I have never been on the great movie ride, but my 9 year old has and said it is fine for his brother(3). Any suggestions?

I took my three and one year old on it no problems. There are a few dark scenes but I don't think it's scary more scary exciting for a young kid. My daughters love to be scared though. At those parts just make sure your arm is around him. It really isn't bad at all.

I have not had a 3 year old in some time, but the only part that my son didn't like was the part from Alien. We would just cover his eyes so that he wouldn't see that part. And he was ok with that. The rest of it he loved.

It all depends what scares/interests your son i think

My boys would have hated it last year when they were 4, they might be better this time but I personally don't see it as a kid's ride - they don't know most of the movies so I can't imagine them being interested enough to sit for almost 20 minutes, and they still wouldn't like the Alien section

I found a you tube video for you though....http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=npMi9odYKc4&desktop_uri=/watch?v=npMi9odYKc4

Yeah, my kids were not into this ride at all really. Nothing in it was scary in the slightest to them, but they simply did not know most of the movies that were shown. This is one of those rides that is better for adults, imo - not because it's too scary for kids, just because it's kind of boring to them.

My two year old went on it last year. We just covered her eyes during the alien part. The other thing is the ride is incredible loud, we have those sound earmuff type things that worked really well!

Last time, we didn't take our 3.5 year old on it due to the alien part which can be quite scary....and this time, if our 8 year old wants to ride it's fine, but I'm keeping the 4 year old off of it.... I think he'd be terrified and I don't want to ruin other rides because of that one.

DD3 has been on the GMR since she was 6 months lol. I guess she's used to it because nothing in it bothers her. She just sits and watches.

Each kid is different.
My 7 and 5 year olds are terrified of that ride and refuse to go on it again.

We go every year and have had kids of all ages from infant through 11 (we go every yr so we've hit each age multiple times) we always ride the great movie ride and none of them have ever had a problem with. Having said that I don't think any of the kids have ever asked to go on it, just because it's kinda boring for a kid, but it's a nice place to sit, get out of the heat a rest for 20 mins or so.

We had our 3 year old on it and it did not bother him. If there was a scary part, he would cuddle up close to me. However, my 8 year old said it is too scary.

My 2 year old just went on this ride and loved it. Especially the Wizard of Oz scene. He was only slightly scared during Alien

It depends on your child. There is some shooting and some gangsters/outlaws. It didn't bother DD (7) at all when she was 3. She liked it. I did cover her eyes on the Alien part when she was small. You will know when it is coming up- you enter the spaceship. I'm pretty sure that would have totally freaked her out at that age. It is just a small short part of the ride though.
