The Grinder/Premier

I finally watched it last night. I was not impressed. I love the cast, but there is almost no way they can keep this going. I barely laughed at it too. Won't be recording it anymore.

iIt was predictable at times, but a lot better than reality shows. I almost thought Rob Lowe should of been Ben Savages dad.
I thought the same thing..... Rob Lowe seemed a lot older than his 'brother' it was kind of dumb but funny all at the same time,IMHO

I liked it. It has a few problems, but overall it was pretty funny. I'll keep watching.

Grandfathered wasn't quite as good for me, but has some potential, so I'll keep watching too.

I loved it!!! The Wonder Years is probably my favorite TV show of all time, so I was so excited to see Fred coming back to TV, on screen. So I will watch every episode that they let me, as long as they don't kill it! Fred aside, we thought it was very funny.

Rob Lowe is 51, Fred Savage is 39. Entirely conceivable. And William aDvance is 76, so that works. I that it was okay. I liked the end, even though I've seen similar scenes before (Legally Blonde, anyone?)

I smiled more at Grandfathered, and now that I've given up on The Muppets, will definitely be watching that - and taping Grinder while I watch Fresh Off the Boat.

I enjoyed it too! I was pleasantly surprised to see William Devane on the show. He's always good.

I always liked him but not in this.

Holy crap..was it Ben, Fred or Kevin???? Regardless, I thought it sucked:rotfl:

Best post in a long time!!!!

I will give it a couple weeks only because I like Rob Lowe doing comedy. I read his book & liked it.

So, I got my age information from imdb.com. Right now there are six episodes of Grinder ready to air, but only two of Grandfathered! And that's counting the premiere episodes we already watched!

Eye candy night! I don't care if the shows are great or just okay, I'll watch because both John Stamos and Rob Lowe are gorgeous!!!!! How is it even possible that they are better looking at 50 (51?) than they were at 25? My only issue is that they are opposite my NCIS and original Tuesday night eye candy - Mark Harmon!

You sound like me. I love me some Mark Harmon and Rob Lowe!

The West Wing, season 3, episodes 19-22 :)

Amen! Loved The West Wing and really miss that one. Rob Lowe and Bradley Whitford stole my heart every week. Heck I liked the president and Toby and Leo too. Great cast in that one....

Back to Grinder, am I the only one wishing they'd hired Danica McKellar (Winnie Cooper) to play the wife??

:rotfl2:

Maybe, on this thread, we should just continue to call him Kevin, as we all all know who we are referring to when we call him that. :rotfl:

I thought the show, too, had some problems. It was a quite a bit over the top & far-fetched. And Kevin/Fred's character was a little too whiny. If they bring the show down a bit, and make some of the lawsuits more believable and maybe of more substance that people who watch fictitious court dramas (like me) would actually like to see being won, the show might stand a chance. Right now, it's too campy and over the top, and one story that they played in the pilot, to go very far.

But, that could be just because whomever lists the episodes for Grandfathered hasn't updated the webpage yet, and not that they haven't filmed any episodes. It seems really unlikely that they'd NOT have filmed more episodes for a show airing on a national network. They'd have to have episodes in the can already. Even soap operas typically film 3 weeks in advance.

I wish the show was more of a drama based show, than a slapstick comedy show. What was the name of the show that Rob Lowe was in where Sally Field was the mom. I liked that show, but it turned weird in the end.

Yes, the show was so good in the beginning.
