I have never been in here. What is it? Do they serve meals or snacks? And do they still have performances? And if so, do you know what is playing right now?

Thanks. :)

<font face="Comic Sans MS"><font color=#00009c>Tia,

We went here recently (after reading Rajah's report on Bill Hill & the Hillbillies), and had fun. They have snacks here, including chili cheese fries, regular fries, cookies, chocolate cake, cheesecake, chips, soda...

The show is fun. We sat in the little booth area next to the stage, and got a lot of attention from the performers.

I believe the current show is themed around Toy Story II - featuring Jessie the cowgirl and the other characters from the western show she and Woody were once in.

:( That is really too bad about the Toy Story 2 theme...it sounds like it was probably really cute!

:) Thanks MaryJo for your input. I think I'll have to definitely do this....how many times have we just walked on by and not paid any attention to it???? Shameful! ;)

In January, they had two different shows in the Golden Horseshoe, depending on what day of the week you were there. One was the Billy Hill an the Hill Billies show which was absolutely hillarious and perhaps one of the funniest things I've seen at Disneyland. Fantastic talent there, too.

The other (which we didn't see) was some version of the classic show that had been showing there since Walt's day. It's no longer the same, but it's based on the same idea. I don't remember what it was called, but it was only shown a few times during the week and I don't remember when.

In addition, they frequently have funny little shows out front, which can be a lot of fun as well.

Yes they have food inside. I've had both their chili in a bread bowl (pretty good) and their chili fries (very good). If I remember correctly, they also had hamburgers and hot dogs on the list, as well as a good variety of drinks and a few desserts. The fries were just about the only "snack" foods, though. There are tables inside where you can sit down to eat, and I suggest getting there about 30 minutes early if you want to get a table and a snack -- that gives you enough time to pick your spot before it gets too packed, and to get some food and eat most of it before the show begins. Also, don't be afraid to go upstairs if they have it open -- that's a good view as well if you can get along the railing with a direct view of the stage.

Hope this helps :D

(And yes, they used to have a show based on Toy Story II called Woody's Roundup. It only lasted a very short while before it was for some reason canceled, but I'm not sure why. It was quite popular with rather long lines. I really enjoyed it as well, but if I had to pick one of the two shows as the better one, I'd say Billy Hill and the Hill Billies. But it's a close call. I wish they could put Woody's Roundup somewhere else in the park for a longer run because I do miss it)

Wow Rajah! You're loaded with info! :D Thanks. :)

I can't figure out why, in 3 trips, we have never ventured in there. <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused"> It just baffles me! <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif" alt="red face">

Don't feel bad about that, luvdsny -- when I was growing up I think we only went in there a couple of times. When we "rediscovered" Disney, we still skipped it until I took my DH to DL for the first time then had a full week there for a conference after he left. With time to relax and take in everything, I found Woody's Roundup so decided to give it a shot and really enjoyed it.

Then, last trip, we were rather tired, had about an hour until we could use our Thunder Mountain fastpasses, needed a place to sit down in the A/C and get a snack, and a show was about to start in 30 minutes -- perfect, so we tried it out. And loved it :D

Hey Rajah...I'm just hoping it will be warm enough when we're there that we'll want to seek some A/C. ;)
