The Grammys thread

how is it someone who said they aren't country win country album of the year? That annoys me. They aren't country anymore, they don't want to be.

i never heard the album, but i like their not ready to make nice song. They are quite talented I think, but everyone (their fans, ex fans, themselves, the media) need to get past that whole political statement.

Wasn't Ludracris the one in that movie with Matt Dillon, Sandra Bullock, etc? I can't remember what it was called but it was a pretty serious movie abotu racial issues I believe? Anyway, I heard that when they had the cast of the movie on the show Ludacris felt like he didn't get the proper respect from Oprah. I don't think she acknowledged him very much.

How can you win for a category you yourself say you are not? Could have sworn the Chicks said they were not country. They should have declined the nomination to begin with since that is not the genre of music but to do "na na" is just sad.

Oh and Ludacris was really being sarcastic about O'Reilly but I'm not sure what his beef is with Oprah.

I like them too,but then I am a tree hugging liberal

The movie was Crash. Here's an article.

Ludacris Vs. Oprah Winfrey
Watch who you beef with, Luda. Didn't you read chappelletheory.com??

I've always felt a funny attitude coming from Oprah, towards hip-hop.. I remember a show 10 or 12 years ago where she spent the hour seething with disdain for Ice T, and that's usually the vibe I've gotten since. But I don't catch her show too often, if more regular viewers can offer evidence to the contrary please do.

Luda, Oprah.. Oprah, Luda
Ludacris has lashed out at Oprah Winfrey, after he was initially refused to appear on her prime time talk show, and then publicly lectured when he was finally allowed on the show...

“She edited out a lot of my comments while keeping her own in. Of course, it’s her show, but we were doing a show on racial discrimination and she gave me a hard time as a rapper when I came on there as an actor,” said Luda, real name Chris Bridges. “Initially, I wasn’t even invited on the show.”

“After the taping, she pulled me into a room and we had a five-minute conversation,” he continued. “What I got was that by having rappers on her show, she feels like she is empowering in them. It was like being at someone’s house who doesn’t really want you there.”

“I don’t see why [comedians] Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle, who I am huge fans of, it’s OK for them to go on Oprah. They speak the same language as I do, but they do it through comedy, so I guess that’s acceptable to her [Oprah]....”

Thank you my point exactly.

Geez, I saw that show, was she supposed to bend down and kiss his feet? It was big cast and yeah she didn't spend as much time on the secondary roles but I thought she was nice enough to him.

Yes, it does. The Dixie Chicks are talented, but nonetheless.

Yeah, but as Mandy said, they no longer want to be associated with the country genre. Natalie's comment about millions turning off their tv's and then giggling, then ending with the Simpson's "na na" is an in your face to her former fans in my opinion.

I really like Carrie Underwood. She's got a great voice and you can tell she's really down to earth.

It's not fair to the other country artists who are country but yet Dixie Chicks said they aren't and win. That just upsets me.

She's not as down to earth as people think. I've read some things on different boards that people have said about meeting her.

Hey, is that Rascal Flatts singing Eagles? Need to pay attention to the tv here...
