We are going to Fort, Oct 26-Nov 1st. It will be DH, Me, DD5 and DS 18 months. We are staying at the cabins and I have a few questions! we are driving the truck, so we will have room but will I need to bring a gate to block off any area from the baby? should I bring our portable booster seat/high chair? anything else that I should bring? I read they have a pack n play, but should I bring my own?

also we are going to be there for Halloween.. I plan on bringing a few decorations.. should I plan on bringing any candy? do people t or t there? I would like to get tickets for MNSSHP but dont think we will go on Halloween because Im sure it'll be packed..

If you have room in the truck, I would bring the extra items for the little one. Not to gross anyone out (it's still early), but when our youngest was that age we stayed at All Star Movies and had Disney put a pack and play in the room for us to use. On our first night there, getting back to the room at about 9:00pm, I started to open the pack and play and found that not only had it NOT been cleaned since the last people used it, but it had been packed away with the linen still inside with rancid baby barf still inside. :crazy2:

I would probably bring the gate if you are worried about the little one getting out of bed at night. Otherwise, you are likely to be so busy that the baby will either be in your arms, stroller or taking a nap. At that age, I found that the front soft cloth slings worked great. The little ones were just happy to be close to Dad/Mom that they did not get too fussy.

Enjoy! As you can see from the picture in my signature, we had a blast at MNSSHP in '06.

thanks!

He isnt walking yet but he is almost there so he will definetly be walking by then and Im afraid that he is going to get into everything and then I'll have to go buy a gate from Walmart, I will defintetly bring by own PNP too!

There really are only 2 doorways in the cabin that could accomodate a gate(the bedroom and the bathroom), so you probably won't need it in the cabin. You might want one for the deck though, that way the little one can wander around on the deck without you worrying about the steps to the driveway.

Thats pretty gross about the P&P......but I can easily see that happening at an all stars....very few people without children stay in the allstars, where as people at the fort are often older families, that have no use for the P&P....it was perfectly clean in appearance at least when we used it....as a matter of fact there wasnt even evidence that it had ever even been previously used....however, the cabin renovations had just been completed at that time, so its possible that they hadn't been used yet at that point. My grandson was only 8 months and we didnt feel that we wished we had brought a baby gate until NOW(that you've mentioned it!!!)...it WOULD have been great to let him out on the deck...we DID bring his walker though, and that was helpful in the mornings when everyone was rushing around getting ready for the day.

Definately go to the MNSSHP-an absolute blast! We did it for the first time last year, and will be returning this year. In fact we planned our trip just so we could go to the party. I second the opinion on bringing your own P&P, you just never know. The walker idea is excellent as well. It might make life easier for you. I'm sure it would be enjoyable to be able to relax on your deck as well, so a gate would be a good idea too. Have a great time!!

Thanks! unfortunetly I dont think he will stay in a walker...lol I have hard enough keeping him in the PnP and he just started to walk. He better be fully walking at 18 months!

I saw it has a vcr..if i bring my small dvd player will it connect to the tv?

anything else we should bring?

The VCRs have been replaced by DVD/VCR combos, here's a pic....in the bottom left corner:
