The Good Ole Freap Chat ~ Sequel Part III ~

sitting here waiting for maintenence to hopefully come today! We had issues with our A/C at the apartment yesterday...they came this morning and fixed it and had to put in a new thermostat...however it's one of the old school lever style ones and I can't read it for anything!!! So I went out and bought a digital one and called to get them to come install it...but not sure if they will actually make it today...and I have to leave in about an hour to get DH from work...
I've thought about trying it myself, since I'm really good with fixing things myself...but I've never dealt with anything electric like that and I don't want to mess it up..so I guess I'll just be waiting...at least the air is working properly today...I just wish I could read what I have it set at..

By NY do you mean NYC? If so, I have to say I just loved Central Park. There was so much to see there with all the trails and statues. There are so many places where movies have been shot that I could have wandered there all day.

Central Park is a must for us. The best part it is free. I still can not believe the deal I got on airfare roundtrip. Crazy and South Bend,IN is not all that big.

Is it just me or has the Dis been REALLY slow!!!?
A few times when trying to post or read posts, it took so long I just said forget it, and left!

Not much going on around here. Today I am getting my hair cut and colored.
My hair has had a mind of it's own. The meds they have me on have done some funky things to my hair.
They told me when I first signed on for the trail of this med they said it my hair would change most likely.
I should not complain as I did not lose my hair but dear lord the things it has done

Ok you will all be so proud of me. I just booked roundtrip tickets to NYC for $117 for all three of us. We will only have two full days to explore the city. Any pointers... The cheaper the better. When we get back home we are moving the next day to Bloomington. Jetamerica.com is offering some $9.00 flights. Soo cool. That is my bargain of the day. I hope everyone else is having a great day.

Great deal! The last(and only)time I was in NYC was right after the first World Trade Center bombing-1992 maybe. We had great fun and most of the touristy stuff isn't too expensive. You can go in the Statue of Liberty again now, the Empire State building, Ellis Island, etc. If you can swing the price, you could always go see a play. We went to Little Italy and walked around until we saw a place straight out of the Godfather and ate dinner. I'm sure Madd has more off the beaten path options since she seems to go often.

The insurance copmanies want it to be max an over night stay.
I bet if one of the big old pencil pushers had to go thru this or see someone they love they would want to change it to let people stay in.

Hey Freaps! We are on page 4! Yikes!

Madd, I have been thinking about you all weekend, there is a HUGE Harley Rally going on here in Ft Smith!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

My Aunt passed away yesterday, so we are gearing up to head to OK for the funeral that is Tuesday.

Maggie, how are the dogs doing?? Heard you got your crib!! Whoo hoo!

Maggie- It's not just you. Little by little the freaps kept dropping. Maybe b/c of some drama, who knows.

OK- now I am putting on the flame suit! And this is just MY opinion- I am sure others may see if differently.

I am going to be perfectly honest. The place is boring anymore! I remember back in the day it was a fun thread where people can get freebies and chit chat in the meantime. It was a really good time!! We would have 10,000s of views.

As time went on, we would get a complaint here and there about the conversations. That lead to the freap chat. It was a bit difficult to stop in mid chat on the freebie thread and run over here. The conversation would just lose steam (and maybe some people were happy when that happened)

Fast forward. In spite of the complaints, we still continued to have fun and chit chat but you then had people come out of lurking, or a newbie, who would complain about too much chit chatting, hijacking, OT etc etc.

IMO- Too much complaining about the fun lead to it's demise. Obviously, it's no fun anymore, so who wants to go there. It's robotic.

But hey- at least there is no more chit chatting, hijacking and being OT.

I haven't been checking the freebie thread either, I just come here for FREAP time! lol lol! I mean to do it, but things have been so super busy!

One of us needs to win the lottery so we can all take a FREAP trip to WDW..

Maggie, I loooove your belly pics! I went through that for awhile where I just felt fat bit no preggo- trust me, you look ADORABLE! You should check out Old Navy for maternity tank tops (the kind with the built in bra) they are HEAVEN and are form fitting so you look more preggers

Thank you I think my emotions are just beat- I am pretty numb after everything that has happened this month.

We don't know where we are going yet. Right now we are looking for somewhere to stay around here until we find out where we are going. We have it narrowed down to two places- one is a nice sized duplex, that is priced under budget for us.. the other one is a house (with a POOL!) that is over budget... my gut says go with the under budget one, but poor DBF wants the house soooo bad! lol.

We got the crib! Its been on backorder for months now. We have had the armoire and the dresser/changing table combo for a while. So we go to pick it up and they tell us that either someone returned it or that they cancelled their order. We ended up with all four sides, but no mattress/springs support, no hardware, and no instructions on how to put it together. Weve been on the phone with them all day. Apparently that piece wasnt supposed to be sold. Hopefully they can order parts and it will get to us fairly quickly. We were starting to wonder whether the baby would get here before the crib. They did say that they have a long list of people waiting for this crib... so i hope it doesnt take forever! LOL

They are doing good. Jethro is back to normal, and Ellie's legs are still a little off... but all in all she is doing much better. The antibiotics really did well for her and she runs and plays, but her legs are a little bowlegged now. Im wondering if she hurt them while she wasnt feeling good. So nice of you to ask about them?

How is your dog doing? Pins out and everything okay now? I hope his recovery went well!

I think carrying low has been an issue with me. I can't wait until my body isnt pregnant anymore. I forget what I looked like before. Im sure its an issue with most all pregnant people though. Ofcourse now im wondering if ill go back to that or not. Oh well... lets hope that I feel like exercising once this baby gets here!

Well-- We had just decided not to tell Wes about Poppy unless he asked. Mainly to save him from the heartache. He has not said anything yet... I know that is kind of the easy way out, but I dont want to upset him

And yes it was expected with my aunt- she had congestive heart failure- so in between taking care of Jack I was going to OK to visit with her. Wes of course came with me to see her in the hospital several times.

BUT YES! It has been a tough tough month for us.. I am ready for June starting tomorrow!

I am soo glad the doggies are doing better! Buddy is better to, so that is good

We had to make the decision not to move to bloomingtion, Here are the reasons why, my grandfathers health has taken a turn for the worst and is degrading fast, my nana will need me when he passes, my mom was told that the two masses in her left breast has doubled in size and next monday she has a biopsy done on the masses to find out what to do next. So all in all a pretty crappy weekend. I did however start a internship at the archives dept here on campus and I really love it. We will still continue school here and will hope to move somewhere for our masters degrees. I hope everyone else is having a better week and I will keep u updated. Sorry to dump all of this here , I really needed to vent.
