The glory of shopping

I just have to share this, because while this may not seem like such a big deal to most people, I know you all will get it.

I went shopping today. Shopping has been a painful experience for a long time now -- I would get excited about finding cute clothes, and then have one thing after another be too tight, or barely fit around the hips and hang on top, or otherwise not do one darned thing for my self-image. My usual pattern was to go in the dressing room in a hopeful mood, and leave on the point of tears.

Well, I went into two stores today with armfuls of clothes sized either 'medium' or a number that's two sizes down from last year's size, and the only ones I didn't buy were out of style reasons -- they fit just fine, but I didn't like the way they looked on me.

Now I am the proud owner of two sleeveless dresses, five short-sleeved or sleeveless tops, and one pair of shorts, all of which fit the definition of cute, as do I.

Yay me!! Yay new clothes that weren't even close to the biggest clothes in the store!! Yay upper arms that haven't been seen in years!! Time to do -- THE SHOPPING DANCE!!

I understand! My story a little different - I was thrilled not to have a W after my size a few weeks back!! Going shopping has always been something I like to do but now I LOVE IT!


Be so proud of yourself - you worked hard and now you get to show off the results of all that hard work!!

Ive noticed that Im finally getting compliments from DH! Nice outfit, nice bathing suit, etc - feels good

Congrats on shopping and getting clothes that fit and are cute. Sleeveless dresses are exciting. I can not wait until I go to the Polynesian and buy something gorgeous in the lady's shop on the first floor. For years I have just gazed longingly at the pretty little hawaiian dresses. I hope they have something with purple flowers to go with my red hat!

Thanks, everyone!! I have already cleared out my closet of lots of things that no longer fit, but now I need to go through everything again. We got a cold snap over the last couple of days, but I folded away my new clothes this morning and got excited about them again! Come on, summer!!

Same thing used to happen to me, I dreaded the dressing room. But now love it. Congrats on your shopping finds. I just bought a new dress for our upcoming cruise, I was so excited to find something that looks good on me. It is a little small, but that only means I need to step up my workouts.

I love shopping too now!
I am a thrift store addict!
I began shopping there because of the weight loss, I didnt want to spend too much when I wasnt planning on being in it too long!
As a matter of fact, I went there today, I bought 13 shirts ( all form fitting) and one summer light jacket $40....... BUCKS.
cant beat that.
funny thing is, I wont even think to wear of my old big t shirts, they are now bedtime apparel........lol
And my new rule is to throw out what is too big for me now! I wear the size I should be wearing!
It took a while to get used to shirts that show me off, but I am now used to it! And since I have been showing off the new me! I have gotten so may compliments on it!

I am looking forward to the day that I can wear sleevless tops/dresses again! Right now my upper arms don't stop waving for about 10 minutes after I do!

Congrats on your shopping success! Feels great, doesn't it?! I just bought the 1st size 12 shorts I've owned in years the other day, along with a cute shorts outfit with a sleeveless top. I'm starting to enjoy shopping again, too!
