The Greatest Trip There Ever Was!

Sorry to hear about loosing your babysitter, you and Landon will be in my prayers
But... moving to Flordia sounds pretty awesome :D That would be so cool

That really stinks about your babysitter. You guys will be in my prayers. I'm sure that everything will work out how it is supposed to.

Thanks, Meghan. I'll keep you all posted!

Kimmy, so sorry to hear about your babysitter situation. Will say prayers, and just know it will all turn out good.

Thank you so much!!

So sorry to learn about your babysitters situation, I'll be sure to keep you guys in our prayers, I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason, it will work out how it's suppose to. Thinking of you!!:goodvibes

Thanks. I hope things fall into place!!

I say move to Fl....I'll watch Landon, him and Olivia can be best buds! LOL! :rotfl2: On a serious note, I am so sorry to hear that someone so close to him isn't going to be able to do it anymore :guilty:

That would be SO nice!! If only I had the money to up and move right now, I so would. I want to get a couple of months rent and car payments saved up in case I were to have trouble finding a job!! That's why I'm waiting!! I think we will stay close with his babysitter even after she stops watching him. She is such a sweet lady!

Sorry to hear about loosing your babysitter, you and Landon will be in my prayers
But... moving to Flordia sounds pretty awesome :D That would be so cool

Thanks. I'm not excited for this search, but I trust things will work out.
I really, really, really want to look into moving to FL. It was hard to think about leaving with free babysitting and while still living with my parents--but my parents had recently wondered if I planned on moving out anytime soon (haha...not like they're sick of me. They just want to move and would rather get a smaller, cheaper place. That's why.) So both of those things kind of dissolved so it's looking more possibly. Costs of living are cheaper there than here...so it just seems like a really good idea. We will see how it all works out!!

Is there anything better than waking up on your first day at Disney? You know there’s just so much magic awaiting you that you don’t even mind waking up early. You can’t even get ready fast enough to get to the parks…you are just so ready to FINALLY be in a park all day!! That’s how I felt.

On this day, Steph showered first and then me, then Dustin. Landon was allowed to wake up whenever. We threw on cartoons for him while we all snacked on granola bars we had brought. Landon loved it. While getting ready, we discussed our thrill ride game plan. The only rides in the MK that Landon can’t go on are the Mountains: Space, Splash, and Big Thunder. We would have to parent swap all of those and there happened to be 3 mountains and 3 of us, so we each decided to chose the one that we would get to ride twice. I picked Splash…I LOVE that ride with my whole heart. Steph picked Space, leaving Dustin with Big Thunder.

Steph and I had made shirts for today!! And we were wearing our tiaras!! (Can you guys believe I forgot my tiara at home? Steph was SHOCKED!! I picked one up in a gift shop at the Poly the night before.) I don’t know why but we didn’t take any pics of us before going to the park. We did get a bunch though later on PhotoPass!! Here’s a pic of my shirt though!

When we got to the bus stop later it was later than we had wanted, but we still made it to the MK just in the nick of time to see the fabulous opening show!!
DSC00312.jpg

I loved it—so cute and really just gets your engine revved for the day!! I hope one day to open the park with all my favorite Disney friends. It didn’t happen this trip, but I have high hopes for the future…I MIGHT have a tendency to get picked for stuff. ;)

Anywho, we finally get inside and feel like a herd of cows. It’s ridiculously hard not hitting people with strollers in those masses. It takes full concentration. Luckily, I’m pretty sure the only people I hit were Dustin and Steph. (Don’t worry…Steph gave me way more flat tires than I ever hit her with the stroller, lol!)

I was a girl on a mission this morning…SPACE MOUNTAIN. Last time I had been to WDW, it was closed for refurb—which was insanely depressing. So I NEEDED to get there. In retrospect, I feel bad for my mad rush. I knew there would be plenty of time for castle pics and a whole other day in the MK, but it was Steph’s first time seeing the castle. Oh well…she was very glad once she saw the line for Space. It was out the door. Of course, it wasn’t as long as it looked being so early, but we waited probably 20 minutes. And we parent swapped it up. I thought they would just give us a pass and have the other person just wait wherever, but they had all 4 of us go through the line. Is that normal for Space? This was the only time that we all went through the line together.

Steph and I went first, on the left side. We even got to bypass a bunch of the line because they needed a party of two. HECK YES…I LOVE SPACE MOUNTAIN!!! It was so fun!! I was loving it!! Steph didn’t like it for the sole reason that she thought her tiara was going to fall off the whole time!! She had one of the headband kind, while mine was the kind that went in my hair, so I was good.
DSC00313.jpg

Steph opted out of her 2nd ride due to fear of tiara malfunction, so I gave Landon a quick hug and hopped back in line with Dustin!! I LOVE using the parent swap card so early in the morning—it’s too early for anyone to use fast passes so I feel even more special in the fast pass line since I am the ONLY one in it. Haha…ahh the little things in life. Dustin and I went back on the left again because Steph and Landon were at that exit.

The same guy who took Steph and I as a party of two was there and was joking around with us. Then he told us that there was an ongoing joke about the guy who would be checking the seatbelt looking like Barack Obama. He said once they even walked around Epcot with a bunch of them all wearing suits and surrounding him trying to look all official. Well, that day happened to be the real Obama’s birthday so he told me to tell him ‘Happy Birthday!’ when we got up there. So I did! He started cracking up! I just love when CM’s get guests in on their little inside jokes!!

Dustin and I had a blast on our ride on Space Mountain as well!! SUCH A SWEET RIDE!!! I am glad I finally got to ride it!!
DSC00316.jpg

Landon absolutely loved all the little scenes along the moving sidewalk to exit! He would get excited and point every time. He also had a blast seeing himself on the tv’s. Such a great exit!
DSC00314.jpg

Our next stop was FRONTIERLAND!! Woohoo!! The plan was to go to Big Thunder Mountain, get our parent swap, then while I waited for Dustin and Steph to ride, I would go get fast passes for Splash Mountain!! I did that, no problem, and then waited by the exit. Of course, I snapped a picture of the cutest little boy on the planet.
DSC00317.jpg

Luckily, when we had gotten there the ride was still a walk on so Steph and Dustin were back in a jiffy. Steph absolutely LOVED this ride and had sweet talked her way into Dustin letting her ride this twice instead of him. So Steph and I hopped into the fastpass line which we were grateful for. The line had more than doubled from when she and Dustin had gone in! Does anyone else get a little sad every time they get off of this ride and there is no picture? I got my picture fix by capturing Dustin and Steph in front of it since they loved it so much!
DSC00320.jpg

We started making our way back towards the castle with the intentions of a “princess photo shoot” through Liberty Square and who do we see? FRONTIER DONALD!! Sorry to disappoint…but you have to wait until I get my PhotoPass cd to see those. I promise they are cute though.

We were ready to do something Landon could do as well. Haunted Mansion was posted as a 5 minute wait so we hopped right on! Landon hadn’t gone the previous year so this was his first time! At first, when it was dark he snuggled in close to me and held on tight. I think he even started to cry, but once his eyes adjusted and he could see all the effects, he did GREAT! He was actually even clapping by the end!! I was sitting in the wrong place so the ghost was like on top of me instead of next to me. I HATE that. I think its sooooooo creepy!! I very much enjoy when my ghosts politely sit next to me though.

We got off and back into the hot, hot sun. It was so hot I’m surprised we didn’t spontaneously burst into flames. I offer to go get us some ice water while they stand in the shade. I walk into a empty Columbia Harbor House and am greeted by SUCH nice CM’s. They were very welcoming and kind. I was like the only person in there so they ALL greeted me and directed me to the counter to ask for my water. When I got there I asked for a cup of water. The guy offered two, and I said yes. Then he offered three…I was just going to have us share, but since he offered, I accepted!!

I walk outside carrying 3 ice waters like a champ (being a mom gives you some great carrying-stuff talents!) and find Steph and Dustin talking to someone…hmmm….I wonder who it could be!! Any guesses?!

Amazing first day so far!! I completely agree with you-- nothing like waking up on the first day of a Disney vacation! It's the only time/place I do NOT mind waking up at 6-7 for.
Love the shirts!! Where did you get the rhinestone tiara?? Is it an iron on? Both look sooo cute. Last trip, I stuck to v-necks and sundresses, but on our next trip, I definitely want to throw in some themed stuff. I wish Disney Princess shirts for adults were easier to find! I had one black tank that had Cinderella's coach on it, but it shrunk upwards in the wash, so it's waaay too short :-(
Hmm, can't wait to find out who they were talking to!

it was the people who ask if you want to be grand marhall in the parade.

now what do i win.

Aw..I love waking up at WDW for the first day! :cloud9: It just gives you butterflies in your stomach.

Yes! You saw the opening show! Isn't it so cute?! I can't help but cry. The family of the day look so happy up there.

I think that parent/child swap thing is so great! You guys got Space and BTMRR done fast! Love your Space pics! Wait until you see ours. :rotfl:

I LOVE the MK morning show! It's just so much fun. Love the Space Mtn pics. I keep forgetting that they take your picture now! I'll have to remember to take a pic of my ride pic....hahaha.

I love the shirts you guys made!! Where did you buy the iron ons at? I keep trying to find iron on Disney font...now THAT is impossible. I'm convinced that they dont exist.
Thats awesome that Landon liked the Haunted Mansion! you're lucky to have such a brave little boy!
can't wait to read morepopcorn::

oh and thanks for the advice on Pop, right when I read your response, I literally had just pulled up the same map on allears lol I'm leaning towards staying in the 1960's buildings...I like the statues there the best lol and its close to the hippy dippy pool/bus area

Do you believe I've never seen the show at MK?? :scared1: I always end up going there mid day when they have EMH and staying there late night. I've never started my morning there. I will have to do it eventually. maybe if we go on our nkotb/bsb/disney trip ;)

SPACE MOUNTAIN! WOO! It's about time girl!

Love the shrits you made!

Good luck with the babysitting situation!

Just WOW!

Not meaning to hi-jack your thread, but you really need to read my TR about out first day at MK (taming the 3 mtns) - we were literally about 10 feet from you! If you check out my rope drop pic's, you will see how close we were! Too bad you didn't notice my lime green Mickey hanging from my bag :upsidedow

Maybe your group is in my pic's?

DS REFUSED to move front & center to see the opening ceremony so we could high tail it to Space Mt  So we were also riding at about the same time as you. AND we went to BTRRM next :lmao:

But then we headed straight to Splash (my fav too) after BTRRM when you went over to HM, BUT we had lunch at the Harbour House - we were there about 11:15. Did you happen to talk to a CM from Michigan? He was sooo great & friendly.

Anyway, enjoying your TR but more so AMAZED just how a small world it really is! If you post that you went to DHS your next day I'm really going be gasping in surprise :scared1::laughing::goodvibes

Looking forward to reading more popcorn::

I just loved the update! Your shirts are awesome, and so are the tiaras. I know you wear your tiara all of the time, but I know at MK it was much more special! I hope you got your picture made in front of the castle.

Landon is such a cutie! So glad that he enjoyed Haunted Mansion. :goodvibes

I have no guesses as to who your friends were talking to. I can't wait to find out! :yay:

So sorry to hear about the babysitting situation that must be tough :sad2:

Glad to see your first day at Disney was a lot of fun...I have to say I LOVE the shirts that you made..I wish you lived around here I would have to pay you to make me one for my trip coming up :rotfl:

Do you think space mountain was less bumpy or really any different than before?

Hi Kimmy!!! Your TR is so great so far!! It looks like you guys were having a fabulous time!!

Landon is just about the cutest baby I have ever seen! :lovestruc He looks like he was having a great time!

Can't wait to hear all about the rest of your trip! :wizard:

Thanks!! I never mind waking up in Disney!! So worth it!!

Steph picked up all the stuff for the shirts and I'm pretty sure she got them from Hobby Lobby. The shirts were really cheap, on sale for like $1. The most expensive was the iron-on tiara which were $10 each...but they were the only thing that looked perfect!!

This is the only day we had any matchy-ness. They are so cute and good for pictures but we hated being in them...we wanted tank tops so bad!! That really stinks about that Cinderella coach shirt you had...sounds like it was way cute!

it was the people who ask if you want to be grand marhall in the parade.

now what do i win.

I WISH!! One day I better get picked for that too though!! It definitely wasn't anything that cool.

Aw..I love waking up at WDW for the first day! It just gives you butterflies in your stomach.

Yes! You saw the opening show! Isn't it so cute?! I can't help but cry. The family of the day look so happy up there.

I think that parent/child swap thing is so great! You guys got Space and BTMRR done fast! Love your Space pics! Wait until you see ours.

First days really are so great...there is just an energy in the air that is something you can never duplicate anywhere ever!!

I love the opening show too, and yes, I cry!! Maybe it's a good thing I haven't been picked...I would probably be bawling the whole time I was up there!! If not, I would for sure cry every time I thought of that magical moment. What a great start to a families day! I love that they do that!!

Parent swap is really awesome!! I love it. I can't wait to see your Space pics! I bet they are great!

I LOVE the MK morning show! It's just so much fun. Love the Space Mtn pics. I keep forgetting that they take your picture now! I'll have to remember to take a pic of my ride pic....hahaha.

I always look like such a dork if I don't know the picture is coming!! Glad you had this little reminder! I know you'll get a super cute pic!! What rides do you think Madison will want to try this year?

I love the shirts you guys made!! Where did you buy the iron ons at? I keep trying to find iron on Disney font...now THAT is impossible. I'm convinced that they dont exist.

Haha...I bet if Landon had a choice, he wouldn't have been so brave! :rotfl: but I'm glad he warmed up to it! My game plan is to not ever make rides (especially thrill rides) sound scary or anything so he will refuse to go when he's older. Hopefully it works. I would CRY if my boy was tall enough for ToT and didn't want to go. :rotfl2:

No problem on the Pop stuff!! I hope you get your request filled! I can't wait to see where you end up and what you think of it!

That's crazy!! I would LOVE to stay at some of the super-late night EMH's! But everyone else in my party always runs out of energy before me! :confused3 I thought it was just my parents, but it happened with Steph and Dustin towards the end of the trip too! Oh well. Maybe we'll have to squeeze in some super late EMH's for me and then a morning show for you on our boy band bonanza trip! Not consecutively though! ;)

Just WOW!

I will have to head over to your tr!! How crazy that we had the same game plan and were so close together! Keep a look out for yourself in the rest of my MK day for sure!! And I didn't catch a glimpse at where anyone was from at CHH...I was on a mission!! They were all so friendly though!!

I would've loved to go to DHS next...and like every day. It's my favorite park! But we went to AK the next day! I wonder if our paths crossed any other days though!

:yay:

Thanks!! Wearing a tiara in the MK is more magical...people are like 'hey princess' instead of 'what's with the tiara?' I like it when people don't question my royalty. Sometimes they'll just call me princess without asking in the real world, but it's just different...you can tell they don't get it!

Thanks! I would love to make you a shirt! I had so much fun doing it!! They're really easy to make, it was all iron ons!! I bet you could do it yourself!

That was actually my first ride on Space Mountain! This was only my 2nd trip and last time, it had been closed for the big referb!

Hi Kimmy!!! Your TR is so great so far!! It looks like you guys were having a fabulous time!!

Landon is just about the cutest baby I have ever seen! :lovestruc He looks like he was having a great time!

Can't wait to hear all about the rest of your trip! :wizard:

Thanks!!! We did have the best time!! And thanks, Landon had the best time and I loved just looking at the wonder in his eyes!! So cute!

I always look like such a dork if I don't know the picture is coming!! Glad you had this little reminder! I know you'll get a super cute pic!! What rides do you think Madison will want to try this year?

I usually look like a dork in ride pics too. I'm never prepared!!!! Madison wants to try Space Mountain and that's about it. She refuses to ride Splash again and doesn't want to try EE. Maybe we'll have to watch more youtube videos for both those rides. She already loves Big Thunder.

I will have to head over to your tr!! How crazy that we had the same game plan and were so close together! Keep a look out for yourself in the rest of my MK day for sure!! And I didn't catch a glimpse at where anyone was from at CHH...I was on a mission!! They were all so friendly though!!

I think I'm going to be as excited to read your TR as I am to write my own just wondering if we will be in :scared1: the twilight zone :scared1: touring parallel universes

We ALMOST did AK the next day since it was recommended on touring plans but since I'm nuts over Fantasmic, it's one of the first dining ADR's I have to arrange so I assure myself I'm going to see the show (barring any weather issues) without having to wait in a line for over an hour ;) And that was the only day I was able to get the dining package while we were there & not conflict with the late EMH over at MK.

I'll be looking forward to hearing who Dustin was speaking to when you were at Columbia Harbour House. I really have no guess, about the time we were over there I was so annoyed with my DH over our mishaps with POTC that I don't think I would've noticed anything :rolleyes1 (it's okay, I got over it quick)

popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

Those shirts are awesome, I love them (and I want one...)
The tiaras are adorable too, wearing them let everyone knew y'all were princesses, great idea! Isn't Space Mountain fun, it's a nice thrill

My face always looks goofy because I'm not prepared...but on every thrill ride, I'm always the one with my hands up in the air. I think that automatically equates to dork. I hope she'll enjoy Space...if she likes the ride in the dark, do you think she'd try RnRC? Is it mostly drops she doesn't like? If that were the case, I would def steer away from EE, but I don't think RnRC was droppy at all. Just lots of twists and also the only upside down...so maybe she won't like it.

I think I'm going to be as excited to read your TR as I am to write my own just wondering if we will be in :scared1: the twilight zone :scared1: touring parallel universes

Aw, thanks!! I think you will like my DHS day...but I don't want to give anything away!!

I did go to AK because of Tour Guide Mike! I guess him and touring plans are pretty close. I like to make DHS my last stop though...it gets me so excited, even more so when I'm there. I'm pretty sure I would just cancel every AK and Epcot if it were scheduled for after because I couldn't stand not going back. I ALMOST cancelled going to MK my last day in favor of DHS...and sometimes I still think maybe I made the wrong decision. That's how much I LOVE DHS! :rotfl:

Ooooh if you were around when we were talking to this guy, you would've known it!! That's all I'm saying though! ;)

Those shirts are awesome, I love them (and I want one...)
The tiaras are adorable too, wearing them let everyone knew y'all were princesses, great idea! Isn't Space Mountain fun, it's a nice thrill

Thanks!! The shirts are super easy to make...it was all just iron-on's! So easy, I bet you could make one! Unless you don't have an iron...

Thanks!! Do you own a tiara? You should!! I wear mine all the times!! You can get them pretty cheap without looking all cheap and plastic.

I LOVE Space Mountain...wish I were on it right now!! :guilty:

LIFE UPDATE!!

So things are working out in babysitting. My mom is really wanting to watch him, but I do know he wears her out. So I have another prospect who I'm going to have watch him part time and then my mom part time as well, so she doesn't get too tired. Also, in most counties in my state, I make too much to qualify for government assistance...but I live in one of the richer counties, so here, I do qualify! So I should be getting some help with that!

Also, yesterday I went to the
DENVER BRONCOS training camp!! Wooohoooo!! So excited for football season!! (Everyone please tell me who you like!! I LOVE football!) It was so fun. Sadly, Tim Tebow wasn't there due to some minor injury. :sad2: But you want to know why I got over that? Because I met Brady Quinn.

No, he is not the best qb. Not even close. In our only pre-season game, our starting qb (Kyle Orton) threw 2 touchdowns. Tim Tebow ran in a touchdown and Brady? He threw an interception. :headache: A lady sitting next to me at training camp told me he wasn't looking so good and I replied "oh, no he looks VERY good...just not on the football field." In case you guys don't believe me...oogle away. ;)

Pictures don't do him justice...but close enough!

Landon is getting HUGE. And talking away. He is OBSESSED with Toy Story and always asks to watch the movies. He knows where they are and just says "Toys! Toys!!" Buzz is his FAVORITE and he has all this Buzz stuff and will always run around the house with it screaming "AND BEYOND!" So cute. I'll try to catch it on video for you guys!

Hope you are all had a good week! There will be an update this weekend!! Let me know what your plans are and favorite NFL football team! :goodvibes

I'm not really a football fan but if I had to pick a team to root for it would be the Giants. Local team. I guess I could cheer for the Jets too but Rex Ryan annoys the crap outta me. Kris is a Packers fan so all I hear about is Brett Favre (even though he plays for the Vikings now  ) I can't stand Favre because of all the 'I'm retiring..no I'm not...yes I am' nonsense. I think I'm going to avoid Kris's place on Sundays very soon. :rotfl:

Glad the babysitting situation seems to be working itself out!
