The Goodys 1st Cruise! -TRIP REPORT Updated 2/17/12 Page 6

Great plan for the day!!!! I don't know if you've stayed at WL before but if the boat line is nuts or the weather decides it's going to be horrible (HOPEFULLY NOT!) but the bus is a lot quicker than the boat. We stayed there a good 5 times before we realized there was a bus that goes to MK and right back with no stops in between which can be a life savor if there is bad weather or long boat lines!

Thank you! We have not stayed there yet! How long is the bus ride? I am trying to figure out what time to be at the bus for an 8AM ADR??

Loving this pre-trip report so much I had to join! Cannot wait to hear more!!

Yay! Welcome!!:woohoo: Happy New Year!!

I'm in.

The pictures of your boys on Main Street through the years are too adorable!!!!! What great memories and what stinkin' cuties!

Jill in CO

Thanks Jill!! Welcome!! I will be taking another picture this year too!!:woohoo: Happy New Year!

Who knows how this is really going to go down, but being the crazy planner I am, I have some thoughts!:rolleyes1:

This Pre-Trip Report is saving my life becaues my family is so sick of hearing me go over all the details of the trip. They like for me to plan and for them to go and enjoy but they just don't get as excited as I do about the planning part.... well my oldest Myles is pretty into it. But I am sure even he is getting sick of me talking about it, so THANK YOU for giving me this outlet!!

February 2nd 2012 - we will wake up and head to breakfast at Roaring Forks and use our last counter service. Michael at VIP Limo should be arriving around 10:00 to pick us up. He told us about this great liquor store that he will bring us to and we will load as much beer/wine/champagne that we can fit into our carry-on bags!

I can't wait to see this!
008.jpg

When we did our online check in we picked to arrive at the terminal at 11:30. So hopefully, it will not be too crazy! We decided not to go with passports because of the expense and they were not needed, so I have spent the last month running around to all the different cities and getting birth certificates with raised seals for each of us.

This is a pretty helpful diagram of the check in area

Once on the ship I am pretty sure our day will go like this:

Mandatory Drill
Saily Away Party- trying to decide if we watch on the upper deck or on the main deck where the party is!?
DisneyMagic2009_SailAwayParty.jpg

At 5:00 - we will head to our room and open up a bottle of champagne and sit on the verandah and watch the ship set sail!

Dinner is at 6:00 - early dining and then we will bring the kids to the kids club for a couple of hours so we can check out some of the adult hot spots!
I am torn, and don't know about the shows.... If we go to a show at 8:30 then it really eats into our only "adult" time .... Maybe we will go to the show on the last night?

DisneyDream1-11238.jpg

After we pick the kids up from the kids club we will either take them for a late night dip in the hot tub or head back to the cabin and get them to sleep! We have adjoining rooms so we may end up having the kids lay in one cabin so we can hang out in the other if we are not ready to go to bed yet.

WOW! That seems like a busy day!! The next day plan is going to be WAY more relaxing!!!!!

Great first day plans!!! I love the diagram!!!!! I saw in another TR about dropping stuff off to have characters sign it? What's the deal with that??? I guess I haven't done enough research on that. Do they not sign anything if you wait in character lines or does it just save you time in waiting in the lines? It's a great idea! I saw in one report that they dropped off pillow cases which was a cute idea!!

I'd say after the bus arrives, it will take less than 5 mins to get there. You basically go under Bay Lake, past CR, and you're there. For an 8am ADR, I'd probably leave no later than 7:40 but maybe 7:30 to be on the safe side and will allow you time if you want to snap some pictures before your ADR.

The boys are super cute, it was nice seeing all the Disney pictures of them though the years. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your TR.

I am loving the plans...from the surprise limo to the early morning CP (my favorite thing to do), the boys walking (crawling) down Main Street.

I'm sad too that Big Thunder and Dumbo will be closed while we are there.

The first day checking into the cruise looks like such fun..

Great plans!
sounds like some fun days ahead! I know I have seen all the main street photos but I love seeing them all together!

I have heard the shows on Disney ships are awesome so if they are differnent each night you guys need to really try to catch them, I like te idea of the boys in one room while you guys have some adult fun!

Ok, first of all, thank you for planning my first day for me:rotfl2: Seriously, you know what you're doing and I'm totally freaking out so I'm just going to take your lead. K?:thumbsup2

Second, I LOVE that pic of Owen (or is it Myles) crawling down Main Street!!! It is truly one of my fav Disney pics ever!!

Third, we will be in MK during the day and hopping over to Epcot for dinner at Garden Grill at 6:00. We'll prob be in MK until about 4 or so. I was planning on watching the 3:00 parade and then heading out. Hopefully we can meet up sometime before then!!! If not just for a pic:cutie:

Can wait to hear more about my, er, I mean your plans! Tee hee :)

I have read that you can drop 2 things off to be signed. So it works out because I have two kids... but I am sure it would stink if you had more than 2 kids! You have to go back at the end of the trip and pick it up. (Hopefullly I will not forget! :rotfl2:)

Nice having WL so close to MK! We can sleep an extra 30 minutes or so! So the bus is probably faster than the boat! How is at the end of the night at MK? Do you think the boat line is longer than the bus usually?

Thanks!! :goodvibes I can't wait to get my new picture of them walking down Main Street.... in 29 more days!!:yay:

I know about the rides being closed!:headache: Big Thunder is Myles favorite ride too! :sad1: I have a feeling with Fantasyland construction and some of the big rides being closed its going to feel extra busy! Usually in January it always feels like we have the park to ourselves.

Great plans!

Thanks Connie! I know- the shows do look really great.... everything looks so great though!! I have a feeling 3 days is not going to be enough to get it all done. Myles has BIG plans for the kids club though. I have a feeling I am going to have to beg him to spend a little time with us! :rotfl2:

Let's plan to meet for the parade at 3. We are leaving right after that too! We can get a quick picture and meet! You are too funny! Wait until you hear our day 2 plans- you will love them!! :cloud9:

Welcome!!:woohoo: I see you are going on the Fantasy!! I am Jealous!! Who knows, maybe I can get my DH to book on the Fantasy while we are on the Dream!!

My Goddaughter said when she was about 6 that she wanted to go on a disney cruise for her graduation. About 3 years ago she discovered that she and her best friend could not book their own room so they said I could go and I needed to book.
Mom and I cruised in 2005 a 4day on the Wonder and a 7 day aboard the Sapphire Princess. She wanted a 7 day disney.

Last Feburary I was needing a DIS fix and started noticing everything about the Dream and wanted to try it.
As a result we are going on a 7day Fantasy cruise next year as Morgan's graduation gift, Christmas gift 2011 and 2012 Birthday 2011 and 18th Birthday 2012. Want to know what she wants for an18th Birthday? Dinner at Palo and Remy.

I am following your wonderful report. We will be going on the Dream for our first cruise in April, so I look so forward to hearing all of your thoughts and plans. I am a planner to (a little OCD), but I want my family to have a great vacation.:cheer2:

She has great taste!!! Sounds amazing!!!:cloud9: Where does it go? We are thinking of booking on the cruise for our 10th year (next year) and thinking about the 7 day on the fantasy- the one that goes to grand cayman i think!?

Thank you!!! I love the planning- sometimes i love the planning more than the trip LOL!!

Here are the plans for Day 2!

Now keep in mind, I have NO IDEA how the weather is going to be. I have looked at reports from January last year and it seems like it was pretty nice and the pools are heated so I HOPE this will be a warm and beautiful day, but who knows!!??

IMG_1585.jpg

On Day 2, we will sleep in a little, and let everyone else leave the boat for Nassau. Our plan is to stay on the boat today! I hope it isn't everyone's plans, but my research on the DIS has me thinking that most people may stay on the boat!

We will wake up to room service and have our breakfast out on the verandah and check out the view of the Bahamas from our balcony.

First thing on the agenda is to head to the AQUADUCK!

This is going to be SUCH a fun morning! Swimming and Aquaduck, Sports Deck, Mini Golfing, Characters, Nemo Splash area! The kids are going to have a blast!!

DisneyDream1-11214.jpg

After our morning of fun, we will have lunch and then bring the kids to the kids club for a few hours.

What will we do with no kids!?

I want to hit the adult’s cove area, and then hit the Spa! I had booked the Rainforest Room day-passes for me and Wayne and it looks heavenly!

Senses-Spa-Rainforest-Loungers.jpg

I want to hang out in the sun and read for a little bit, and just relax!!

I also want to go to the 4th deck with some wine and play some shuffleboard with Wayne. He keeps laughing at me, because this is one thing that I am looking forward to the most!

We will probably pick up the kids from the kids club around 3, and take them for a swim and then head back to our cabin to relax before dinner.

Dinner is at 6:00 - and then we will take the kids to D Lounge for some fun while we wait for the Pirate Night Fun to begin!

072.jpg

After the show, we might head to the shops or the Jacuzzi,
IMG_4811.jpg

or just go back to the Cabin and get the kiddos to bed. I know I will be looking forward to our day in Castaway Cay!

Up Next: Castaway Cay and our last night on vacation….

IMG_1582.jpg

I wanted to add that the Bay Lake (WL, CR, FW) boat leaves at exactly 7:00am from WL onto CR and begins it's cycle from there. When we've stayed there and had an early ADR in the MK/MK resorts area, we do this and take the resorts monorail (also starting at 7:00am) or walk to MK.

I love the plans for the day. That AquaDuck looks so cool for the kids.

ooooh!! Thanks so much for telling me this. I will probably take the boat to CR and then walk over to the MK!!

I am so glad to hear about your son!! Thank goodness huh!!??:goodvibes

Oh, I just can't wait. After being in the cold rain/snow mix today with the wind, and just being chilled to the bone all day- I just can't stop dreaming of my lounge chair!!

Today will be our last full day and my most anticipated day....

CastawayCay61.jpg
!

Castaway_rentals_09.jpg

Being the obsessive planner that I am, I have read lot's of reports about the Ship not being able to dock at Castaway Cay... and that January is the highest month for that (according to a recent poll on here) :scared1: I am glad I know of this possibility because if it happens it will not be such a shock!

That being said, I REALLY hope we get to dock at Castaway Cay and enjoy the beautiful Island!! :cloud9:

100_2301.jpg

What are the plans for Castaway?

Well, after waking up and stepping out onto the verandah for coffee and some breakfast from room service, we will head out to Castaway Cay. Our plans are to spend the morning with the kids at the family beach.

Stingrays perhaps?

watershots172.jpg

We might just want to swim and have fun....

IMG_4190.jpg

We will have lunch at the BBQ place! Yum

DSC00296.jpg

Then the kids will check out Scuttles Cove for a few hours while we check out SERENITY BAY!!!! :cloud9:

IMG_1572.jpg

We plan to lay in the sun, read our books, and drink fruity cocktails all afternoon. :goodvibes

I guess we will have to say goodbye to Castaway Cay at some point!
DCL_3_copy.jpg

Once back to the boat, we will have cocktail hour with our friends on our verandah (Did I mention we have adjoining rooms and will have a double verandah!)

DSC00975.jpg

We will let the kids unwind in the room, watch some tv and then get ready for dinner. Hopefully watch a beautiful sunset!

094-1.jpg

The kids will want to see the Farewell party tonight for sure!
IMG_4928.jpg

Who knows what will happen next, I hope we will be able to do a cheer to a wonderful vacation either from our balcony or one of the beautiful bars on the ship.
DisneyDream1-11244.jpg

We will have to say goodbye to this beautiful boat tomorrow:sad1:

DSCN0537A.jpg

Michael at VIP Limo is picking us up bright and early to take us back to the airport - our flight is at 12:30p.m. We have big plans for as soon as we get home, because hopefully we will be watching The New England Patriots win the superbowl!!!

Love the pictures of Castaway Cay and the characters for the "goodbye" part of the cruise. Castaway looks so beautiful and serene.

I'm sure you are going to have a great time.

I won't say anything about your plans when you get home. ;)
