The GH Official Thread Part 3

Jason was also mentioned again today. Wonder if he’ll be returning…
It seems that I read somewhere that he might be returning. Or was that just speculation?
I also thought I read that it's going to come out that Ace isn't really a Cassadine after all. That's another one that I wonder if it was really true, or that it was an "I wonder-IF Ace is really not a Cassadine....."
Sometimes some of these sites make these glaring reports that something just might be fact. Has anyone read either the Jason or Ace rumor?

I've seen several rumors over the last 2-3 months that Jason is coming back and some of them indicate that the role will be recast. If Steve Burton isn't playing Jason, I don't think I want him to come back.

I hope that when Nicholas shows up in PC some day that he immediately has a paternity test done on Ace.

I just did a little reading about Steve Burton and a possible return to GH. He was let go by ABC/Disney due to his non-compliance with the company's Covid vaccine policy. Given the circumstances, I kind of doubt he would be rehired and offered a new contract (although stranger things have happened). Burton, himself, has said he would be open to returning to GH and continuing to tell Jason's story. Fans seem eager to see Jason return. Burton is under contract with Days of Our Lives until March 2024, so any future return would be after that date. To summarize: Burton is open to a returns. Fans seem to want a return. ABC has made no formal announcement on the subject.

I think it is MUCH more likely he returns than Jax. Steve Burton seemed to have left on good terms (sorry, not going to get the vaccine, but I'ld love to return in the future should the opportunity arise) opposed to Jax who seemed to burn a lot of bridges on his way out. Anyone know if the vaccine requirement is still in place?

Definitely! Ingo Rademacher (Jax) will definitely not be returning. He filed suit against ABC/Disney on the grounds that his right to refuse the vaccine based on his religious beliefs had been violated. It was announced this past June that the suit was dismissed. Apparently, the judge determined that his beliefs were more "personal" in nature rather than legitimately religious. There are a few articles out there that explain the judge's decision, in case anyone is interested in the details.

I did not find any information on whether or not ABC still has the vaccine mandate in place.

Maybe another GH paternity test is wrong and Spencer is the father. Nicholas returns, baby gets sick, DNA test proves that. I hope not. Spencer and Trina's relationship was better before their trip. Maybe she will be pregnant, too. Trina may love him, but typical GH history says he will end up with Esme. I have no sympathy for Esme, a terrible person before her memory loss, if that is actually true. I'd rather see Ace surrounded by his family. All amnesia victims recover their memory, so that storyline is ahead. Ace is the only one whose best interest matters. GH needs new stories and a few unexpected twists.

So did the surrogate really lose the baby or are Molly and TJ going to ask Kristina to carry the baby and now Kristina will say no because she has things going on now.

I'm not convinced that the surrogate really miscarried. How convenient that she could spend a few hours at home while it was happening but couldn't manage to get to GH to verify. I'm guessing TJ and/or Molly will run in to a few months down the road and she'll be very pregnant.

I'm not sure how I feel about Kristina being a surrogate. But I feel like the show has been setting that up over the last few weeks with the miraculous instant reconciliation of the relationship between Molly & Kristina.

I think she changed her mind and did not lose the baby. She will eventually get into a Port Charles icy winter car accident, be unconscious, and baby will be delivered. TJ will be one of her doctors, and as we endure another near-death baby storyline, it will need a blood transfusion. Doctor/patient confidientality kicks in. Baby will have a rare blood type and TJ will know it is his. Surrogate will survive, TJ will not tell Molly in order to "protect" her. Perhaps surrogate will even have amnesia! Then he and Molly can foster their own child. Somehow, this will lead to a law suit. The stress and pressure will split TJ and Molly. The only mystery is whether Kristina gets pregnant with their second child before the breakup. Please, GH, do not choose this plot.

Steve Burton (Jason) and Brandford Anderson (Spinelli) just started a podcast, Laura Wright (Carly) was their first guest:

They've had a podcast (and do in-person events) for several years now. I think they may have just changed the name recently. It used to be called "That's Awesome".

Again, here we are having Willow say Carly and Drew did nothing wrong, they should have never been charged with insider trading. It's just so stupid. They really should have had Nina make up these charges, that would make more sense, than this story line where they are mad that people who committed a crime were actually prosecuted for it.

Also wondering how mad Willow will be at Michael for keeping Nina's secret.

Didn't think of Nicholas, that's a good guess!
Yes, very good guess. I think that's a good possibility. Ava will be a prime suspect after her argument with Austin the other day. I thought for a moment it could have been Cyrus, but he doesn't tend to do his own dirty work. His cousin is chained to a bed at GH so it couldn't have been him. Too bad Austin decided not to spill anything to Dante before he got shot.

I've been reading that the shot was fatal and Austin will be dead. Roger Howarth has confirmed that his contract was not renewed and he won't be returning to the show. Although he's already played three characters so who knows? I always wondered what Austin's purpose was? They brought him in as a secret, long-lost Quartermaine, but that story never went very far. He dated Maxie for awhile, but they never seemed to have a bit of chemistry. Since then, he's had no romantic interest, expect Ava for a hot second. They basically used him to further the Cyrus story and help Ava hide Nikolas's (not) dead body, but that's about it.

Speaking of Nikolas, it seems pretty obvious that he's behind the corporation that's trying to buy Spoon Island and Windemere. I can see him coming back eventually to reclaim his island and status as head Cassadine now that Victor's gone. I can also seem him suing Esme for custody of Ace and further alienating Spencer. Might be some fun times ahead!

I had read that about Roger Horwath also. What a waste. I wish they would've found a better character for him to play. Judging by the comments, so do a lot of other people. Ofc, being a soap, he can always come back and I hope he does. As long as it's a good juicy role worthy of him.

I agree, it was really a waste they couldn't have made RH work. I just don't understand why the constant character changes for him. They couldn't convince One Life to Live to let them use him as Todd Manning, just stupid. Then with Franco, was that because of James Franco? Still confused over that one and now Austin who they just could never find a place for.

The Franco character, although originated by and named after James Franco, was property of GH. They had RH take over the role after learning he could no longer play Todd Manning. Even though GH redeemed Franco by curing him of the brain tumor that caused his mass-murderous ways, they no longer wanted the association with James Franco. As I understand it, James Franco was accused of sexual misconduct by a student at a university where he was a guest professor. The ensuring scandal was enough for GH to want to disassociate the Franco name and the character's subsequent portrayer from the show. This was never formally announced or confirmed by GH or ABC, but was much-speculated as the reason for the Franco character's death.
