The Good Ole Freap Chat ~ Sequel Part III ~

I did want to add that I have no idea how someone can be pregnant and also raise a child (people with 2 more kids). Because for the past 6 weeks or so Ive barely been able to feed myself and DH- let alone a dependant child, and take care of them. Especially those that have feel cruddy- i dont know how they do it with another child. So I admire those people for the strength and patience..

Sorry but :rotfl:

Michael was 3 months old when we found out we (I) was pregnant with Victoria :rolleyes1 They are 12 months & 12 days apart :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Carly has been sick for a week. Wednesday she fell asleep right after school and slept until 9:00 the next morning. She was pretty much fine Thursday and Friday. She got a fever on Saturday and it hasn't gone away. She said that nothing was bothering her, but I took her to the doctor anyway. As it turns out, she has strep throat. :scared1:

I can't believe that she didn't even have a sore throat.

Maggie-if you ever need advice on breastfeeding, birth or anything, just send me a pm. We have lots of moms and non-moms here who can all give great advice.

Oh, and don't let the name fool you. I have never been, never even tried, nor have I ever really claimed to be a perfect mom. I was just trying to be sarcastic-LOL!

Madd-haven't seen The Wrestler yet(and to be honest, it doesn't appeal to me at all and Micky sure is looking creepy these days:rotfl2: ) but we did watch Bottle Shock last night from Netflix and I liked it a lot. Anyone interested in wine would like it. It is a fictionalized accounting of the blind tasting in the 70's where California wines beat out the French. Made me feel downright patriotic.:lmao:

Sometimes I call mothers "SuperMoms" ITA- I do not know how they do it. It is 24-7. In sickness and in health :scratchin , wrong subject, but still true.

I am too lazy for motherhood:lmao:

I got flamed before for saying how "strong" (mentally, physically) women get when they become mothers. They just change. This dude got offended b/c he was a single parent. I can't win!:confused3

My boys would get wicked fevers and nausea with a teeny sore throat. Don't feel bad- the symptoms for strep are all over the map.

Yikes!! I had that a lot growing up. My mom (who is an RN) would have me breathe in her face because she could detect strep by the smell of my breath. Weird I know!? I hope it goes away soon!!

LOL :sad2: with some people you are just fighting a losing battle. Might as well throw in the white flag. You just can't win sometimes..

Get this- my cousin and his wife just had their first baby (he is in his 40s and never wanted kids, blah blah- it happened) anyway, he calls the poor little girl "it"! She is 4 months old now, you think he would get used to saying "she" by now!

Oh that's horrible :sad1: I hope he warms up to the fact that he has a DAUGHTER soon.

As far as parenting ~ from conception on do what works and feels right for your & DH. That includes your birth plan ~ I went in with a try it w/o meds 1st but ended up with the epidural - no regrets. Short of beating your child(ren) there are no bad parenting techniques, just those that are not endorsed by everyone with an opinion  There is no manual and you will pull your hair out, get grays from the experience...but it is also greatly rewarding as well. Enjoy it, sit quietly and laugh at them, and just have a conversation later about what a hoot __________ is to think :rolleyes1 It's all you can do short of beating them! :thumbsup2 We're here for ya to vent, whine, cry, cheer you on :thumbsup2
I totally agree! :) As for your cousin - it almost sounds like she's jealous - maybe she wants to be as happy as you are right now. :lovestruc

Speaking of birth plans.. LOL I was high-risk with my 4th - my youngest, and had to have her in a hospital. (My two boys were born in a birthing center, so I've done the hospital route twice and the birthing center route twice.) I didn't want to have her in the hospital but knew I had to because of the high-risk status. I checked in armed with four copies of a typed and signed birthing plan! I gave one to the registration people, one to the doctor, and two to the nurses. (Dr. told me this was OK, in fact when I told him I didn't want to go to the hospital he encouraged me to do it.) I told them exactly what I wanted and what I didn't want (barring any emergencies, of course.)

A couple of hours after Isabella was born the doctor came in to see me, he had just finished up a C-section with another doctor, and said they were all laughing about me and my plan during the surgery, about how I told them all what to do. :) They respected it, though, I got everything I asked for and I didn't get anything that I didn't want.

Moral of the story - you have to speak up! The hospital will respect that. :)

Oh i meant to comment on this as well. That entire situation is so sad. Hopefully once the little girl begins showing more personality he will open up to her-- for her sake anyway!! So sad, Madd! I feel terrible for the wife too- she must be so depressed!

Nah- you really have to know him. He was goofy before he even had a child. It really is no surprise.

He is very (over) protective of her. He is always worried someone will bump into her, drop her .....................he feels he is the only one she is safe with. I guess if you have all that- a little slip up every once and while can be forgiven. :rotfl2: and no, his wife knows how he is, she is not surprised.

I forgot to add- we did not go to see The Wrestler tonight like we had planned.

It was just so cold and rainy, I just could not imagine the thought of leaving my warm house.

My supervisor called me this afternoon and offered me the bosses Flyers vs Sabres hockey tix for tomorrow night- so it all works out just fine!:cool1:

Now THAT is my pre-kid favorite thing! Going to a Bruins game with my DA. My boys have never gotten into hockey, so I haven't been able to pass it on :confused3 . Have a great time at the game.

Well Freaps I've got a virus...

Not the cough cough, sniff sniff virus, but a stupid trojan horse. Its so bad. I have no idea how I got it either. It has disabled all of my spyware, malware detection. I'll google how to fix it (or anything for that matter) and it takes me to a different website (one that you wouldnt trust and looks extra sketchy). Wont let me look at anything unless its cached, and wont let me click through there. The computer wont boot right, and then it freezes. And the worst of all, it wont let me run MSCONFIG through "RUN". Ive booted in Safe Mode and still cant get MSCONFIG to run. Im about to give up and throw this thing in the trash. Im just thankful we spare. It's been good for me to do my research on today - learn all about this virus- and still not be able to help it in the least...:headache:

Download AVG ( http://www.avg.com/ )

It is a really, really, good antivirus program and it's FREE. It should be able to take care of the problem.

Seriously, its better than any antivirus software that you pay for.

I have AVG. I also have Spybot Search & Destroy along with Malware.

AVG is able to detect the trojan horse but it doesnt do anything about it. Ive done a lot of googling and it seems like thats the consensus. Ive had AVG forever and its always been good at detection - unfortunately with this it isnt getting rid of it though.

Maggie ~ I hope your findig a way to destroy the virus :headache:

Kellie ~ You've been on my mind all week but I've been saving up my wishes, prayers, and crossies for today for you that everything comes back with the desired results.
