It was a fun but long and tiring day!

Cute pic and They looked like they had alot of fun.

Maggie-while talking about the Earth's Best site on the freebie thread I thought of a resource that I used a ton with the kids. It's all about feeding your kids for the first couple of years, making homemade baby foods, when to start certain foods, etc. It is a great book but I gave my copy to someone else a long time ago.:sad2: It is called Super Baby Food by Ruth Yaron. I know it is too early to be thinking about food but you may want to get it if you get the chance. It's helpful even if you don't plan on making your own food.:thumbsup2

Next time Im at the used book store that we go to Ill check it out. Making baby food definitely sounds like something i might be interested in. I say that about cloth diapers too-- but the more I see Dh's little cousins babys poop in the diaper- i wonder what kind of a mess and hassle it will really be. Im not ruling it out though... lol. Maybe my hormones/patience are on edge right now.. i dont know. LOL

So im starting to show. Im in this weird in-between stage where my pants still fit fine except they are getting snug in the waist... and ive retired a lot of my tighter fitting tops and resorted to the ones that fit more loosly (but are now starting to look like tighter fitted tops ). I dont want to jump into maternity clothes yet (although i do have a few saved and washed)... im afraid ill loathe them sooner than I should, and at that point thats all ill have to wear. I definitely think im ready for the energy boost that some people get... oh, and nesting. My house looks the worst (not organizationally, but cleanliness wise) that it has ever looked. LOL, i just dont have the energy to dust, or the tollerance for the smell. That and the stuff I mop with..:scared: . Dh has been helping me dust and do the floors. I cant wait until my floors look decent again. With all this rain and snow, 2 miniature dachshunds + them going in and out to pee, and dark hardwood flooring.... I definitely need the energy boost (my house is begging for it anyway).

Theresa- not sure if you saw my post earlier but did you ever hear anything back about your possible move and college?

Maggie-you'll get your energy boost soon. I promise. Don't expect it with a second kid though.:lmao: As for cloth diapers, I used those with both kids too.:hippie: I have lots of recommendations but if you choose not to use them you should look into the Seventh Generation ones. When I did use disposable, those were my favorites. I chose them because they aren't bleached and don't have that icky gel goo in them. I did try all the other name brands and, to be honest, the hippy Seventh Generation ones worked better.:confused3

Marna I may make the couple hour trip to Kentucky so you can help me with this cloth diapering business. I have invested in a few already- and they are so cute to look at. Im still not sharp enough on my lingo to use the abbreviations, but I did get one that is AIO, and the others you stuff. They will be my guinea pig diapers I guess. LOL. I do have some disposables ive saved up from freebies (I cant forsee a good freebie goign to waist)-- but they would last me about 3 days total. LoL. Ive heard a lot of positive things about the seventh generation brand as a whole. Id say they are pretty pricey though. Ive never seen their diapers. They have an entire isle of stuff at our babiesRus though so ill check them out next time.

BTW- We have friends that live in Pikeville. Are you anywhere near there? We've never made the drive up to see them, but they come here often to shop and 'get away'.

Maggie-I'm sending you a pm so we won't run Madd off.:rotfl2: Just kidding Madd but I don't want to bore everyone with too much info.

 Never! We all talk about everything here! You go ahead talk freely- you are not bothering me at all!

I am sure there is a lot of advice mom freaps will want to give to Maggie to help her out!!

Hubby is still waiting for a decision on what department he will be accepted to so we are about 90% sure we are moving at the end of summer session one 6/28 so we will need to find a new place before 7/1 as that is when our lease is up here. But we are super excited and I have already started to spring clean and liquidate. I like the beginning to show stage that is when being pregnant felt real to me.:goodvibes

Maggie,

I did the cloth diapers and loved it. I used a diaper service, so the poop wasn't an issue. When it came time for potty training, it was a breeze. At night, I did use disposable diapers though, as when we went out for the day.

I also made all of my own baby food. Enjoyed every minute of it. She was the best fed kid.

Susan

I am finally getting my snow!!!:cool1:

I am so jealous.:sad2: Even my sister in freakin' South Carolina got snow out of this system.:headache: All we got was some ice yesterday morning and 13 degrees this morning. Grrrrrrr........ I'm glad you got some to enjoy Madd. It looks beautiful.

I know how much some of you like snow-- so here's to ya:cool1:. Madd ill admit, it is beautiful in those photos!!. Im very thankful ours came and left (we had flurries all day yesterday but nothing stuck). PLEASE oh PLEASE bring spring soon!!

WLD- Thats awesome that you used them as well. Im glad to know other freaps did it too. It doesn't seem to be much of a common thing around here and when I mention it i typically get the weird eye. How old are your kids now?

pperfectmom- you didnt use diaper service did you? Im almost certain we dont have one that services my area so it would be me and the trusty washing machine. Did most of the poop go on the insert things. Im just confused on those messy squishy one's :scared: how you go about managing that before it gets in the wash.

Maggie,

My beautiful baby is going to be 16 in a matter of weeks. :scared1: I only have the one. As I like to say, I got perfection the first time around and didn't want to tempt fate! :cloud9: She truly is an amazing kid, and I am one proud Mom.

Marna- I might not know anything about cloth diapers, but last night at around 10pm I got an automated phone call (along with thousands of parents) that my niece's school district would not be having school today:lmao: :rotfl2:

(SIL has me down as the emergency contact for Karlee, I guess they have to be sure everyone knows the school will be closed)

I am now officially in some sort of "parental loop":rotfl2:

Maggie-no diaper service out here in BFE.:sad2: I really didn't mind the messy ones at all. I tried several methods including soaking them in a pail but found the easiest for me was to just drop any solids into the toilet and swish the diaper around in there a few minutes if needed before putting in the pail. I line dried mine about 90% of the time and it really helped keeping the smell and stains away.:confused3

Madd-around here you have to get out of bed and turn the news on to see if school is in.:headache:

I need to ask my freaps for a HUGE favor- I wrote something on the freebie thread that was intended for a PM-

Did anyone see it before I erased it. b/c I'm gonna throw up.

:scared1:

It was like a horror movie- when the phone rings and the camera does a close up- I almost died! All the blood drained from my body. And the darn Dis takes forever to refresh after I deleted it- it was like a lifetime- I was closing my eyes and praying and I do not even believe in god:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :scared1:

That would be a great topic for a thread- have you ever PMd someone and actually posted it for all to see instead!!!?:lmao:
