hurricane on Tues!!!!! :scared1: I'm getting scared my trip won't happen or will be delayed!!! :sad2:

We're not big breakfast eaters, so we usually just have granola bars or fruit in the room. Bonus: we're not too full to ride Mission Space or RnR right away in the morning, and we're hungry way before noon when the restaurants are busiest! We fly and use DME, so we can't pack a ton of food for the trip. But another idea would be to pack some instant oatmeal packets and disposable bowls. Then you could make your oatmeal using the hot water and/or microwave in the food court. Microwave popcorn would be an easy snack to pack also.

Don't worry about Faye. She is only a tropical storm and will hit far south of disney. We live in Ft Lauderdale and there is only a 50/50 chance of it creating a problem for us. The keys will probably be the only ones to get any significant water.

Plus.... when Hurricane Charley came, they forcasted it for our house.
Since we already had a WDW trip scheduled, I shuttered the house and drove to WDW. Don't you know, it skipped Ft L and hit WDW. But, WDW has there own electrical plant and all their wires are buried. We had the most amazing view of the hurricane hitting the Savanna (we were at AKL). They left the wildebeast out there and they just turned into the wind. They asked us to stay in the hotel, had lots of games, etc. and then reopened the parks the very next day.

Pop Tarts. You are, after all, at Pop. It's the only time I eat Pop Tarts. Then I grab some apple juice from the soda machine before refilling with diet coke. You could also do coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. What more do you need?:thumbsup2

Good to know. Do you have any pictures 'cause I'd love to see them.

I don't want to rent a fridge either so I'm bringing a wheeled cooler and some spoons and bowls for cereal and stuff in the rooms. I'm also bringing bagels and cream cheese and some ham for some quick and easy breakfast sandwiches! :)

Oh, ok duh! I should have read that post that said you started a fridge swap! My bad! :)

Before the fridge swaps, we picked up a styrofoam cooler at Publix and kept our milk, juice, yogurt, etc in that. It worked fine for us.

I have never heard you could use tableservice for it and have it delivered. But you can use two counter services to get a pizza for pick up. DH and I have done this. You get the pizza, two drinks and two desserts included.

I know about the 2 adult table service for in room delivery because its listed in DDP brochure AND I called ADR. They said you have to use 2 adult Table Service & when I asked what do I do with my 2 left-over kids table serv, she didn't know.

You could also call somewhere else (like Giordano's) and have a pizza delivered. You wouldn't be able to use the dining plan, but you would get much better pizza.

Duh, why didn't I think of that? We have 12 days to go and I think I'm getting nervous worried about what I forgot. I've traveled to forgeing contries with less prep than this!

We're here now and we were due to be on a flight out of here tomorrow at 3:50. I didn't want the weather to effect our flight so I contacted SW and asked about chances of changing our plan. Since Orlando is under a weather advisory until the 20th, we were able to change our flight without additional charges! :cool1: We aren't leaving now until Thursday! We were able to keep our room at Pop too! I am hoping that we'll just be able to hang out at Pop tomorrow and have another park day on Wednesday! We are with 2 young boys and I would rather be stuck here than at the airport with delays.

I can not get on the disney web site for some reason. How is ther weather there? We are flying from upstate NY to Orlando on Wed. UsAir is relaxing their ticketing policy. Here is their revised Ticket Policy: (including Orlando)
"US Airways has relaxed ticketing policies for these markets, which are affected by bad weather. US Airways will waive the standard change fee, advance reservation and ticketing requirements for customers with travel to, from or through these markets on the dates above. See our revised ticketing policy below for rules and restrictions. Call 800-428-4322 for more information.
If US Airways service continues to operate to the affected destinations, you can make certain changes without incurring the standard change fee, advance reservation or ticketing requirements:
You can move your entire itinerary up to seven days before or after the scheduled origination date.
You can apply the full value of your wholly unused tickets toward the purchase of a ticket to an alternate destination, although travel must originate within seven days of the scheduled origination date."
Does anyone know if Disney does the same?? What is their policy agains hurricanes/storms, etc...??? Any info will be greatly appreciated!
