The funny people at Yachtsman Steakhouse (an observation only)

Last Tues night DH and I were having a lovely dinner (DS went to play at Sandcastle Club) and for the first time in months we had a DATE! The couple behind us were also having a great time, laughing with the waiter - obviously familiar with the waiter and the man responded to something in laughter "oh sh*t" - I laughed, DH laughed - it was clear that the man wasn't trying to be offensive to anyone around him. At the next table a woman sitting with her DH and 2 daughters (10-12 ish?) gets so irrate with the "oh sh*t" man (it happened once, not like he kept going or was being obnoxious) and she makes a huge scene. DH and I were reflecting that chances were probably good that her children had heard that word at least once before. The family gets up and the mother storms out - while mom digs out her pack of cigarettes and dad covers up his tattoos with a jacket....I guess they were trying to set a good example for their kids! lol

Some parents like to put on a show, yet lack basic parenting skills. (I don't know enough to say thats the case with them). IMHO a simple explination to the kids if they questioned the language would be that some adults use bad words and that it is inappropriate. Same way you explain the wine they were drinking. Adults do things kids can't/shouldn't do. Life Lesson.

I'll be those kids never get to go to a professional baseball game or football game or hockey game. You hear a heck of a lot worse language from the fans in the stands. Wonder of that Mom would stand up and make a fuss during those events? She'd be booed and laughed at the entire time she was taking the kids out of the stadium.

Some people are just so sensitive.

Pehaps she had just seen their bill and decided If she made a fuss about the customer she could leave, without paying, LOL just kidding.
