Newbie here. Be gentle.

So I booked a room at The Fountains for seven nights, and with taxes and misc fees it came to approx $115 per night. Not bad for a two bedroom with amenities.

I prefer staying offsite so I can have more room, kitchen with oven, and a washer/dryer so I can pack light.

I also thought the pool looked nice.

Am I going to regret this ?:confused3

I stayed at the Caribe Cove last year, it was nice, but i wanted more pool time so...

Any thoughts ?

You picked one of the best resorts we have ever visited. I don't think you will be disappointed. Both pool areas are great, but sometimes the hours are limited so plan your time wisely.

I'm so glad to hear this. I had posted a couple of ?'s on here about the same place but never got many responses. I figured it must not be popular or well-known. I have never stayed off-site before, but friend that works there is giving us a week; so we can't turn it down.:thumbsup2 But I still wish we were staying on-site, esp. with our baby with us (for naps).

We usually leave for a few hours and rest. It really doesn't take any longer to drive back to the Fountains than it would staying onsite relying on the Disney busses.

The Fountains is definitely on my "very short list" of top-notch places.

Do you have to pay for parking every time you park at the parks in the same day? Example---leave for few hours and come back--do you have to pay to park again? Go to 2 parks in 1 day---do you have to pay to park at both parks?

I'm an owner here, and I have tried other places, but none I've liked better than the Fountains. We bought back in 1999 before Bluegreen bought it, but I think it's gotten better since BG took over. The new pool is the best. Only complaint is the hours of the pool bars aren't great, and haven't been consistent (missed closing time too often). Very clean, pretty quiet. Good location. I've used the I-trolley a few times, stops out front.

Hi
Please can anyone advise me if there are are daily resort fees/tax to pay here (I know you have to pay next door at Floridays), but no one has ever mentioned it about the Fountains.
Thanks

what is the proximity of The Fountains to Disney Parks? Do they have shuttles or car rental better?

Their web site is here: http://www.bluegreenonline.com/ They're part of BlueGreen. I'm not sure if you have to pay fees per day, probably required by law since you're renting.

Downtown Disney is about 10 minutes by car, because there is a very long traffic light at the corner of SR 535. If not for that it'd be like 5 minutes. MK is more like 20 min to the parking lot, then it's another (? 15 min maybe?) using either the ferry or the monorail.

There is a shuttle, but it goes once in the morning and returns once at night, IIRC around 5:30pm or 6. I've always had a rental car, I like the flexibility and I find cars in Florida cheaper than anywhere else. There's no parking fee at the Fountains, they've even let me take in two cars a couple of times (we had friends staying with us).

Almost all units are 2 bedroom and sleep 6, some of the oldest 2 BR can sleep 8. There are some very new 3 BR units sleep 10, no idea what they cost ($299/night maybe? - but split 3 ways is $100/night). The 3 BR are pretty deluxe, they have a games room with a pool table, each BR has a separate full bath, I think they have hardwood floors.

I have been looking at this resort.
How far to Universal would you think?
Is there free internet?
Thanks for any help!

That looks like an amazing resort! But I do not like the fact that it's on I-drive. We drove I-drive once and that's all it took for us to never go back.

Is it at least on an easily accessible spot?

The Fountains is on the quiet end of I Drive. We just returned from Floridays which is next to the fountains and it took us 8 minutes to get to the Magic Kingdom Parking Lot. Never got on the highway and had no traffic. I thought the location of the resorts was great.

Glad to hear you had a great time. :thumbsup2

I know I have asked before but please does anyone have an e`mail contact for The Fountains. The only one I can find is the one on the Bluegreen site and its a general one and they havn`t replied to me.:sad2:

Many thanks

jjct1: I booked here at the Fountains for my trip to Universal in September. I'm relieved that everyone on here really likes it and no bad reviews. I'm registered on Travelzoo (lots of last minute deals) and there is still the deal out there for for a 2bdr villa for $99 a night! We're staying 3 nights, totaling $334 (no extra fees). (Split that between the 5 of us going.....I'd say not a bad deal at all! :cool1:

I'm not sure if you'll be able to see the page after clicking on the link, but here is the link to the travelzoo deal:

PS I called the Bluegreen resort directly (the number at the bottom) and presto!:wizard: NO hassle! Good luck!

I've never stayed at the Fountains, but it has an excellent rating on TUG2.net (a timeshare users group I belong to to get ratings and detailed reviews of timeshares so I know where would be a good place to rent.)

I love doing the offsite condo stay like you're doing in Orando. It's so much fun and such a great value. I think you are making a great choice, and I give you a definate thumbs up!
