So, on our second attempt to get to Disney World, we are leaning towards doing just the quick service dining plan instead of the regular dining plan. Both for cost and because I don't want our first trip to Disney to be all about keeping an ADR every day.

We still may pay for a couple of Table Service restaurants out of pocket but my question for you fine Disney lovin' folks is...

What QS restaurants would you say are the best?:thumbsup2

The ones that are simply ok...:confused3

And lastly which one would you say to absolutely positively avoid...

THANKS!:flower3:

The best to us are:
MK - Columbia Harbor House

AK - Flame Tree BBQ

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons
Yorkshire Fish & Chips
Tangierene Cafe

Coronado Springs - Pepper Market

DD - Wolfgang Puck Express

Worst to us:
All in DHS (ABC Comm. in particular)

I second the above post on liking Sunshine Seasons (In the land pavilion at Epcot). Also I love love the orig Wolfgang Puck cafe, so the "express" is a great way to get some of the food without having a sit down dinner :goodvibes. We always eat at Cosmic Ray's in the MK (not because the food is anything special, but because the singing dino guy on stage is so cute and my DD loved the "entertainment")

absolute best, not to be missed is Wolgang Puck Express.
Also love Tangeriene Cafe and Sunshine seasons in Epcot.
If you are around there, Mara at AKL Has great African stew in bread bowl, and chicken flatbread, with zebra domes for dessert.

Cosmic Rays, and Columbia harbor House in MK are good.
Flame tree BBQ in AK is also decent
Starring Rolls at Studios has good sandwiches and great desserts.

Sorry but I don't have any must avoid, but people on the boards have said ABC comissary at Studios.

For counter services, my preferences are as follows:

Magic Kingdom - Columbia Harbour, Cosmic Rays, El Pirata y el Perico (if opened).
Epcot - Sunshine Seasons, Tangerine Cafe, Yorkshire Fish and Chips, Yakitori House.
AK - Yak and Yeti, Pizzafari, Flame Tree BBQ
HS - Pizza Planet, Starring Rolls.
DD - WPE, Earl of Sandwich.

For snacks:

Magic Kingdom - Main Street Bakery, Dole Whip Float
Epcot - anything from the Boulangerie in France and anything from the Kuche Karamel shop in Germany. I also like the slushies - alcoholic or not at Epcot.
DHS - Any Starring Rolls cupcakes
DAK - I normally get a Mickey icecream at DAK or a fruit snack from Harambe's; so I'm not sure what the local specialty is
DTD - Goofy's Kitchen, Ghiradelli

I've stayed at both POR and CSR; and the food courts are...well....like Creamed Canned Corn...in both. There are really lovely stands; and then others that are a bit lumpy. But I have to say that POR food court was a little bit better than CSR (not by much)....and there was no mandatory 10% sales tax for sit-in dining at POR.

Definitely Sunshine Seasons in Epcot. The nachos at the CS place in Mexico are yummy yummy (along with a Margarita!!). Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bill in MK are good (and the portions at Cosmic Ray's are huge). Stay away from ABC Commissary in HS (yuck). Believe it or not I have never eaten CS at AK! (We always eat at Rainforest Cafe) but I hear great things about Flametree BBQ.

As far as resorts go, POR has a great food court. I haven't stayed at POP in a few years but they had a large selection from what I remember.

Magic Kingdom- Columbia Harbor House
Epcot- Sunshine Seasons and Tangierine Cafe, most notably... But we enjoyed Lotus Blossom Cafe and Yorkshire Fish and Chips... Also, Yakitori House smelled delicious but we were too full.
DHS- Starring Rolls... Full stop. Its deliciousness sticks out like a sore thumb at DHS.
DTD- Wolfgang Puck Express. Do not miss this place.

We love Sunshine Seasons at Epcot. We found ourselves eating there a couple times on our last trip. I'm really picky about sandwiches, and found myself loving their Turkey and Monterey Jack Cheese on Foccacia. It was amazing!

We also like the following places:
MK:
Cosmic Ray's--good food, but even better entertainment--love Sonny Eclipse!
I've found that you can't really go wrong with CS in this park. I don't think we've ever had a bad meal here.

Epcot:
Sunshine Seasons (The Land)
Liberty Inn (American Pavilion)--for fast food basics, it's pretty decent.
I've never gone wrong at the CS places in Mexico and China. Always yummy, but the CS chinese food isn't anything I can't get at home.

Animal Kingdom:
We've only eaten at Pizzafari and Flame Tree BBQ. Pizza and sandwiches were good but basic.

Hollywood Studios:
We avoid eating at this park, but have gotten CS from the stands near Tower of Terror in recent years. Mostly pizza and chicken fingers, but good.

I suggest avoiding ABC Commissary at all costs. It's the worst food I've had at WDW.

DTD:
Wolfgang Puck Express is GREAT!!!

Hi You may find you come out ahead paying out of pocket for all your meals, rather than get the QS dining plan AND paying for some TS meals.

But certainly for the convenience, the QSDP would be the best option!

We like:
Pizzafari and Flame Tree at AK,
Pecos Bills and Columbia Harbour House at MK, or the Main St. Bakery
Tangierine Cafe and Fish N Chips in Epcot (we are NOT a fan of Sunshine Seasons - it takes a long time to get everything you need, unless you can all go separately and get your own food)
Backlot Express at DHS (we ate at ABC in December and thought it was fine - we got burgers and turkey sandwich on white bread)

Have fun deciding,
